The Zeitgeist is an eclectic venue near the old Tiger’s Stadium. The space is pretty raw, but the artists, writers, and musicians that frequent it are welcoming.
A good friend of my husband’s, James Hart, hosts a monthly poetry reading series here. He pulls in some great local talent, Wayne State profs, and published authors from around the country (my talented hubs included) to read their work.
In addition, Zeitgeist also hosts art openings, live music, plays put on by the Abreact group (excellent and hilarious) and charity events. Most events are free or low cost, and they usually serve come cheap beer and wine out of plastic cups. It ain’t fancy, but it’s a fun space to enjoy the arts.
