Such a great, friendly and affordable CNY establishment! All Italian, all New York, Mario and his guys have been tossing pizza and calzones with quiet humility and dedication to sincere sauce for over 20 years. If you mention your family name or connection to Syracuse, and Mario is dishing, he’ll probably know one of the relatives! Arrive no later than 5, or call in your order for no wait, but count on quick, competent service in any case for a quality ‘za, ‘zone or(new) wings your way at this neighborhood joint in the ‘Cuse. We sampled the broccoli, cheese and sausage calzones, with a side of BBQ wings. They offered and provided at no extra charge extra sauce for everything, and yeah! It was all yummmm! Highly recommend for tasty, culturally competent take out, Syracuse style!

Really fabulous authentic pizza. They will deliver to Syracuse proper and you can choose your fresh, delicious toppings. You’ll get thin crust — the best — for a reasonable price. Mario & Salvo’s is my go to delivery spot. Check it out!

This is probably our favorite pizza stop in syracuse and trust me we eat alot of pizza! Crust has just the right chewyness, sauce has good flavor, and real cheese! Large is 16″ price is average! Just an all around good pie and its always consistent! Havn’t had anything else there but they do have other offerings!

Lunch for slices. I was missing Johnny’s and this fit the bill. Good selection of slices even later in the afternoon. Parking here can sometime be a challenge.

Definitely my favorite pizza in the Syracuse area. The sauce is flavorful and boldly seasoned and the pizza is just consistently perfect.

Stopped in for a slice. I never order it raging hot, when the slice came out it was perfect. Taking the slice and folding it old school it held its integrity. That’s what makes a good crust. There was enough sauce which was not oily at all and just the right amount of cheese. Will be back for sure !!!

Sister and I found this hidden gem thru a Unilocal search on our quest for late night pizzas, when we got the munchies after seeing a movie. I’ve lived in Syracuse most of my life and only JUST tried Mario & Salvo’s for the first time. The flavor was delicious, chicken was tender(I had a slice of buffalo chicken), the texture had the right amount of crunch and stretchiness. Salvo(one of the store owners) was actually here, working in the background. I’ll be coming here again!

We stopped in here on the last leg of our most recent great American roadtrip. Service was brisk and a bit rough around the edges but I think its part of the charm! Ordered three slices and a fountain pop to share — totally delicious. If we are ever passing by again, I would love to stop in and try their baked ziti with meatballs. Yum!

Best pizza in Syracuse. Consistently well seasoned and great crust. We have tried all of the other pizza restaurants in town, but keep going back to Mario and Salvo’s for the quality and great tasting pizza. You have to try it!

Amazing pizza as long as they don’t burn the bottom. If you like very thin crusted, cheesy pizza(New York style), this is the place to go. I have a few pizza places in Syracuse I rotate going to and this is one of my favorites. I have been ordering pizza from Mario and Salvo’s for years now. The only downside I have encountered from them in the past are a burnt bottom, completely ruining the taste of the pizza. We stopped going to them for quite some time due them constantly burning our pizza. I have not had this problem in a while now, but my family and I are still wary about it. Our favorite is their plain cheese pizza. It just has so much flavor packed into such simple ingredients. Whenever I get toppings I feel like it overpowers the pizza’s best qualities(cheese, sauce, and crust). It’s definitely the kind of pizza that cannot support itself and it can be more on the soggy side due to such a thin crust in the center. They like to pack most of the crust toward the edges, which I appreciate so I can dip my crust in hot sauce and blue cheese. We also have ordered their wings in the past, either medium or hot. They’re average in terms of flavor and quality. There is nothing outstanding about them, but they are still quite good and I will order them whenever I get pizza from here. A personal pet peeve of mine: I like my wings really saucy. I find the sauce is the best part when I eat wings, so unless I specifically ask for extra saucy, they come a little on the drier side. They were still nice and juicy but I like wings smothered in hot sauce. Overall, great pizza with decent chicken wings to compliment. I will continue to come back here as long as I am in the Syracuse area craving good New York style pizza.

Great pizza for this area. It’s floppy NY style pizza. May be a bit too greasy for my liking, as I tend to prefer to eat this pizza cold whenever I order it. I like Pavone’s a lot more, but they don’t deliver. Mario & Salvo’s is the best pizza in the area if you are getting delivery, that’s for sure. And they are fast, I usually only have to wait 30 – 45 minutes regardless of what I order. Good Sicilian pizza too.

As most reviews have probably already noted, this is likely the best pizza in the area! Consistency of the«quality» of the pies could be better(you know when they’ve knocked it out of the park!!!). But you cannot go wrong ordering pizza — and from an amazing array of toppings/specialties — from Mario & Salvos!

not as good as Paladino’s and Pavones but its up there. My advice is to ask for the pizza«well done» — its so crispy and good when you ask. Pizza is good either way though. Excellent pizza. The owner’s are awesome but the counter staff can be rude at times. Definitely worth a try and many of my friends consider this their #1 choice for pizza in Syracuse.

They are the best! I can’t come to Syracuse and not have Mario and Salvos. It is my favorite NY style pizza ever! The crust especially is pure perfection. My family also loves their wings. Wish I could have some right now…

How dare anyone give this place five stars. Pizza, wings, calzones, sandwiches very pathetic. The bottom of the pizza was black and burned. Calzones are poorly made and not very much filling inside them. Sandwiches use very cheap poor quality meats. The restaurant is very dumpy with a truckstop feel to it.

This place is really good, and the people there(the owners!) are friendly. You can get the pizza by the slice or whole… I had a broccoli and cheese pizza which was delicious… I highly recommend!

Really superb. The style is thin crust pizza a la Johnny’s in the Village. The subs are terrific(meatball subs to die for). The people who work here are great, we’ve known Mario for years and he is a genuinely nice guy who loves what he does. This is our pizza joint, and it should be yours too.

After hearing about Mario and Salvo’s in the paper, I thought I’d give it a try. Apparently, everyone else in a 50 mile radius had the same idea. Mario and Salvos is located in a little strip mall. Parking is tight. You need to show up as someone is leaving to have a spot. Kind of sub-optimal. First of all, the pizza here is actually pretty good. Thin, chewy crust. I would have liked it if it was a little warmer. I also ordered some wings and garlic knots to give them a try. The wings were OK. They were probably sitting around a while. Never got any garlic knots. I was told I wasn’t getting them as I was paying. Apparently they took my order but were out of them. I want to talk about the customer service a little. When I ordered my pizza at 6, I was told 30 minutes. When I got there 30 minutes later, I don’t think they had started to make it yet. They were pretty backed up. I think they must have had at least 30 to 40 pizza orders to fill and getting more with every ring of the phone. The guy who I talked to was apologetic and said it would be another 10 or 15 minutes. I told him my name so I would know when it was ready. 15 or so minutes later, I saw my name on a pizza box go on top of the oven. It took me another 10 minutes or so to get someone’s attention to get my pizza and wings. When I finally got the pizza, there was no sorry for the wait or anything like that. It was kind of off-putting. Normally it wouldn’t be a big deal, but the owner seemed like an unfriendly guy, but it could have just been the situation. The rest of the employees seemed friendly but just frazzled with how busy they were. I give them a pass because of how crazy it was. I’ll have to try it again at some point, but after the hype dies down. I’d like to get my pizza for pickup in less than an hour and not after sitting on top of the oven for 10 or 15 minutes. Who knows how long the wings were sitting before I got them. Tasty enough for a second chance.
