Boardwalk Grill

I live in DB and drop in every now and then. I love the ambiance, the location (being on the water at the Marina), being able to eat outside at night in the middle of a winter rain storm, etc but… Although the food is ok, the service isn’t really very good. It is just ok. Never got things We asked for, never got offered refills on drinks, never asked if we wanted desert which we did because their deserts are so yummy (the waiter just brought us our check), that kind of thing. I will continue to come here because I want to support local businesses and I do love the place.

Everyone I come in the food is amazing! You can’t get better food anywhere else, and the staff is really sweet :)

I went there with a friend who had been to Boardwalk Grill in the past. We sat outside on the lovely patio and enjoyed iced tea while our food was being cooked. We enjoyed huge portions of food, enough to take home ¾ of it and both the hamburger w/​fries and my taco salad were excellent. The service was efficient and effective leaving us without much wait time at all for anything. We noticed that folks were watching sports inside and that there were numerous tables in there for those who might not want to be outside in the elements. I’ll go there again, for sure!

We decided to try this place on a beautiful sunny day because they have a gorgeous outdoor seating area viewed the Discovery Bay marina. It’s such a peaceful to have a drink in an amazing day! But not in this place again!
So why two stars:
The place need a serious clean and remodeling!!!
The tables and chairs outside were dirty and there was spider web everywhere.
The restroom was discussing! The floor, walls, doors were with oil stains.
There was dust everywhere you just look.
To be honest I didn’t feel comfortable seating in such a mess!
I didn’t order any thing to eat except drink. My kids were hungry. We ordered some kids pasta, garlic cheese bread and French Fries.
The service was poor. The waiter came to us 15 min after we were seated. And to ask for napkins or Parmesan cheese it took another 10 min.
I won’t go there again until they will clean, remodeling and make a change in service.
This place have a very good potential to be a 5 stars restaurant. They’re in an amazing location!

This is a beautiful restaurant with a wonderful menu. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The prices are a little high but the menu items are so innovative and beautifully presented I didn’t mind. Okay, the three stars… my meal was delicious, seriously heavenly. It was the Ahi Benedict. My husband had the Huevos Ranchero and they were barely edible. The eggs were hard, no runny yolk, the tortilla was like leather and it had either been microwaved or left in an oven too long because it was like cement. He should have sent it back but did mention it to the waitress when asked. She said she was sorry. He doesn’t want to go back but hopefully we will give them a second chance.

I can’t believe I first reviewed this place 5 years ago. My husband and I love this restaurant. The food is always good, actually its better than good, its great. We often go for Mimosa’s and breakfast munchies. Have been for lunches and dinners as well. I have no complaints. We always have great service. On a very rare occasion it might be slow, but as long as I have my drink, don’t mind to much waiting as I know the food is going to rock. I love that is right on the water of course too, so when we are cruising the delta, we can just pull right up and have lunch!

Seafood rigatoni is soooooo good. Atmosphere is on point and the staff was great. We will be back soon!

Love going to the Boardwalk! The service is amazing. Love their salad. The atmosphere is gorgeous and relaxing.

I have eaten here a number of times and have no complaints, all the food was great and the service as well. Nice pet friendly outside eating area as well!

Hate to only give it one star but man this place is declining. Went in a few months back for dinner and there were tons of flys. I understand it’s impossible to keep every fly out but I shouldn’t have to constantly swat flys away from my food while I eat.
And today I ordered a Tri tip sandwich with fries for takeout and the presentation was horrible. Looked like they just slapped the meat on a piece of bread (see picture), not to mention that it was SUPER salty. I could only eat half of it because of all the salt. I feel like calling bar rescue lol.
I hope someone from there reads this and makes the necessary adjustments because I really like the place and hate to give it one star.

Went in this evening. To pick up a to go order. Had the same brunette waitress look at me multiple times as she walked by, not asking if I had been helped. A few minutes later someone came to ask if I had been helped. They made my milkshake when I got there so it wasn’t melted. I got home my shake was terrible and tasted like cold milk. I bit into my burger and looked down. It was barely even cooked. I love going to the boardwalk but lately it has been okay. But this time was terrible! I will not be going back.

We love this spot! Any chance we have we’ll stop here. Good food and service. We live in Disco so good food on the Water is fairly limited. One of our favorites.

This place is pretty great, I don’t know why I have never heard of it. It was very slow, probably because it was Monday, but it was nice to relax and get served by the water. I had the asian chicken wrap with garlic fries which was so good! Service was fast and friendly I just don’t know why we weren’t given a drink menu. You have to ask for one and they gave my dad the wrong beer and when he questioned it they said they were correct. My dad has been drinking this beer for probably 20 or 30+ years so he would probably know if it was or was not the beer he ordered.

