Awesome place! Excellent service, beautiful food. Lovely décor! We were passing through Dixon for the first time ever. Went to Luke’s and the fantastic bartender, Debbie, highly recommended this place. She was totally right. Good job, guys!

This place is just what the doctor ordered! I was in town with a guest from L.A. and asked a local friend to recommend a good place to have dinner. She quickly recommended Firehouse Bistro and I’m SO glad I took her advice. I will definitely eat here again(and again, and again…). Fantastic atmosphere, professional & friendly staff, and the food was phenomenal! They even make their own butter, it was simply divine!

Dropped in on Saturday night, were seated right away. Music was of the jazz variety and was loud, not a relaxing time of tune. Salads were good. I ordered the linguine it was tasty, my husband ordered the special fried chicken, the serving was large but was not appealing looking or tasting, the meat was raw toward the bone and chicken just seemed like it had been made a different day! Probably would not visit again!

We recently moved to Dixon and wanted to check Firehouse bistro out. It was so amazing we came back the following weekend. It has a great ambiance, welcoming, and exquisite food. Our favorite is the whipped butter that comes with the table bread. The portions of the meals are perfect. They have a wonderful wine selection. Our second visit we brought our two little girls(because I wanted it again so bad and could not wait till another date night) The owner and servers were very accommodating to our young daughters. They shared the baked mac and cheese with Gouda and loved it. If it were up to me I would eat here every weekend. I highly recommend firehouse bistro and it is our new date night spot!

The food here is fantastic. Any way you go, you certainly won’t be disappointed. The atmosphere is nice and while it may not look it, child friendly which is great for our little foodie. The owners and staff have been very pleasant each time we’ve stopped in. This is a great place for a date nite or family meal.

OMG, wish I live in Dixon. Came to visit UC Davis. Ordered the flat iron steak. It was so good, I ordered 2. The steak is juicy & tender; the chimmichurri sauce was light & refreshing. I’m afraid now I am on the look out for something comparable in my home town. So far, no such luck. Initially, the bread came stone cold, but after I mentioned it the chef comped me an appetizer. All good.

This is a great place for date night! The food was great and the menu was interesting. Not the same old thing you can get anywhere else. The staff was very friendly. We even heard one of the chefs working with another guest who seemed to have complicated dietary needs, they seemed to be very accommodating. The ambience was also great. I can’t wait to go back

Thank you, Leslie(the owner), for offering the fried chicken as a special last night. The chicken was moist and flavorful. Dixon is lucky to have this restaurant in town!

Had dinner here last night and what a nice experience it was. The food, the servers and the ambiance were all on point. I had the duck and my companions had the flat iron steak. everything was cooked perfectly and the flavors were amazing. This is a place where you can relax and actually enjoy a conversation with your companions. There is no loud noise playing and the whole atmosphere makes this a place where you don’t rush through dinner but rather take your time and enjoy the surroundings and the company you are with. Dixon has been blessed with this fine dining establishment.

It’s true that the tables are clothes are covered with butcher paper, so what. Certainly, I’m rating on a scale for Dixon, but this place is golden. Our flat iron steak was a touch medium when I ordered medium rare, but it was good. The pumpkin soup was savory and the beet and house salads fresh good. The paella risotto is exceptional. The chef visited the table next to us and my husband heard him say he’s been here six months. It’s not the greatest ever cuisine but pretty damn close. Maybe it’s hit or miss, but, to us tonight, it was delectable. $ 86 for two. One glass of good Cabernet wine. Oh and the chocolate dessert with a layer of caramel, excellent finish.

A nice newish looking restaurant. A treat if you’re used to only diner food or a chain restaurants. But if you’re looking for better value and quality, it’s worth the drive to Woodland, Winters, or Sacramento. The décor is nice, but there are missing and burnt out light bulbs in fixtures. Cob webs in the bathroom and loose toilet seat; although we were the first customers for the evening, it didn’t appear it was recently cleaned. It’s as if the owner was in an hurry to decorate but did not worry too much about maintenance or cleaning. Entrees prices are about $ 20−30+. Menu items suggest high end items prepared by experience chef. Including drinks and dessert, a dinner for two could approach $ 90+ with tip. For that much, I wasn’t expecting torn butcher paper covering the table cloth. The food was well presented. But the kitchen staff committed a major error in professional cooking: they didn’t taste their own food. Most items were over salted and somewhat overcooked; sauces used on vegetables were over-reduced resulting in overly sweet and salty flavor. Although the restaurant décor has a French theme, the waitress was unable to produce bread and butter(not in their pantry). The salad was good, no complaints, but the soup bowl was filled only 1⁄3 full… maybe 6 oz, too salty at some spots as if the cook didn’t stir after seasoning. The cheese cake was good, but it looked like it came from Costco. Overall quality reminded me of mass produced meals on a cruise ship. A manager or owner was conspicuously absent. When we mentioned the food was not the best we’ve ever had, the waitress was only slightly concerned; at most other restaurants, the manager or the chef would want to know what went wrong – it didn’t happen this time. An overall nice looking restaurant with hard working and attentive staff. It has great potential if management pays more attention to detail. The chef can definitely benefit from professional feedback from qualified peers.

