Manhasset, NY
Dix Hills skating park is a very nice facility. It has two regulation rinks with open skating sessions. There are leagues and pick up games as well. The Lady Islanders a regional girls hockey team plays out of the Dix Hills Rinks. It is also a nice venue to host a birthday party. The snack bar is nice we recommend the chicken fingers and fries, Mrs. Good cookie is a good sweet treat.

Public session! One end of the rink was reserved for Private Hockey lesson, the other end was reserved for Figure skate group lesson, the Center of the rink was reserved for private Figure skate lesson. All you can do was skate around the circle. If you were gonna do this, please open a special session for LESSON ONLY.
Yet, one of the woman coach with the glasses there was so nasty, she chased a little kids out of center area (where it should be the safest area for them to skate) so that she could run her private lesson and make money.

Could have been colder, other than that… No complaints. You will be the only adult here on a Friday night, but who cares? There’s a dj!:)

Ice Skating is alive and well on Long Island. The place was packed with mostly kids, skating around with smiles on their faces. They have two rinks. I was told we were at the newer of the two. The place looks well
Managed and the rink looked like it was in great shape. Some kids were getting private lessons during the public session. Some beginner, some figure skaters, and some hockey were being taught on ice. All in all, a very pleasant experience. Time to buy some Bauers.

kinda run down. It’s okay for the area, and it’s nice to have an ice rink– but it could be a lot nicer.

Long Island, NY
This rink is run down and dilapidated, and I was last here quite a few years ago. There were many talks of redoing the place, but that has never happened. The parking lot needs to be re-​paved, the inside smells of feet and dirty ice, and the ice is not even at all and not very well maintained.
However, there were many mornings and evenings I came here to train, and it was really conviently located by my parent’s old house.
I do miss watching the sun rise in the early morning through the windows at the top of the building as I skated on the ice, often alone.
