I went to funk night last month and I thought it was awesome. Lots of dancing, literally every single kind of person ranging from 18 – 40 years old there! Met alot of cool people and all good vibes. I reccommend it even if you dont really like funk music, its a good time.

Funk Night at the CAID was one of the«it» spots in Detroit the first Friday of every month. I attended it a few times and I always had a great time dancing the night away, or running into many familiar faces around the local area. You might want to get your pre-drink on, however, because their bar leaves much to be desired. I loved going to the event because I was guaranteed to run into some people I haven’t seen in awhile — it’s where they would migrate to. It goes on way into the AM, and doesn’t really get rolling until after midnight. DJ R-O-Z spins deep and rare funk from the 60s and 70s, along with the classics. If you’re a fan of funk music or people watching, this is a great night for being a freak who comes out at night.
