I loved the environment of this yogurt shop. Its spacious, clean and has the most toppings Ive ever seen. The only cons were there was not very many good(in my opinion) yogurt flavors and the yogurt was on the melty side.

This spot was the gem find of my trip to Dixon. We were briefly in the area, stopped for some Korean food, and decided to go for dessert. We stumbled upon this place when mapping our return back down south, and glad that we did. This is a self-serve froyo shop(sells other desserts and food as well), that charges by weight/tare. With that being said, the best part of this particular froyo shop experience that I had yet to find anywhere else is the large variety of toppings that you can add to your froyo. Really surprised that they had mochi as a topping. That was a delight. There is an outdoor seating area. The parking here can be a bit tricky, but not a major issue. Overall, great spot for dessert in Dixon.

My mother owned a frozen yogurt shop years ago before it became so popular, so I consider myself to be a critical judge of fro-yo. Big Spoon has some seriously delicious yogurt. They don’t have a huge selection of yogurt flavors, but an enormous amount of toppings to choose from. What I like most about Big Spoon is the actual yogurt itself… so so good. And the prices are very reasonable compared to other big chain yogurt shops I’ve been to. This has become our favorite spot in Dixon.

Edit(upgraded from 2 to 4, Jan 2, 2016): They have improved since my last visit. Definitely comparable at this point. I’ve been to enough of these to know that the quality is questionable. While this place does have a much wider range of toppings and sauces, it just wasn’t as satisfying. Even the yogurt(the point of even going) was really not great tasting.

Why dose this yogurt store continue to have a sign for $ 1.00 Sunday root beer float special yet always out of root beer? Just to bring people in?.. Then offer .42 an oz for plain yogurt no root beer.

Price range: expensive for a couple of small desserts. And the student discount? Ya, only for Sac State. Not Sac City, nor even the closer UC Davis. Yes, CSUS students… in Dixon… go figure. It was tasty, but I could have gotten an entire gallon of ice cream(2 big cartons) next door at the Safeway for the same price. First and most likely last time I’ll go there was earlier today.

Yogurt is always melted and runny coming out of the machine. It would get 5 stars if this gets corrected.

It’s a standard Fro-Yo shop, nothing too special. The one complaint I do have is that it seems their yogurt instantly begins to melt once you begin putting it in your cup. It’s ALWAYS melted by the time I get home! I’ve been to a couple other shops and their yogurt doesn’t melt like that so I’m assuming their temps are kept higher to save money? I’m not sure… Either way, it’s a bummer. Other than that, it’s decently clean and the kids that work there are nice.

Love going here. This place is pretty small but average size for a yogurt shop. I’ve been there a couple of times and its really awesome yogurt. They usually have about 5 – 6 different flavors such as Vanilla, Chocolate, mixed, and during different seasons they have different flavors. Like at Christmas they usually have peppermint. On Sundays and Wednesday are special days. On Sunday it’s $ 1.00 root beer float night. On Wednesday night it’s $ 1.00 yogurt night. Right now you may be thinking all yogurt is $ 1.00, but it’s a little rinky dinky cup. Now on to service. Service is fantastic. Really friendly workers. I’ve noticed when I walk in they greet me and say I would I like a sample cup. They’re also happy to help you. But other than that it’s a nice place for you and your family to go after dinner if your in the area.

Just discovered this place on the way back from the pumpkin patch in Dixon. We’ve been here a few times since. Yogurt selection is limited to six flavones. I think it changes on the weekends and maybe there is one where they tell you what the next flavor will be. Wide variety of toppers, so that’s a plus. Sample cups provided by the one employee that is there(pretty low overhead). Clean venue and lots of parking. They do not give any frequent buyer credit or stamp cards. Would probably give it four stars if they had more yogurt selection and some kind of frequent visit reward system. You can sign up for emails, but so far the only one I got was for 50% off a gift card($ 20 for a $ 40 gift card).

