Mainbao Chinese Restaurant

I am amazed there is a Chinese place that does NOT deliver but then again, Main Bo doesn’t have to! Yes, they are THAT good! Last night my son ordered orange chicken and I ordered pork lo mien. We also had egg rolls and crab rangoon. The rangoon was a bit chewy but good none the less. My lo mien came with fried pork rice and an egg roll and it was delicious! The orange chicken came with white rice and there was plenty to share. This is the first time we have ordered from Main Bo and as I write this, my son is on his way to pick up our order for tonight! It’s a small place in a strip mall in Diamond. Definitely family run and truly a hidden gem. If you are looking for delicious Chinese food in the Coal City, Diamond area, check out Main Bo. They have a wide selection of dishes that are incredibly good. Oh, and did I mention that our entire order was $ 27?! Well worth it!

This place stayed open until 12 am so that I could place on order. They were supposed to close at 11 pm. Awesome people and food too!

Ordered the crab rangoon, veggie rolls and the chicken broccoli lunch special. The veggie rolls were so fresh and hot, highly recommend. My daughter ate the rangoon and lunch special was for my daughter. She said both were delicious. The lunch special came with A LOT of food; chicken, broccoli, carrots, and fried rice. Way too much food for 1 sitting. This is a carry out place only. No delivery, no sit down. The prices were reasonable, too. The lunch special was only $ 5.95 Restaurant was clean & did not smell greasy. Staff was very friendly, too!

Best Chinese food in town. Actually some of the best chinese takeout I’ve had.
A little pricey to feed a family of 5, and no delivery takes it down a star.

Im seeing that they are now closed. Am sorry to see this. I get out that way occasionally, as my best friend lives in Braidwood. Wanted to stop in and treat my lady friend who is Taiwanese to their cooking.

This is by far the BEST Chinese food I have ever had!
I consider myself lucky that I am so close to this place.
I always get the Gerenal Tso’s Chicken. The quality of the chicken is excellent! There are no chunks of fat in it like other places always have.
The sauce they cook it in is also the best I have had.
I have never been disappointed, and the food is always consistent!
I highly recommend Mainbao to anybody!
BTW: this is a carryout chinese place. Sadly, they do not deliver as of yet.
