I got right in for dinner on a Monday night — no line. The restaurant and bar were both busy. I ordered a hamburger which was decent and pretty much what I expected. I was a bit disappointed with my iced tea which was served in a mason jar. Too small. The waitress was slower than I expected and it appears that they are grossly understaffed. Ok so this is a double whammy. First the service is slow, compound that with a mason jar drink half the size of normal. Really? If you are going to have half sized drinks then you should have twice as many servers. I decided to order the apple pie dessert. It was slightly below average in size and taste. Overall not a terrible dinner.

Tap is a great restaurant in MGM for bar food. I’ve had their clam chowder soup and burger before. The soup was great. My last visit we ordered nachos, Mac and cheese sticks, pizza, and a turkey club. The Mac and cheese is a must have! I order it every time I’m here. Pizza was great also. Our server was really attentive even when it was busy so that was great!

So I was at the casino and saw there was a lot of people waiting in line at TAP so I called them instead of waiting in line. All I wanted was to place a carry out order, the lady on the phone said that they do not do carry out and that I must place an order at the bar. OK, not a problem. I walk in and don’t see a seat at the bar, so I walk up and ask if I can place an order. A gentleman walked up and told me that I must be sitting down at the bar to order something… OK, I look around at the bar and it is full. So I go back to the entrance and explain my situation to the two ladies at the reception desk. She tells me that I must wait for a table(one hour wait time) so that I can sit down and order carry out. After this I called TAP again and spoke to the manager KIM to say that I was at the bar and there were 3 – 4 empty tables when I was waiting. She confirmed that I could have sat down and ordered at someone elses reserved empty table if I was waiting, who cares right?! So I have to wait 1 hour to order carry out bar food or I can just sit at a random empty table and order my carry out and ??! Good to know for the future!!! P.S. I wont be coming back. Ill spend my comps elsewhere even if it means I eat a burger every time. Thanks Kim, Your biggest fan

The food there is great. we tried the shrimp tempura and the chicken and waffles. both were good, loved the bourbon syrup with the chicken and waffles. Great bar menu. They have a big selection of beers on tap.

Agreed the service sucks and the long time staff do not care. You are on their time not yours. They prefer to talk over helping customers. The food is good but not always on par. The steak, yikes. Very fatty.

Been here many times, service is very very slow usually takes a good ten minutes before anyone comes for drinks, but the food is great. Worth the slow service.

I have been here a few times now to eat as it it located inside the hotel(as well as the casino) where I am staying during my conference, The place is very busy and has some decent food and service. I liked everything that I had(wood fired pizza, chili, breakfast). They have a huge amount of diverse taps of local beers and ciders. I find the pricing all over the place. Most of the apps are like $ 11 to $ 12 — the same price for a pizza or other entrees. Very odd. Also a big peeve is the smoke, They are attached to the casino and have all the windows open facing the casino fill the entire restaurant is nasty cigarette smoke. This would not fly in New England. Three stars for food and service buit the smoke issue makes it a 2.

After filling our stomachs with way too much food at the buffet, we went to TAP, bar located just at the entrance of the MGM Grand. We didn’t eat here, so no comments on what the food tasted like, but a lot of people around us were ordering food and it looked decent, like your typical bar food. We walked in and it was crowded with at least a 20 min wait for a table. But bar room was first come, first serve, if we could find a place to sit for four people. The bar was crowded, but after one walk around we found two empty bar stools, ordered a beer, and by the time the beers came, four stools opened up at the end of the bar, which worked out perfectly since it was also right in front of the only TV with the game on(there was a Lion’s game that day too). The bartender was friendly, checked up on us when she noticed we may need new drinks. They also had $ 3 mimosa’s and they didn’t skimp on the champagne either. We ordered several drinks while watching the Brown’s lose, and sadly walked back to our hotel. Overall the place had a good vibe to it, I could see myself grabbing a beer or two there again if I am ever back in Detroit.

Meh… this place was okay but definitely nothing special. The service was fine, but the food seemed over priced for what you get. In addition to that they had all these drink«specials» that had fine print under them basically limiting most of them to extremely small windows of time. Next time I’ll probably skip going here and just over to the food court in the casino instead.

The food was average and the service was okay. Nothing special, my chicken parmesan was sort of sour and dry. Didn’t quite finish it. Although, the ribs are something I’d get again. Very mouth watering and the meat just slips right off the bone. Went with my family and the ribs were served 5−10mins after most of the entrees. Therefore, expect a wait.