I’ve only been here a couple times but its good. I’d say its above average for a froyo place. I think they usually have about 6 flavors including no sugar and sherberts. Now the fun part — toppings! Toppings galore! Candy, cookies, cereals, nuts, jellies, sprinkles, sauces, fruit, mochi, you name it. This place has the most toppings I have seen at a froyo place ever. You can even buy bags of candy or toppings by the pound. The prices are average . Wednesdays are $ 1 mini bowl and Sundays are $ 1 mini root beer floats. Yes they have root beer. Great place in the summer

I have been to Big Spoon Yogurt about 5 times now(in winter and summer) and my BIGGEST complaint is that the frozen yogurt is barely frozen. It comes out of the machines melting every single time I go. I don’t understand why they don’t turn down the temperature on the machines. I go there for a cold treat not a sloppy mess. I live about a mile from Big Spoon and by the time I get home I have a sweet yogurt soup instead of a delicious FROZEN yogurt. I will say that there assortment of toppings is pretty amazing. That’s why I gave BSY a second star. Other than the toppings it is really not worth going to unless you like melted yogurt.

We love Big Spoon Yogurt and make many a Sunday drive here. In addition to friendly staff, a clean space, and reasonable prices, they have a great variety of yogurts and toppings. I love warm toppings(hot fudge, marshmallow, caramel, RASPBERRY), my husband loves pie fillings, and my kids love all the dry and candy toppings. Add to that a good selection of sliced fruit and you’ve got a Sunda(e/y) treat to make everyone happy. If you’re looking for the more«Asian» style with lots of tart/tapioca/mochi this might not be your place. There are tart flavors offered, as well as some mochi, but it does tend towards the ice cream sundae type of options.

The kids ADORE this place. Frankly, I prefer Pinkberry in Davis for actual yogurt quality. But for the kids, this place rocks. You serve yourself your choice of yogurts then pile on the sauces, toppings, candy, whip, etc. I like the plain flavor of yogurt(when it’s available) with hot fudge & berries.

When it comes to yogurt, I like to keep my yogurt flavor simple and focus on going crazy with the toppings. Big. Spoon. Yogurt. Has. So. Many. Toppings. Cookie crisp and mochi? Got it. Hot fudge and peanut butter sauce? Yep. Gummi worms and sour peaches? Done. They have toppings I’ve never even heard of before — what’s a chocolate rock? I don’t know but it was good on my yogurt. Came here on a Saturday afternoon — the toppings bar was very orderly and clean and the staff was friendly.

We love going to this do it yourself yogurt place. Workers there are very friendly, and will let you sample the flavors. They switch the flavors up frequently, but always have the basics. I personally like the cheesecake flavor. Someone said that they don’t really have any of the ‘tart’ flavors, which is true. I’m more of a sweet ice cream person, so I like it, but not much of the fruity tart choices. They have every topping you could everrrr possibly want! Sometimes can be a little overwhelming. They stay open pretty late, which is cool. On Tuesdays you get a certain amount of toppings for free. My husband and I usually spend about 8 dollars for both of our ice cream. and he loads up lol.

Better than any other yogurt joint that I have been to. Love the root beer float option. They have root beer on tap! Sign up for their emails and you get tons of coupons including buy one get one free. Nice a clean.

I won’t bore you with a recap of the froyo concept — we get it. Strawberry kiwi(non dairy, non fat) FTW! I love the texture, sweetness, and tartness of this flavor. They rotate their flavors during the week so some of the specialty flavors are only available half the week. Mochi topping FTW! This sweet and doughy topping is traditionally wrapped around a cube of ice cream but, it works just fine as an a la carte topping. The rest of the toppings are the standard froyo staples. They also have a root beer float station, if that floats your boat. The service was excellent — we were pleasantly greeted right away and offered samples. If you’re travelling on the 80, this is worth the pit stop.

Yum! I’m a Cultive freak when I’m in Sacramento but I needed a little something something while I was in Dixon so I popped over to Big Spoon to see what all the fuss was about. Great yogurt, huge selection of toppings, clean store. I was slightly disappointed to see that the fresh fruit hadn’t been refilled recently and looked a little sweaty, and I hate that they store it in tiny, metal, dark containers. Otherwise, love it. I’ll be back next time I’m in the area.
