I went to Joanna at Expressions by Tanya today… She got my hair to where I’ve wanted it to be for quite a while. She is really awesome! We had a *very* thorough consultation when I arrived, and it was obvious to me that she wants to make sure that her client knows what will be happening and clear how the hair will look when finished. I have curly hair. For years I have been looking for a stylist and was referred to Elise at Expressions by a girl I saw in public who had a great curly hair cut. When I explained what I did not want in a curly hair cut, Elise knew exactly what I was talking about. She also did not use a razor on my hair. She did not change my hair drastically, she simply listened to what my wishes were and explained that it would need to be shaped and maintained over a few visits. She was correct, and already I can see that the lines in her cut were right for me. I was very pleased with her knowledge and consultation. Though it was only my first time, I really felt confident that she is promising and very skilled at curly hair styles.

I cannot speak to the nail or spa services, but the hair salon services are top notch! Vanessa was my stylist, and was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Since it was my first time as a customer of hers, she spent ample time doing a consultation with me. We looked through magazines, pictures on her phone, etc to find the perfect color that I had a hard time verbalizing. As far as the cut consultation, she really listened to what I wanted that day plus took into account the fact that I plan on growing it out. She did an absolutely fabulous job, and I will be a customer of hers for life! The salon itself was very clean and the décor was nice. I was offered a beverage upon arriving (delicious coffee!). The other stylists also seemed friendly and warm. I consider it to be an upscale salon (I have lived in Philly and Miami), but the prices were reasonable and no one had a pretentious attitude. Two thumbs up!
