All you gotta know is this place was smart enough to host Cleon Peterson. Don’t know what that means? Then you don’t need to be ready gallery reviews ya chump. Anyway, for all my art lovers out there. This place is small, but trying to get down big. So support that shit or get a job at HR Block. Oh and Follow that Instagram game to know what’s good playa.

Came to Detroit for the Shepard Fairey Printed Matters show here at Library Street Collective, great gallery space with one of the coolest adjacent street art filled alleys I’ve seen in all my art travels around the world. The Earth Crisis works were the highlights of the show right inside the front door of the gallery, love the layering, precision cutting of the piece both dramatic in red and black. Love Shepard’s work and cool to see most of the work in the show was sold already as the show is only up for a short time ending in mid-August. Shepard did a series of murals in the alleyway, in the neighborhood and ten story mural on building across the street from the gallery. Plus he DJ at the opening, he’s truly one of the best DJ’s I’ve experienced from the show at CAC in Cincinnati. Angela was extremely helpful giving tips about the area, art museums, hip neighborhoods, restaurants and breweries to check out in town, including the Z garage behind the gallery, check out all 10 floors of the garage to see all of the murals & color schemes on each floor. Can’t wait to see what the Library Street Collective’s next show is, I’m sure something cutting edge for Detroit!

Very kool space, visited most recently for Shepard Fairey & had a blast. The events are well organized pricing was within norms but everything is negotiable. Make sure you check out the alley behind the venue for some interesting street pieces.
