Stef-n-Ty

Today I finally checked out husband-​and-​wife-​owned Stef N Ty, following the advice of a fashionable friend.
All of the hats are handmade, one-​of-​a-​kind pieces, created by Stephanie. They are fantastic. There were bright red and yellow hats made with a printed fabric from Ghana. There were stylish, more everyday denim hats, including a particularly cute one with two buttons from Hudson’s (a subtle Detroit pride look). The textures range from black lace to repurposed burlap coffee bags.
It was fun trying on different styles and talking with Tyrone, who is extremely nice. Every place tries to claim their store is an experience, but this one actually is. They will listen to your needs, and can alter any hat to better fit your size.
It was hard to pick, but I ultimately chose a hat made from vintage upholstery, with a floppy brim held up with a hat pin with glass beads on it. Blossom Russo’s signature look WISHES it was this hat. I can’t wait to rock it.
