La Cabana

So GOOD! Killer salsas (secret menu too), great mole’ and JUMBO margaritas that are the simple fresh, superior kind!

Shredded lettuce shredded cheese a slop of sour cream and guacamole with unseasoned ground beef does not make a taco salad. It makes soup :(no other veggies at all and the taco shell was under cooked
Service was nice enough and the place was pretty

This restaurant is a bit of a mixed bag. We’ve visited the location in Clayton — this one is in Dillard occupying a big space that once held a BBQ place as I recall. There’s some interesting white cedar post-​and-​beam work and huge murals that appear to be hand-​painted. The food in general was good with a couple of exceptions. The salsa here is crap — tasted like something from a Sisco food-​service gallon jar. The chips were fresh but had a bit of an oily taste to them — with the salsa they were pretty bad.
We had a variety of plates and for the most part the food was good — the exception was the guacamole — wow that was bad — not that it tasted bad, but it really had the consistency and taste of green-​flavored sour cream. It’s surprising as the pico was very good and the side of hot sauce served with my carnitas was exceptional — blazing hot, smoky and thick. The pork was a bit fatty and seemed twice-​cooked. I tasted the mole on the stuffed poblano and it was very passable — bit of a mixed bag here.

I was part of a group of 4 on vacation from Florida.
We were craving Mexican food and felt quite lucky to have found La Cabana.
All of their food is top-​notch, and on point. All 4 of us left full and happy.
It’s easy to mess up simple table salsa and refried beans, but they were really excellent here.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area and craving affordable, quality Tex-​Mex fare!

My group came in and another 2 groups came in 20 minutes after us and they received their food first. And another 10 minutes goes by and nothing… horrible service! I’m not impressed. Very small dining room and holes in the table cloths

Excellent food, great Service. I had the Two Burrito special. It was hot and deilcious. The service was prompt and very good. Price was very resonable. We had beer with the meal for two, under 30.00

Great service. Server greeted us warmly and brought great chips and salsa. Menu was well stocked and prices were great, even for the kids.
Food took a normal amount of time which told me it was actually made per order versus the instant Mexican we get at places at home. When the meals arrived, everything tasted great and the portions were large.
I now understand why the parking lot is always busy!

La Cabaña always delivers excellence. The chips are hot and crunchy, salsa is consistently delicious. If you’re not sure what to order, you’ll never be disappointed with the chicken chimichangas.

This is Mexican at its best. Very friendly staff and service is excellent, we eat there often and they always remember what we like as far as salsas, dips and drinks without asking. We highly recommend this restaurant if you like good Mexican.
