I like this pizza place. I’ve been a couple of times for a slice of pizza. It’s an inexpensive option for a quick lunch. The pizza selection for slices to go is limited, but it serves it’s customer base. Parking is crazy with the M-1 Rail construction going on. Mainly people who are walking or working would find it easy to navigate. The pizza reminds me of a local pizzeria joint that you would go to for a quick slice.

Few choices for slices. What is available is average and greasy. They close 2 hours earlier than their listed times, although they leave the«open» sign on.

tried this place during lunch hour on a Thursday afternoon. they have tables available for sitting if you choose to eat in, most of which were filled with the construction workers who are working around campus martius. i got the 2 slice and pop combo, and chose the pepperoni slice along with the meat lovers slice. the pop machine did not have any ice(had a sign saying it was busted) and there was also another drink out of service, but i couldn’t remember what it was. on to the pizza, both slices were fresh and piled with enough toppings. i enjoyed both, as they were thin crust but big enough to fill you up! this is a solid place to get pizza if you are heading to/from an event, or if you’re on your lunch break at work. next time i think i’ll try the special slice, which comes with pepperoni, ham, mushroom, onions and green peppers!

I really wanted to give this place once star. I haven’t «been», so it may be fine for a quick slice for lunch, but the delivery experience was pretty abysmal. They forgot half my order(keep in mind they charge an additional delivery fee — you would think that would mean your delivery is… what you wanted) and while they did go back and get the rest, it looked like they carried my pizza under their arm like a book on the way to my apt. It was all smooshed up and scattered in the box. Even without that hot mess, the pizza wasn’t anything better than«meh». The only reason they don’t get one star is: They have some of the best wings I’ve ever had. Now to be fair, I’m not some huge wing aficionado. But these aren’t your typical deep-fried jobbies. They tasted grilled or something so they had a bit of char(in a good way) and a lot of smokey flavor to them even underneath the sauce. So, maybe I’ll stop in for a lunch slice if I’m nearby, the price is right even for meh pizza. Maybe not. But I can see myself grudgingly ordering wings from here again. Obviously for pick-up, not delivery.

My gf and I stopped in on our way to the winter blast. We were the only two in the place. Walked in and went to the counter. A guy behind the counter talking on the phone didn’t even acknowledge we were even there. We must have bother him as he went out of sight to continue his call. It sounded like someone else was back there but we asked for help no one said anything. Sometimes you just can’t give people the business!!!

This is my most simple review I’m gonna post. If your not trying to lose weight SLICESISAWESOME. It’s great for«walking Downtown on woodward looking for a great deal on something to eat with a few dollars in your pocket». I recommend The Pepperoni or Tomato Basil yummmm.

This place should not be called«Slices.» They only serve slices of pizza for lunch. Misleading…

Slices is good, I think if their sauce was seasoned a little bit more it would put them on the top of my list. But good prices, and always a friendly guy behind the register.

Great little small walk-in Pizza joint, nothing too fancy about the place approximately 10 tables and 20 chairs(2 chairs per table) during lunch time they have have single slices for $ 2.50 each, the slices range from tomato basil, pepperoni, cheese, meat lovers & supreme. They also have a full menu with your typical pizza joint items available, my personal favorite are the pepperoni slices there nice big and foldable. They have a daily special, two slices of pizza and a pop for five bucks, this is what I get almost 3 to 4 times a week, they also have coupons for multiple pizzas, subs, wings and bread sticks. They also put a few tables and chairs outside during the summer hours, it’s the best out of the few pizza joints downtown Detroit, the other pizza places are chain joints, Slice has that mom and pop own atmosphere.

The pizza is above average. Nothing to write home about. But few options downtown for late night pizza one can’t be too choosy. The lower rating has more to do with the lack of quality customer service and the nickel and diming. They charge extra for everything.

I waltzed into Slices after discovering Olga’s has an early close time… It is a very small space decorated in a Detroit sports theme. It seemed clean enough and had cheap deals on pizza and fountain pop. The clerk seemed distracted but we took the last two slices to hold us over before deciding on alternative dinner plans. The pizza was not re-heated from the counter display and was evidently not the freshest slices around town. I would not go out of my way to eat at Slice’s nor would I waltz back into here unless I was super short on cash and desperately starving.

Went here for lunch today and it was great! Two slices(New York style) and a pop for $ 5.50 was a great deal and filling. Saw a small calzone which was huge that looked great too. If you like NY style pizza you need to check it out.

I’m here working the Detroit autoshow. It’s one of the few places in downtown Detroit open late on a Sunday.

Couldn’t beat the price, and the pizza was pretty darn good too. I had the 2 slices and a pop for $ 5.50 and was pretty full. I will most definitely be back soon.

Brought my nieces and nephews here after a long day at the river walk. They fell hungry and while I was thinking crêpe’s, they were thinking pizza and they won. Drove around and saw slices, it was delicious even my Arab mother was impressed. The owner was very kind, made the pizza thin and well done the way we wanted it. Place was super clean, and very well kept.

Wasn’t able to eat here because they’re «done for the evening dear». Says they’re open for delivery so I thought id give them a try. They did answer but are no longer delivering because they’re done for the evening.

It’s New York-style pie. It’s thin, it’s greasy, it folds. Exactly what you want out of a NY slice. Sauce tastes great, cheese falls off, and it’s a beautiful thing. It’s not artisan or upscale… it’s a slice joint. And for what it is, it’s magnificent. The staff’s been friendly and perfectly courteous everytime I go in there. Love this place and keep coming back for more.

Needed hangover food. Ordered Slices and got some hot cardboard with melted cheese on top. Slices is definitely a last resort pizza option. If you want super cheap tasteless pizza, you get some Slices. I give them an extra star for staying open later in Downtown Detroit(not many late night options) and also delivering in the local area. My large pizza with one topping of choice was 7 bucks. Not Bad, as long as you don’t care about taste!

Well yes the pizza is greasy, the crust does fold and it is fast and cheap. Would I go here if I wasn’t starving and in a hurry? Nope Would I go here if I were craving really good pizza? Nope Would I go here if I were seeking exceptional customer service? Nope Would I go here if I were seeking the ambiance? Nope Would I go here if I were in a hurry and too hungry to wait through another meeting for lunch? Yes and Yes

Slices is located about halfway between my office and where I park my car(when I drive to work, which is rare). I left work this evening late and hungry, and arrived at my car to find that I had left my keys at my desk. So, I was in for a second round trip across town. On this muggy evening, I was what one would call a «hot mess» on my third trip past Slices. Just then a lovely gentleman caught pace with me to ask questions such as if I had heard of the Beatles and had I gone to see Paul McCartney. While I normally have a tolerance for local color, I ducked into this establishment rather than complete the conversation. Slices offers single, hot slices of pizza, and I was SO hungry. As a somewhat vegetarian, I’d asked for something veggie, but they only had a few slices on the rack, all with meat. The cook stepped out and indicated that he’d make me a «personal» veggie pizza with whatever toppings I wanted for $ 3. Placated, I sat and waited. The atmosphere is almost non-existent, but the place was clean. Mercifully, there was no TV. The pizza was fine. Not particularly original, but the crust was good(maybe they’ve improved since the previous review). Being hungry, I ate the first two pieces while pipping hot and the other two when I got home. Like every pizza, it was better when it wasn’t burning my mouth. So, three stars and three cheers for being open and accommodating.
