Food was pretty good and you could tell it was made fresh because I had to wait a bit for my food. Apparently you can’t just buy 3 tacos anymore, you have to buy 6 or 10, just a heads up. I’m a little disappointed in that; I paid $ 10 for 6 tacos.

The environment was great especially if you choose to eat outside in the back porch. The plainfield burger was delicious. It’s really great to support local businesses. You definitely won’t regret it.

2 large breakfast burritos filled w/eggs, potatoes, cheese & meat choice(hubby-bacon, me-chorizo, $ 5.15 ea.) freshly made, added chips & salsa($ 1.50) — all good & filling! Disappointed no guac or sour cream available but just my Americanized palette! Next time traveling, may stop to check out lunch burritos or burgers & sweet potato fries!

So happy my wife found this place. Best quick stop for food in dixion. The tortillas are home made and have the best flavor. Try the rolled tacos or the California burrito.

They make the best tortillas! I love their quesadillas and carne asada burritos! They are definitely worth checking out, you won’t be disappointed.

Their burritos on homemade tasty tortillas are SO dope. A pastrami egg breakfast burrito saved my life during a hangover. It was loaded with cheesy real eggs and juicy pastrami. We’ve also tried their nachos which was delicious as well. I keep coming back for more.

Having just moved from So Cal, thought finding my hubby a decent California burrito would be difficult. He said the burrito was«bomb» and this was what carne asada is supposed to be! I had the taquitos… amazing. Not sure what they put in the meat, but it’s tender and full of flavor. Very pleased!

Went here in the middle of the week for lunch and ordered a burrito. The tortilla that the burrito came in was delicious, its homemade and super soft, and the meat was cooked well, but the burrito was lacking in flavor/condiments. It consisted of just cheese, beans and rice. I had gone in with the intention of ordering tacos, but after the woman helping up raved about their homemade tortilla, I switched. In the soda case, there are no diet soda options, but if you get fountain soda, diet Pepsi is available. We also got sweet potato fries, chips, and guacamole, which I would probably skip next time. I would like to come back to try the infamous tacos.

Perhaps I was being a little too harsh for a price discrepancy between the internet and their actual prices. When I went in today, I’d forgotten about their do-not-document-the-menu policy and snapped away with my phone. This time, the woman behind the counter didn’t mind and actually asked me if I was going to post the pictures to Unilocal… so I innocently said yes and she seemed happy about that. I’ll agree with Seth S. when he says that the«tacos are BOMB!!!» because they totally are. I got three of them for an early dinner this late afternoon/early evening. In the words of Mr. T, «I pity the foo» who stops one exit away and goes to Taco Bell. It’d be like night and day. In fact, they do burgers here as well. I was in a taco mood but I’m going to have to try the pastrami burger sooner or later. Hopefully sooner than later actually… And yes, the made in-house tortillas are something. You may not notice it when diving in to the Chile Verde goodness, but on its own, the tortilla is pretty amazing. It’s thick and cooked just right. So if you’re cruising along through Dixon and find yourself anywhere from a bit«snacky» to a ravenous beast, maybe stop by Alheli’s for some yummy goodness. You can thank me later.

Long Wait Times. Alhelis is a nice enough place to eat that’s not one the run of mill fast food places. And, it doesn’t share the other characteristics such as, being fast. I’m knocking off a point for that on what otherwise would be a stellar review because their quality. However, it should take only so long to make 2 hot dogs. Especially during a time of day when they weren’t busy. The do offer menu items worthy of an old fashioned burger joint that’s still a favorite amongst many locals. I will be back but will have to allow for more time than I’m use to spending. Will it be worth the wait? Well, it’s worth another visit and that’s something.

Another stop here on the way to the City. It’s kinda becoming a regular thing. Pastrami on a burrito will do that to you I guess.

I always look forward to grabbing a breakfast burrito any time of day when driving by this place. It’s conveniently located just a quick exit off 80 and has the best home made tortillas. I’m hoping to try some other things on their menu but their breakfast burritos are so good!

My favorite two things? Chicken tacos(authentic Mexican style with corn tortillas, cilantro and onion) and their massive breakfast burritos. You just can’t go wrong! My son loves their chile verde(pork) either on his fries or in a burrito. Four stars because we have to call ahead or spend 15 minutes in the drive-thru.

Had the pastrami burger, came out screaming hot! Don’t know if I’ll ever be satisfied with a just another warm burger. Kept thinking to my self should I order another one? I’m just going to have to come back again, maybe tomorrow for breakfast burrito’s!

I’ve written reviews professionally, and Alhelis is convenient for my driving. I’ve posted here already but wanted to try the Alhelis burger, Chili Cheeses fries and a meat burrito; I chose steak. I chose to drive through. When I got home, the bag of food was saturated by sauce and grease… including a dollar size stain on my passenger seat. The burrito was upside down and the chili cheese fries Styrofoam box was opened and leaked out . The chili was so bad, I could not eat it; I tossed it. They did not put the hamburger in the bag… yup, no Alhelis burger for me that night. The burrito was exceptional though, with good flavor and very filling. I called and told them what happened and they told me they would reimburse me and note it on their receipts. The owner/operator and cook was there, and apologized profusely that a new employee manned the window and filled the order. A good reason to watch new employees carefully. He gave me a taster of his chili and it is incredible! Not what was on my fries last time, so I surmised the new employee used another ingredient from possibly their burrito selection that had«Chili» in the name. Gotta watch those new guys! They refunded my money AND gave me a full re-order! The Alhelis burger is amazing. The flavor begs another bite directly behind the last… the chili cheese fries were good, but if I were inside I’d ask for another scoop of chili… the chili is great, just not enough for me. I say«Go inside» if you can… ask for Mark… if you need to go through the drive through, CHECKYOURORDER! Then…ENJOY!

Full of flavor and light on the pocket book! Try the carne by the pound with fresh homemade corn tortillas but buy a few of the flour ones too! Service is fast for making fresh tortillas and genuine!

When I first saw the sign for this place I was a bit confused. Burritos, burgers, pastrami… what? I didn’t understand how that could be in one place and still taste good. Normally restaurants specialize in one type of cuisine. And yet this place turned out to be fantastic. My favorite is the California burrito(it has French fries in it!) and a chocolate shake. The tortillas are made by hand and once, when I asked for a shake, they made it by hand as well because the machine wasn’t worker. After my first two times there the managers learned my name and would greet me upon entering. My only complaint is that they’re closed on Mondays. It seems like such an day to be closed.

Ordered the Carnita burrito with green chilies, it has flavor that slowly wakes up your taste buds. I recommend sitting in the diner as Drive thru takes a bit too long. Second time around i went with the Chili Verde burrito, great flavor, spicy, maybe a little too salty. But this would be a great meal for a hangover if you needed help waking up.
