The service itself was okay– I got stitches. The staff was friendly, but took forever to get any actual care, like most emergency rooms. My greater disappointment came later when, after paying a $ 150 copay, the facility is extracting another $ 126 from me. Among my itemized charges is a $ 135 charge for«measure blood oxygen.» They charge $ 135 to apply a pulse oximeter for a couple of minutes. That’s like charging you $ 135 for a blood pressure reading. When I called the billing department and labored through their automated answering service, the person I eventually spoke to wasn’t willing to work with me at all. He refused to transfer me to a manager and used circular logic to explain the charge. There’s a statement in the bill indicating the account will be sent to collections within 45 days, and they also make the bill due«upon receipt.» Essentially, if you try to fight the charges in any significant way, you will end up with a bad account in collections. If you enjoy unpredictably high medical bills after mediocre service, go here. If you enjoy ruining your credit, go here. Otherwise, find another provider.

Going to the ER or hospital is never planned or something you would look forward to, but I must say my visit to First Choice Emergency was rather pleasant! The entire staff was so nice and friendly, the hospital was very clean and I felt comfortable three out my entire visit even to the moment I left. I was seen immediately, had my own private room, was taken back for x-rays promptly and the results came back very fast. The doctor sat down showed me the x-rays explained everything to my understanding and how to care for it after I left. I will be returning for any further injuries, I loved the staff and the care I was given.