Great food and service. Rib eye was excellent and fried chicken was some of the best I have had. Wish we had room for desert. Do yourself and favor and try it out.

Dixon was in desperate need of a quiet restaurant that offers quality food. It’s great to be able to stay local for a quiet evening out. Four Stars instead of five as you can tell they are on a budget and there are small things that I noticed — my plate had a chip missing, silverware didn’t match, flooring at the front table has horrible finishing work, light fixture was dusty. Also my spaghetti Bolognese was a little greasy. We will definitely be back!

Hidden gem in downtown Dixon. Plates looked like a work of art. Delicious entrees and decedent desserts. Food was 5 stars hands down; seating was uncomfortable thou and really could use a cocktail menu. Will be back.

Great food, nice atmosphere and the owners are very nice. I would of gave them 5 stars but their beer and wine selection can be better. But! You always have the option to bring your own wine for a cork fee. I hope we can all support them to keep them around.

They saying quality is better than quantity, it is very true for this place. The food is fantastic with keeping the right blends of flavor. Garlic, lemon, white wine, red pepper with shrimp, my mouth felt as though it went to heaven. The pinot they recommend, perfect like the stars with the night sky. My boyfriend enjoyed his birthday meal as well ^_^ We’re going to miss this place, when we move to Ohio. Now we have a reason to visit back in California, besides my family!

There is a new Chef in the house! Eric Prada joined the Bistro team 5 months ago. Eric has worked at some pretty nice restaurants like Aqua in SF and has trained under Michelin star chefs. The difference is clear. I have enjoyed three meals under Eric’s command. The preparation and presentation is spot on. This is top notch cooking and Dixon is lucky to have the Bistro. You would have to drive to Sac town or SF to get this quality. Don’t get me wrong, there are some great restaurants in Davis, Winters, Woodland and Vacaville… I eat out a lot. The lamb chops, miso glazed salmon, mahi mahi and day boat scallops were all impressive. They source locally from Eatwell farms in Dixon. Several daily specials. Specials typically on Facebook: The wine list is solid and rotates with over 30 wines. Last dining experience, I would order them all again!: Calamari App($ 10.75) Glass of Chardonnay($ 9.50) Miso glazed salmon($ 19)(see picture) Day boat scallops($ 19)(see picture) unfortunately no room for dessert

Who knew such a great gem of a restaurant was located in Dixon? After reading the Unilocal reviews, my parents elected to select this restaurant for a mini family reunion. We arrived in time to make our 5:30 reservation. We were the only patrons in the restaurant at that time. The hostess showed us to a table in the back of the restaurant. The décor was minimal but elegant. The restaurant was somewhat dimly lit. I don’t think that is a problem for the majority of tables since there are light fixtures over each one with the only exception of the large table at which we were seated. Despite the lighting, we ordered drinks and began deciding what we wanted to eat. Like the restaurant, the menu is small but sophisticated. There were a lot of interesting sounding items. They also had a bunch of specials. We ended up ordering the following: calamari, grilled artichokes, prime rib special, pork tenderloin, steak madeira, seafood beurre blanc, and the crème brulee and chocolate salted caramel pots de crème. Everything was delicious and beautifully plated. The breakdown: Calamari: Well-seasoned, lightly battered, tiny fried rings of deliciousness. The dish was accompanied with a chipotle sauce. Grilled Artichokes: Whole artichokes split in half with their hearts removed and grilled. I personally am not a big fan of artichokes, but they were cooked well and the dill sauce that came with this dish was really phenomenal. Prime Rib Special: Two members of our party ordered this dish(one ½ sized order and the other full). I didn’t get to try this, but they said it was great. Pork Tenderloin: My favorite of the entrees ordered. Beautifully presented medallions of pork resting on top of sliced potato with a glaze. The pork was cooked flawlessly and tasted great. Steak Madeira: My mother loved this dish. Seafood Beurre Blanc: Shrimp, scallops, and chunks of white fish in a lightly lemony beurre blanc sauce with microgreens resting on a saffron risotto. Also beautifully presented and delicious. Crème Brulee: My grandmother raved about this dish. Not your typical crème brulee. It was lighter and had more of an eggy flan like taste. Chocolate Salted Caramel Pots de Crème: My favorite item of the night. Simply amazing. Overall our experience at the Firehouse Bistro was fantastic. The food and ambiance contributed to a truly memorable night.

First time at Firehouse and it was most pleasant. A nice wine list and difficult choices for entres(all very tempting). I had the crab stuffed prawns and my colleague had the chicken vesuvius… both very tasty. The dessert was made in-house by Leslie, the owner. It was FANTASTIC… chocolate cake and caramel-chocolate sea salt pâté… I could have been in a Paris bistro… hard to believe I found this in Dixon… amazing. A fine repast… highly reccomended
