Can I give it a zero? The stuff is too sweet with no flavor profile… it’s American food at it’s worst.

Everything is so fresh-display cases are always being filled. The staff is so friendly and offered to cut us a slice of our favorite pie that wasn’t being offered as a daily slice. Always a stop when we are in the area from Midland. Get the coconut cream pie!

Make no mistake about it, this place is cute and yummy, but HAIRNETS are needed terribly. Maybe I’m picky, but hair hanging over food is enough to turn me off. One gal has waist length hair. It was in a pony tail, but she had it draped around and down her chest. The others have shorter hair, but it’s hair that’s clearly been styled for the day which equates to loose hairs. NETIT. It’s food! I can’t stomach going in there anymore. I wonder how many hairs they’ve had to pick out of batter? Eech.

This is the place for pies, anytime I’m visiting the Great Lake state I always stop here. My wife asked to have one sent home to her and the kids. I tried once and ate it before I made it to the Post Office. Luckily they have an on-line store now.

Stopped by the shop today around 3:00 and purchased 4 muffins, I was so surprised that they were put in a styrofoam container. Don’t you have bags with your name on them or maybe the sales associate should have put them in a pie box. So surprised, there was no advertising at all. I know Linda is all about presentation but not this time, too embarrassed to give them to anyone in this container.

It won all those pie awards for a reason! We drove out of our way home from lansing to stop here and it was ll worth it. It’s sort of a rushed, chaotic atmosphere if you’re eating there, but that’s not why you am e so don’t let it bother you. Don’t just get the pie,(caramel apple and chocolate chess were jaw droppingly good,), because the cookies are the real surprise. Take a look at other Unilocalers photos. Glad I did because I might’ve missed them without the tip.

I have to update my review based on the ease I was able to get an unexpected last minute whole pie here recently. The woman on the phone was extremely helpful and professional and gave some great suggestions for a non-fruit pie. Her customer service skills went a long way with me and contribute mostly to my higher rating. I opted for the vanilla chocolate combination pie. The pie was good, but a bit too decadent for my taste, not being a whipped cream lover(it was everywhere!). Next time, I’ll stick with the plain chocolate and special order sans whipped cream.

My aunt brings pies from Sweetie Pie to every family gathering. I have never tasted anything like them before. Always a fresh, homemade, right-outta-the-oven feel, look and taste. Last night we were lucky enough to have 3 of these hip hugging pies at our family dinner, and I literally just stood in my kitchen and ate the leftover Lemon-Pecan(OMG!) for breakfast. Oops. I might have had a little bit of the Key-lime raspberry as well… its fruit, right? I never have enough room on my plate for ice cream when I have a slice of these pies, but I can imagine the party in my mouth that would take place.
