Spring Valley Trout Farm

This is not a bad place to go fish they have trout and catfish staff is willing and helpful they supply bait bamboo sticks if you need it the only downfall is the pricing it will cost you five dollars a person just to step foot on their property after that you pay for each fish by the pound also they will clean it for a fee not bad but adds up very quick we caught five catfish and two trout our bill was $ 65 and that was with 10% off if you decide to go just make sure you bring your wallet

We just had a wonderful time there with several kids. The kids were all able to catch trout after a while and some help from the staff, and we are looking forward to a nice dinner tonight. The grounds are lovely and clean and everything is pretty close together so it is very easy to supervise kids and for everyone to have a nice time. There are a couple of nice playground sets for kids and a volleyball court. Kids can watch the fish getting filleted and cleaned and that’s pretty fun. It did seem to be easier if you bring your own reel rod, but after a while we caught four rainbow trout with their bamboo pole. 4 trout cleaned and prepared to take home was about $ 37 plus $ 5 dollars for two people to get in.

My family was visiting Ann Arbor for a week and I needed to keep our two young boys entertained. My kids and I have no experience fishing but that didn’t matter. The farm supplied the poles and bait and told us what to do. The fish practically jumped out of the water and into our bucket. The staff were exceptionally helpful and courteous. Every time one of the boys caught something they came out of the cabin right away and helped us get the fish off the hook and into the bucket. Then they cleaned the fish, filleted it and put it on ice. We didn’t get back to our hotel until a few hours later and even under those conditions, the fish didn’t stink a bit, not even when we cooked it in our mini kitchen. It was the best fish we’ve ever eaten and my boys were thrilled to have caught it themselves.
