Cute little place. Food was good though they completely messed up mine and my Husbands order we just sucked it up and ate it. But would recommend

What a pleasant surprise to discover this unique, friendly café during our trip to Maine. The food was great, I had the grilled haddock sandwich and my wife had the rueben that she thoroughly enjoyed. Sammy was an incredible host who made us feel right at home. If I could give a 6-star rating this place would have it.

Breakfast for lunch was tasty. I had an omelette and my husband had French toast with bacon. Real maple syrup is available for an additional charge. The service was friendly and attentive.

Each time we’ve stopped into the The Front Porch we’ve been greeted by the most welcome ambiance and the owner. To boot the wait staff has been always friendly and provided wonderful above & beyond service. As for the menu we’ve always been by for breakfast. It has always been top notch and served quickly(crowded or not) which is saying something for such a small place, reminds me of grandma’s dinning room. Trinkets & cute placards hanging. Blueberry pancakes are AMAZING!!!

We celebrated a holiday meal for managers at the Front Porch Café. The dining area isn’t large but it was perfectly comfortable for our group of a dozen or so. We enjoyed a wide variety of dishes including vegetarian options like broccoli fettucini. The desserts were made to split for those of us who were smart. No sharing for me! I was very full when I left. We enjoyed an acapella rendition of ‘Where’s the Line to See Jesus’ before she left for a performance. Here is the original on Youtube . Lovely place to eat!

Went here craving breakfast for dinner. A couple of the reviews mention breakfast is available all day, as does their breakfast menu(«served all day»). Alas, it is not. To be fair, if you scroll down on the menu webpage it says b’fast is served 8 – 3. Had the Front Porch Passion Salad with raspberry vinaigrette, buddy had the Saw Burger with sweet potato fries. Good food, nothing special. Pink lemonade was delicious. Good atmosphere. I’d say this is 3.5 stars, but since I was wanting breakfast I’ll give it 3 stars. French toast choices looked really good.

My husband and I were up in Maine visiting his parents for Thanksgiving last week, and we decided to go out to the Front Porch Café for dinner on our last night. The restaurant itself is very cute and looks like it could be the cozy dining room of a relative who enjoys collecting plaques with pithy country sayings. We were greeted by one of the owners(the singer) and felt at home right away. The meal itself was tasty, and in particular I enjoyed my chicken pot pie. The crust was perfectly flaky and the filling was warm and delicious. AND they served it with a side of cranberry sauce, which was a nice addition. We split the peanut butter pie with ice cream for dessert, and it was decadent but airy at the same time. The waiter did forget to bring the soups and rolls before the meal, but all was forgiven. I would recommend the Front Porch Café for anyone wanting a tasty, homey meal in or near Dixfield, Maine. OH! They also had live music — a talented pianist who played an array of easy listening tunes, with some Christmas songs thrown in too. The singer owner would break out into song occasionally, which was fun to hear.

The Front Porch is a very cool local restaurant. The owners are friendly and the atmosphere is casual. It is full of all kinds of knick knacks and quirky décor The bathroom(maybe the ladies’ room) is crammed full of touristy, charming objects de art. The food is good — lots of comfort items on the menu.

The Front Porch is a delight. The owners are big fun and the food is always outstanding. The portions are huge. I don’t know how they make any money. Somebody should do something about the derelict property next door though. It’s butt-ugly and obscures the quaint façade of the Front Porch.

What a great find :) I loved the Front Porch. The ambiance reminded me of my grandmas house, full of signs, trinkets, antiques and collectibles. The owner was there greeting customers — she was full of energy and smiles to make you feel right at home. They provided a witty and local menu full of home-cooked favorites. I had the Reuben sandwich with the waitress’ suggestion — wow, delicious!!! Everyone in our party was delighted with their food — biscuits and gravy, burgers, breakfast sandwiches — not one dud in the bunch. I definitely recommend this place for a great meal and an interesting experience.

I adore this place. The owners go out of their way to make you feel completely cozy and welcome, and while the food isn’t going to make you feel like you’ve stumbled upon the next Top Chef victor, it’s definitely yummy. If you are looking for a homey, affordable, charming place to eat breakfast or lunch, Front Porch Café is pretty much perfect.
