I tried 3 other movers before settling on Atlas. Julia, who is based in VA, was a terrific coordinator and the move from DC to a home in LA went as smoothly as it could. Atlas did take up the maximum number of days to do the move(it was over the holidays) but that was OK for me. Julia worked with me every step of the way and was available by cell at pickup and delivery and showed up to the house when the movers picked up our goods. I had a piano + 200 other items so it was not a small move.

Do not move with this company. The people they have who sign you up are extremely pleasant, but that doesn’t make up for the fact that the process of getting them to move your things is completely driven by you. I was quoted for one pod for a multi-state move and told I would receive a call to set up a time to package something the day before and then a call telling me when the movers would get there. I received neither of those calls, and in fact had to call the moving company about 5 times to get them to tell me that they didn’t know. Eventually, both the craters and the movers just showed up when they felt like it. Next, the movers arrived, only to tell me that I would need an extra pod, which would be an additional $ 650. When I called to complain, the guy I have worked with before was on lunch, which is fine, but there was no one else to take my call nor did he call me back when I left a message. I was told that the items would arrive on Day X, with three guys in the truck. The items arrived, once again, on their own schedule with no call, with two guys who were confused by why my building had stairs. Several items were broken, and to make matters worse, one of the guys who was sweating like crazy sat on my leather chair flipping his hair around. After they had left, I had to call the moving company another 10 times to get the guy to pick up my phone call, and to his credit, he offered me a $ 300 credit for them being late on both sides. I still asked to speak to his manager, and the guy didn’t call me back for two and a half weeks, until I emailed and demanded to speak to him again, when it still took him three days to pick up the phone. I then complained about the service, and he offered me further compensation, after some accusatory statements about why I should pay for an extra pod that I was misquoted for. Then, they sent me a damages claim form, which I filled out, only to find out that their policy prevents them from reimbursing underneath $ 400… This company has TERRIBLE customer service, save your money and go elsewhere.
