I love Thai food and this is by far the best I have ever had. So far I’ve had the panang chicken curry and the pad see uw beef. The curry was spot on the chicken was very tender and the red pepper was still a little crisp… perfect. The pad see uw beef is also very tender with crunchy broccoli .The thick caramelized sauce was unlike any I’ve had. I live a good distance from here but will be making the trip as often as possible. The quality of food and service was outstanding and at a very good price

If you like Thai food Touch of Thai is your place they have the best Sushi in the area! I love this place, the waiters know our order and the food is always amazing! I highly recommend — I average about three times a month and I have never been disappointed.

We had lunch here on 02-02-2016. It’s a cute little place that appeared clean and well decorated. Our waitress was very friendly. I had the Thai Ice Tea, which was very sweet but tasty. We ordered the Tom Kha and Tom Yum soups which we both really liked. I had the Red Curry and my husband had the Pad Thai. They came in pretty dishware, but you couldn’t decide on levels of spiciness. We didn’t try the sushi, so we can’t make a judgment on it. All in all this is a great little Thai place we’ll definitely try again!

Found Touch of Thai while looking for dinner options on Unilocal. After reading the reviews and hearing nothing but great things from coworkers we decided to give it a try. The menu is extensive and includes a full Thai menu, Japanese dishes and sushi. They serve beer and sake or you can order a glass of wine from the Crystal Cork next door. We ordered the shrimp rolls, kappa maki, pad thai and teriyaki chicken. The shirmp rolls were amazing and the sushi was good as well. The pad thai was great but I personally prefer more peanuts and bean sprouts in mine. The chicken teriyaki was excellent. The chicken had a sweet, smoky taste that I just loved. I do prefer fried rice with my Japanese meals which we were told was not offered with that dinner choice. I would have liked to be given the option even if it included an upcharge. Overall I was very happy with this restaurant and I will definitely be back.

To get 5 stars from you would be pretty incredible but a four star is a great reading for this restaurant I really enjoy the sushi the closest thing you’re going to be able to get to this is somewhere in Rockford dare I say or DeKalb but the truth is you’ll probably have to go to Chicago to get sushi this good or food is fresh.

I’ve eaten at this place plenty of times and I will continue to go back. The pad thai here is just amazing. I tend to be a creature of habit so it’s hard for me to try new things once I’ve found something this good. I always get the crab rangoon too. My absolute favorite dish is the maki rolls. You can get small plates of many different kinds and you won’t be disappointed. I really enjoy taking friends here too, it is a very relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. You won’t be sorry once you’ve eaten here.

My favorite noodles… in the nation! In every Thai restaurant I visit, I order Pad Lee Mao(drunken/crazy noodles). I’ve probably had 50 versions of this dish, in all corners of the country. Somehow this little place in the tiny town of Dixon Illinois has the perfect rendition. They start with noodle sheets, not the dry rice noodles, and fry them to an ideal texture with a touch of searing. Every time I visit my in-laws in Sterling, I make a jaunt over to Dixon for these noodles.

We had the Saturday lunch buffet. When we went up for food, most of the dishes were low or empty. They filled fairly quickly however and was okay for Asian buffet food. They also have sushi which, surprisingly, was not horrible. The service was slow and getting drink refills was impossible. The staff was very friendly. All, in all it was okay.

We came with a group of perhaps 20 people. Of course, we had planned this days in advance with the restaurant. Our group all arrived together — essentially within 10 minutes. We were seated together in a long table. Drinks were served, orders were taken and food was delivered promptly. Everyone was satisfied with their meal. Individual checks were prepared without complaint. When we arrived and left the place was completely full. So we certainly appreciated their being able to reserve our space and serve us attentively.

Sorry — Although touch Thai is a great place — the previous review about the Rib-eye was for another place in Dixon.

This is my daughter’s favorite Dixon restaurant. Consistently good food, service and reasonable prices. There are Thai restaurants I like better outside of the area but this is definitely a solid choice especially for a town of this size. Save room for the custard sticky rice desert. It’s outstanding!

