We were reluctant to stop here after reading some less then good reviews on customer service but decided to give it a try. So glad we did! The gentleman behind the counter was helpful in explaining what ingredients were in all the different pizzas. The garlic knots were amazing… definitely in line with what you’d get in NY. Pizza was delicious(had a white pizza and tomato slice with garlic and Parm cheese on top) my hubbie also got a cheese slice and enjoyed it. We paid $ 16 for 3 slices, 6 garlic knots and two ice teas. Not bad considering the pizza is speciality

After reading the reviews, we decided to give it a shot. It has a cafeteria atmosphere and sound level to match. We felt as if we were an annoyance to the waitress until she brought the check. The Pizza was alright, but certainly not the best in the area. Price was a little high for the offering

Their specialty pizzas are to die for. I make a special trip for it every time I come home to PA! Vodka sauce pizza is my favorite.

The food here is pretty good, but I think it is overpriced. They have recently started delivering and it is a nice option for an area(Olyphant) that lacks delivery.

Allow the sweet aroma of roasted garlic to tickle your nose as you cross the threshold. Turn and gaze at the hand painted murals of grandeur. Your ears catch the sounds of bepop floating in the air. Order a tall glass of chianti from the smiling waitress. Then, sink your teeth into a fresh slice of heaven atop a crispy crust as you look your love in the eyes. Even though you can’t quite believe it, you are still in Scranton.

Food was great, but the middle-aged man that was making the pizzas was really rude to us. My bf was pretty upset by his attitude. We may try their other location, and hopefully there will be less rudeness and better service.

I got food poisoning from the buffalo chicken pizza. I should have known better. It looked like it was sitting there for a long time, but I was starving. Plus at $ 4+ a slice. No thanks.

I’m not a pizza eater, but the Tuscany Salad is very good. I will return for it in the future. The menu says it’s big enough for 2. I’d say that’s true if your are also eating an entrée or pizza, but if it is intended to be your meal, it’s probably a solo plate. The grilled veggies and warm basamlic are very tasty. The setup was strange and I wasn’t impressed with the service. If I had been greeted and it was explained the front end was line service, but waitstaff and full service was available in the back, it would have improved my experience. Next time I will know. Also, tap water tasted like rubbery funky ick.

The fresh mozzarella and tomato is so delicious. Definitely worth the price. We tried the vodka sauce pizza today and it is so good! Glad we ordered a tray so we had leftovers.

Visited for lunch. The self service tables were full so we opted for the server section. We placed our order with the waitress which took some time but we were okay due to us getting settled. We ordered some pizza, garlic knots, and two calzones and salad. Things came out piece meal which made it feel like we’re not dining at a restaurant but more like a food truck. The calzones arrived and one was cold and the other was charred and served cut in half which is unusual. The other was ordered with sausage and appeared as if it had some surgery to add the sausage(supposedly made to order but seemed partially premade). The garlic knots were cold and charred at the same time showing that they were reheated but not reheated enough. Both the calzone and garlic knots were sent back. Seven minutes later, we were told the calzone would take an additional fifteen minutes to be cooked and do we still want a replacement.(This question seemed likes discouragement towards a replacement) As a replacement, we ordered tortellini soup and a salad. The soup that was brought out was cold and appeared to be made by an eight year old who just poured tortellini into a bowl of broth. In addition, the tortellini was under cooked and cold. The garlic knots were the same ones sent back and were warmer but still charred. We asked to speak with the manager and was told that no manager was present. To be fair, the pizza ordered and the tap water was delicious. I would say to only order pizza and tap water if you plan to make this your dining destination. It should be noted that we have been coming to this Basilicas for years and it was always a shining star. Something has certainly changed and needs to be rectified,

