Magical Steps

If you are looking for a dance studio that is technically sound, family oriented, and reasonably priced then Magical Steps is the right place for you! I found this dance studio while I was waiting for our taxes to be done in the Ranch Center in Diamond Bar. I dropped in to check out the studio and it’s been part of my children’s lives for over 2 years now. My first interaction was with Ms Sarita she was very professional, friendly and detailed. Miss Megan teaches many of the dance classes, Musical Theater and singing. They have a wonderful friendly staff that teaches piano, guitar, violin, tumbling/​acro and many dance classes, like Miss Ashley that teaches Pretty Princess dance classes. Her mom mines the front desk and all the little requests the students may have. The dad we see time and again working behind the scenes creating props for her shows.
My kids warmed up to this studio atmosphere right away. They have taken ballet, hip hop, jazz and now venturing into The Musical Theater Production. They love it! Not only is Miss Megan fundamentally sound in her teaching, but her personality and coaching style will win you over. She is also very actively involved in the choreography of each routine. I recommend this studio for kids of all ages and ability. The family oriented atmosphere is refreshing and provides lots of laughter, learning and love for dance and the Arts. As a parent, consider this studio you will not be disappointed.

It’s been slightly over a year since my daughter started dancing in this studio, she is now 3 ½ years old. She started out in 2, sometimes 3 classes. And as time progress, she has tried the singing class, hip pop, tumbling, jazz, tap/​ballet, and princess ballet. Honestly, my daughter loves all of them! It came to a point where we are in the studio almost 4 days a week and she still wants to take piano lesson, ribbon and vocal class. Miss Megan and Miss Sarita’s classes are just that good! The newer teacher, Miss Ashley, is just as good. They are consistent in their teaching, professional, and prompt! And oh! They are super in communicating with parents! I would always receive a text message if the teacher is out absent. And if my child is ever absent, she can always make it up as long as she attends the dance class within the same age group. When you walk in, to your left there is two music rooms, to your right there is a dance store for all your dance gears. Then there are two dance rooms once you walk passed the front desk. You can learn ballet, tap, jazz, hip pop, tumbling, ribbon, vocal (singing), piano, guitar, and violin here.
Magical steps have a performance dance team that students would do competitions and/​or performances. Their performances consist of knotts, disney, etc. how do I know? Because my daughter just joined the team! We can’t wait to experience all the fun experiences ahead of us and until then, I’ll post another update of my review;)

This place is a great studio for young dancers. My younger sister goes here and she absolutely loves it. They make you feel like family, partially because it’s a family business.
They’re always willing to go the extra mile to make sure the students have a ride to practice or the performances. The performances are abundant and range from locations like the local high school to the OC fair.
Megan and her mother Sarita have created a great environment. I’ve never had a bad experience here and I’d recommend it to anyone.

I have to agree with Robin’s comments. My 3 yr old daughter started in April and loves the school and looks forward to going to every class. She’s always so excited, she practically runs through the door straight to Ms. Megan to say hi and get started with class (even if there is another class going on at the time).
They had an informal recital a couple of weeks ago and it was the first time my daughter has ever been on stage, as well as performing in front of strangers. She loved it and during the recital, the school let her participate with other classmates for classes the didn’t take just to help give her exposure. There is nothing like seeing the look on my daughter’s face while we are there. I love it.
It’s been a great experience and I hope to continue there for a long time to come. This is a family owned studio and from my experience they treat everyone that is there as part of the family. I would recommend this school to everyone.

I have watched my shy daughter transform into a wonderful and confidant dancer because of Ms. Meagan and this wonderful studio. She has been dancing at Magical Steps for 1 year now, and it truely is the high light of my daughters day to go to dance. Very warm and friendly atmosphere. Extremely affordable prices. Finding this studio has been a Godsend. They also offer piano lessons, Zumba, and a bootcamp. Its an experience the whole family can enjoy! I cant recommend this studio enough.

I took my daughter to get experience. This is entry level dancing only. If you want to expose your child to dance the prices are good here but that’s about it. I was going here for quite a while. We ordered $ 75 worth of pictures from a dance recital and never received the pictures. Then were told that we had signed for it. Super unorganized. And the proof they submitted was scribbled on scratch paper that didn’t match anyonesignature from my family’s signature. Their resolution was to reorder the pictures but wanted me to pay half. I’ve never gone back and will never recommend this place to anyone.

I was looking for a dance studio that had some program that catered specifically to young (preschool) dancers. Magical Steps– Music and Dance Academy seems to fit the bill with a friendly staff and lovely teacher in Ms. Megan.
My 3 y/​o daughter just started and she fell in love with the place on her first day. The prices are VERY good and the flexibility in the schedule is pretty good as well. I look forward to a great experience for my daughter as she increases in her confidence not just as a new dancer but as a she makes friends and increases her social circle. Apparently they also offer some fitness and music classes and along with space for private parties as well.
I’ll be back to review once my daughter gets a few more classes under her belt but for now its looking pretty good!