We’ve been regular diners here since last year.
It’s not unusual on busy days with nice weather (say, today for example) to have to wait 15 or 20 minutes for a table, as we did today. We have no problem with that.
However, on our last two visits, we walked in and were not acknowledged or greeted by staff even though they were RIGHT THERE when we came in. Please, please, have the courtesy to greet the people who are paying your bills, okay?
Today’s visit: We arrived about 11:45 am. No acknowledgement until I said ‘Hi, can we get on the list?” We knew we’d have to wait for a table, as I said… no problem with that.
Hubby excused himself to go to the mens restroom… and immediately reappeared, saying the toilet was out of order. They’d put up a sign. So, he left the restaurant and headed over toward the Harbormaster’s building so he could use the bathroom there.
In the meantime, I was waiting at the front of the restaurant for him to return… and of course, to be escorted to a free table. And while I was waiting, I watched several men walk into the men’s bathroom, only to WALK OUT AND THEN GO INTO THE LADIES ROOM… I mean, what else should they be expected to do if they needed to use a toilet? Should one be expected to leave the building and seek a restroom elsewhere?
So, I mentioned to the hostess that apparently the mens room was out of order, and had they called a plumber? She said they knew it was clogged or whatever, but didn’t answer my question about the plumber and immediately called the next party so she could escort them to their table. I felt kind of… dissed.
Finally, I was shown to a table outside, still waiting for my husband to come back from the restroom in the Harbormaster’s building. There was a bottle of ketchup and salt and pepper shakers on the table… but no place settings, no napkins or silverware.
My husband came in; the server appeared and took our order. Someone else delivered our food to our table, and asked if we’d like anything else. We had to ask for silverware and napkins… and the dipping sauce for the sweet potato fries.
The crab melt on foccacia (my favorite menu item there) was delicious as usual. Hubby had the taco salad, which he said was okay but could have been better. I had a few bites of that myself and thought it was pretty good.
We gave our server a far greater tip than she deserved, simply because we wanted to get out on the water and didn’t want to wait for her to return with our change.
Before we left, my husband asked to speak with the manager, Chris, who turned out to also be the owner. Chris was in the kitchen cooking… and he didn’t seem to really care about the mens’ room not being usable.
I for one was annoyed that men felt they had to use the ladies’ room… and even more annoyed that the ladies room has one stall with no toilet paper holder. It’s been that way for weeks. Any chance they”ll take care of that issue too?
In the restaurant business — where I’ve worked before in my life, there is simply no excuse for not greeting your guests when they arrive, if you’re right there to do so. And there is ZERO excuse for not having clean restrooms in operating condition. I, like many others, assume that if your restrooms aren’t clean, your kitchen probably isn’t very clean either.
We’ll probably eat there again… it’s the only place around unless you belong to the local country club or feel like driving a bit — but frankly, if out-​of-​order restrooms are not taken care of next time I’m there, I’m going to call the health department. I don’t want to encounter any more men in the ladies’ room because a restaurant doesn’t want to bother with taking care of their plumbing.
Shame on you Boardwalk Grill. You can do better than that, can’t you?

I love this place! It’s close to home, I can eat outside and always great service. We usually have dinner here, brunches and occasional lunch. It’s a casual fun place to eat, our daughter loves it! We just ate breakfast here last weekend and it was fantastic! It’s so nice to have a restaurant close enough to paddleboat to. I love the food and drinks.

3 stars for the view of the water and outdoor seating on the delta.
Food is mediocre at best.
Service is the worst.
Price for everything is ridiculous.
Only come here if you want a good view over some drinks…

30 minute wait for a table.
After being seated we were then told there is a 30 minute wait for the food orders.
43 minutes later…(rating the food on a scale from 1 – 10, 10 being perfect)

Blue cheese ciabatta– 7, Delish!
Bacon cheeseburger– 5, tasted pretty good
The drinks were never empty and the service was good.

Highly recommend the chicken Milano! It was delicious! Cream sauce with bell peppers and mushrooms was the perfect lunch and carbs I needed! I grew up in this area and this is a nice upgrade from woody’s! I’ll be back with friends and family!
Also tried the salmon florentine and it’s gonna be a repeat for sure!!! Chris and Erica are personable and friendly. Ty the bartender is great!!!

I came in here last night because I wasn’t in the mood to cook anything. So I decided I might as well try this place out since it’s so close!
When I walked in, all I could smell was the restrooms. And I noticed the floor & walls were in really shoddy condition, and the place is in desperate need of a remodel or pressure washing.
The server was really nice, my order (of fish tacos) came out pretty quickly & they didnt get anything wrong. I got all the sauces & stuff on the side with no cheese. Everything was good. The sweet potato fries were awesome!
I’d come back again, but more out of desperation. The décor & the condition of the place really need help, it could be such a nice place if they did a update/​remodel!