Review based on a quick stop in to order a couple slices and seat ourselves with no service. Handful of pies to choose from for heated slices. Went with the Chicken Parm slice and a Marinara slice. Both luke warm. The chicken was quite dry and the sauce lacked any flavor. Marinara slice was the better of the two. Thin sicilian(thick Grandma pie for you New Yorkers) with a nice flavored sauce. Very crispy crust without being dry. The zeppole were the hit here. Made fresh and you can order in multiples of 3. They were amazing. One note, the self serve tables were filthy. Please get someone on the floor monitoring as this was a bit of a turn off when eating. Young people behind the counter and it showed. Very little words and no smiles. Ah, kids these days…

We’ve been to Basilico’s twice. Both times we opted for a table with wait staff service and both times the service was quick, kind and attentive. The pizza is phenomenal. Even my picky New York husband loves it. We’ve also gotten their pasta, which was well cooked and the sauce was delicious. It tasted homemade, like by a real Italian«nonna» who knows how to make a good sauce! All in all, we love the place and will definitely be back!

Don’t go all the way to New York for pizza when the best pizza in the world is right here. The best value pizza in the entire world. There’s not much to say… the pizza speaks for itself. Do yourself a favor and grab a few slices or a tray of pizza, it is the best I’ve ever had. I recommend the Buffalo Chicken with Bleu Cheese«Buff Chick with Bleuch», but try out anything that catches your eye because you can stuff your face for 10 bucks. Skip all the Dickson City Chains, go here.

Basilico’s is truly as good as it gets in NEPA. The’ve perfected the NY style pizza doh, and the ingredients are always fresh. A little on the pricey side, but well worth it if you’re looking for a gourmet pizza option. 4 stars because they could keep the place more tidy.

The best pizza in town full of AWFUL pizza!!! Totally holds its weight against pizza from Philly and NY! Went to pick up a take out order and the guy helping me was awesome! Talked to him about my infant daughters allergy to milk and he genuinely gave me good advice based on his personal experience. Truly great service and the Sicilian pizza is awesome!

18 inch pizza comes in handy for family of 4. Prices were good, yet I found our specialty pizza to be a bit over priced. We had the chicken bacon honey mustard and it was $ 22 yet the other specialties were under $ 18 so not sure why ours was so much higher. It was just cheese, chicken, bacon and HM sauce. Pizza weighed a ton! The amount of toppings that they put on could feed a third world country! Crust was very good, not the best I have ever had, but really good for being outside the NY/New Haven area which is famous for their pizzas. Service wasn’t great. They forgot our additional slice of Buffalo after waiting 20 minutes for our pie to cook, so that was annoying. NO sorry or anytihg, just threw it in the oven and handed it to me. Luckily I didn’t have to leave a tip since it was self-serve. So they lose a star for their lack of personality.

Stopped in here for lunch yesterday. They had many nice looking pizzas to pick from. I chose their version of a panini which had sauteed broccoli rabe, fresh soft mozzarella and s very light puffed shell, heated to just melt the cheese… Tasty morsels. My husband chose the siselian pizza which was made well. We finished off with a zeppoli(an italian donut) which was warmed up.

My favorite place in the Scranton area to get a slice, hands down. NY style, meaning that your pies are behind glass, and you pick the slices that you want.(There is also a sit-down area with a full menu.) We stop in here often for a slice when we’re in Dickson CIty for shopping. The slices that we normally get are: Sicilian, grandma, vodka, Brooklyn and Margarita. Soups: Pasta Fagioli and Escarole/bean. Family members LOVE the Caesar slice, but I have not tried it. It looks a bit over-loaded to me, and definitely not pizza… Just lettuce, chicken and dressing on pizza crust. If you both can agree, a full pie is way, way cheaper than ordering by the slice. If you mix and match slices, the quality is great but it’s very expensive.

My friend brought a vodka pizza over to our house in Albany. Even though it had been in the car for a while it was still SO good! I tried a few different funky pizzas in NEPA(American cheese on one??) and now I finally understand what all the hype is about. I can’t wait to go back and try some fresh pizza and different types. I thought the sauce was so good and it was just very interesting and different than a plain pie. I don’t know how it didn’t get soggy with all that sauce and the car ride, but somehow it was still good for days.