I love this place! Never had a bad meal here and the service is great! Highly recommend the fried mac and cheese as an appetizer and the boneless rib sandwich. Even their sweet iced tea is delicious! The ambiance is great too. It’s set up like a big old time man cave. Autographs and trophies on the walls. Plenty of TVs in the bar area.

This place has billboards all around town so we assumed it would be halfway decent when we wanted some food halfway through our time in the casino… By the billboards I thought it was supposed to be a sports pub like scene, but this place was the complete opposite of the promos everywhere… The entire clientele in this empty, pathetic bar were old weirdos that looked like they stepped off of a short bus from a tea party convention that was held downriver… I was expecting a bar with gastropub food since its at MGM… The food was deplorable and looked like Sysco by product… Server was high on something and could not comprehend what«please bring me a glass of water» meant… Beer glass was chipped and definitely NOT proper temp… This place makes MGM Casino seem pathetic!

My family had a great dinner and received great service at Tap — super impressed for a casino restaurant! Prices on par with a typical sports bar/restaurant and a great atmosphere too. We ordered a wide range of food — NY Strip Steak, hamburger & fries, chicken wrap, apps, soup, etc. — everything was great. Will be back!

I would have to say my favorite thing here is their pizza. It’s cooked in a brick oven and is Delicious. When ordering mixed drinks make sure you request a long call. It only cost a dollar more and it is almost twice the amount of alcohol. I also would recommend sitting at the bar if possible as opposed to a table. The bartenders are friendly and it is a good place to watch a sporting event. I am not a beer drinker but they do offer a large variety of the specialty beers on tap. Hence the name tap LOL

My least favorite place. i wouldn’t go back for free. I was at the casino and just wanted something simple. I headed to a bar seat and was greeted reasonably fast. She was busy but seemed to be doing o.k. She asked if I needed a beer menu and water — I know. So far so good. I order a french onion soup and a turkey burger. I noticed this great advertisement for Bloody Mary Sundays. The picture shows all the«snacks» like sausage, cheese, and olives etc. I asked if they had them tonight. She made the«I don’t want to make this» face, so i clearly told her if its a hassle I’ll have a beer. «No! No! Its fine». A few minutes later she comes back and says«we are out of all the things that come with it».Really? Even though tomorrow is the day for this, OK fine. I get the soup — decent. Doesn’t blow me away but not too bad. A bit salty but its fine. So I’m sitting and waiting and waiting and waiting and just under an hour later, she asked if I had my food. I told her no and if it wasn’t made I’d just take the check, not big deal. «oh no no no I’l check on it». About 5 minutes later she walks up with the forgotten about under the heat lamp for almost an hour burger. I can already tell its not edible. She gently tosses it in front of me as I ask«Has this been sitting».no response. I feel the plastic baskets its sitting in and it hot. I feel the bun and its rock hard. I feel the tomatoes. They are hot and so is the lettuce. I took one small bite, why I don’t know, and its like eating sand. «Not good huh?» Wow, I wanted to drop a few cuss words but I didn’t. She then tells me that she’s going t show her boss later. Never never again. The Steakhouse and Italian are great — good service and food.

Just dined here with nine family members to celebrate my mom’s 80th. It’s a bar. It has a variety of apps and entrees. Wings are $ 0.50 each on Wednesdays. The portobello sandwich was good.($ 10.00). They have an extensive beer menu. I opted for a hometown brew, Griffin Claw. Everyone enjoyed their food.

This restaurant is located inside MGM Casino right before the entry to the actual casino section. I came for lunch and there was a 10 – 15 minute wait for a table. The seating at the bar area is first come first serve, so I just sat at the bar. The menu is great offering a variety of options: wings, quesadilla, sliders, fried mac-n-cheese, soups, salads, pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, pasta, fried chicken, fish, and steaks. BOWL& A HALF — $ 9 — Clam Chowder or Short Rib chili with choice of ½ turkey bacon club, grilled chicken Caesar wrap, Asian chicken salad wrap or Greek salad wrap. I went with the clam chowder and Asian chicken salad wrap and they were both wonderful. The clam chowder was not scorching hot, but rather warm, which was great since I didn’t have to wait for it to cool down. The wrap was on the sweet side, which I normally don’t like in my main dish, but my gosh was it tasty! The sweetness of the wrap went really well with the saltiness of the soup. I can say this was my favorite lunch of all the things I’ve tried in Detroit. LEMONADE — $ 3.50 — Pretty good, not too sweet. BREADPUDDING — Not many places can pull off bread pudding, but this is a winner! This place is pretty packed around dinner time, too.