My first and only experience here was very underwhelming. I had heard nothing but great things about this place, and I was craving some sushi, so I made the 30 minute drive during the last arctic vortex that was trying to kill everyone in the Midwest. Anyways, I ordered the same sushi(based on name) that I’ve ordered at several other restaurants, because I figured I’d be safe with what I already know I like. I was with two others and my food arrived significantly later than there’s did, even though there were maybe 5 other people in the restaurant at the time. But that’s not even my complaint, my real issue was the portion to price ratio. The prices were what I’m used to paying at other sushi places, but the portions were laughably tiny. I looked at my plate and I honestly thought they had forgotten part of my order. I left hungry… I’ve never ordered two entire sushi rolls for myself and still left hungry from any other sushi joint. I understand, this isn’t primarily a sushi place, but the taste wasn’t an big issue, it was decent tasting stuff… Just felt like I had ordered a Happy Meal. I’ll probably go back and try some of the actual Thai food soon, like the red curry, etc and either update or write a separate review.

Simply the best Thai food I’ve ever eaten! Who would think that you could find such excellent Thai food in Dixon? The Pad Thai is perfect and every other item we’ve had has been excellent also. The sushi is as good or better than any I’ve had anywhere, including Hawaii! The Thai iced tea is great too. Lunch plate portions are just right and dinner portions are a little larger but not too large. Try this food!

Best food(especially Asian can’t get good Asian food anywhere around here) around this part of Illinois. They have delicious food and it is decorated so well. The service is great.

Taking into consideration that Dixon, IL is a small community with a population of 15, 000… i wasn’t expecting much from this restaurant at all. I was wrong. The food was delicious. We ordered the Pad Thai with chicken, Green curry, and sushi from the Japanese portion of the menu, and it did not disappoint. Everything was flavorful and seasoned perfectly. Service was attentive and professional. We will definitely be back.

Been to the Touch of Thai a few times. It was an interesting place. I remember seeing it initially open when I lived in Dixon IL. The original owner, from Thailand, was nice. Now, I do not know if I would say it is good. It appears to be taken over by the wine bar next door.

I was just in town for the Gentlemen of the Road festival and honestly didn’t know what to expect for my vegan palate but was pumped when my friend suggested Touch of Thai for lunch. The lunch specials are super affordable and delicious too. The staff was friendly and was super familiar with the menu when we asked for some suggestions. I enjoyed the Red Curry dish along with a glass of wine was pleasantly surprised by the quality! I asked for the Native Spicy and they certainly brought the heat too. The menu was very extensive and they also had a great selection of Asian beers and sake too.

We arrived in the afternoon for the tail of the lunch special service. I had the Pepper Beef with the excellent Lumpia appetizer and a nice sauce. My aunt had the Ginger Chicken, which was good, but I could have used more ginger. Excellent Thai iced coffee, although it was premixed — most I have seen are separate layers and you mix them. The food was good, the price is an excellent value, the service was attentive and the spicing(at least for the dishes we tried) is a mainstream spicing, so even my 90ish aunt could enjoy it. I’m sure they could kick up the heat a bit if you want. Storefront dining, my aunt tells me it was an old department store, so an interesting space. Booths are really a bench seat between two tables, so don’t lean back too far! We noticed the room really filling up near dinner — good thing, so they stay open and we can go back on our next trip to DIxon.

This is the first stop on my idea of a perfect date night. Whenever I’m in Dixon for the weekend, I beg my boyfriend to take me here(and if he’s not in the mood, I just go with my mom!). I’ve sampled items from all over the menu, ranging from spring rolls to pad thai to red curry and all of it has been amazing. The Thai fried rice is incredible and perfectly spiced(it even earns my dad’s stamp of approval no easy task!) and the curries are rich and savory. I also have to give them a round of applause for serving the most incredible sushi roll I’ve ever tasted. It bothers me that I can’t remember its name right now — it includes sweet potato tempura, veggies and cream cheese. Absolutely mouthwatering. We always receive great service and the few times I’ve ordered takeout, my order has been ready very quickly. Oh, but I do feel bad for the koi by the front door. I wish they had a bigger pond, but they don’t seem to be too bummed out about it.
