Visited recently Buhl Bar — pretty strange name indeed. But inside it was cool — well designed place. The bar was full with bottles — as every bar have to be. 15 — 20 minutes after I order a shot and a coffee come the happy hour. The offer was good. So I took to non alcoholic cocktails on an price of a one. It was 5 or 6 dollars. Just fine. The service perfect, for a local bar. Not to big or not to small. Just a after work place. Yes, I would like to recommend it. Good for small and medium sized groups — 2 – 3 to 5 – 7 people.

I like this place for happy hour. It’s close to my office so it’s easily accessible, the interior is sophisticated and has a historic vibe. I don’t know what more you could want from a bar. It’s small enough to feel like a hidden gem, big enough that you aren’t really bothered by anyone. Attentive bar staff and booze — a winning combo.

This is one of those little places tucked into a corner in downtown Detroit that more people should know about. It’s open from 3−8pm weekdays and has the feel of one of those old-school bars classy businessmen used to go to drink and make deals(not that I’m old enough to know if that actually happened, but if they did, that’s what it felt like). It’s warm and quiet, with lots of dark wood and just enough lighting to create the right ambiance. They have a good selection of liquor, plus a solid wine selection and they usually have some aperitifs(it must be just like the classy old-school bars, because I’m not sure in what other context I would use that word!), including cheeses, meats, and bar mixes. Definitely a great place for a business meeting, or an after-work drink after a long day.

I went here for a business meeting last night. It seems like a nice little spot. I don’t work downtown, but if I did, I would go there more often. It feels like the kind of place where professionals would congregate. The atmosphere is warm with lots of dark wood accents. Behind the bar, there’s a good selection of higher-end liquors; an appropriate wine selection; and a bartender who knows everyone’s names. The hours are listed above as being 3pm to 8pm Monday through Friday, but I think they’re now open on Saturday nights, too. Unfortunately, I don’t know the hours.

Located right across from the Guardian Building, the Buhl Bar is a perfect place for political movers and shakers to congregate after a hard day’s work. It’s nicely appointed, with an old-school, clubby feel to it; the perfect backdrop for the lawyers and executives this place is clearly here to serve. Don’t come to the Buhl Bar expecting dinner. Open from 3:00PM — 8:00PM Monday through Friday, this bar is strictly for drinks, which are well made and generously poured. The only food you’ll see are meat and cheese nibbles along with the requisite peanuts and bar mix. As it’s only steps from my office, I see myself becoming a regular. See you there!
