Scaperrotta’s Deli

I have olive oil stains on my shirt and shorts from not being to concentrate over how good their eggplants and fresh mozzarella sandwich was. From first bite to last, it’s a miracle of veg, carb, cheese and tomatoes. Lawd almighty, I remember having some decent sandwiches in my day, but damn, this was the best one yet! Topped with a Rasberry Joes and let me not even start on how good the potato salad was! Highly recommended, I’ll use this phrase because there is another one better.

We always enjoy coming here. My kids love the fried eggplant with fresh mozzarella and basil topping on a wedge. I believe it is the number 47 or 46. The eggplant is always fresh and that makes the sandwich excellent.
Highly recommended.

Awesome! This place is amazing. I live in NYC, but work in town. Trust me they don’t have spots like this in Mahattan. Great sandwichs great customer service too

Found this place on Unilocal!because lately I’ve been disappointed in my local Italian restaurants quality of chicken wedges. I tried from Pizza Grill & Slices in Hastings and those weren’t good. Gigi’s in Yonkers makes good New York pizza, but there was not much chicken on my small wedge. So I saw the great reviews on Unilocal!and thought it was worth a shot. Boy was it! I love good reasonably priced food. The chicken was abundant and good quality. The price was better than the others. As a lifelong New Yorker, I can tell you it was the way Italian food should be in New York. My husband got and egg and cheese breakfast sandwich that was also good. Only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I can’t comment on their other offerings because we haven’t had them yet. I’m so happy I found a quality place nearby. I would’ve liked a menu, but they were all out. It would also be great if they had more extended hours as they only stay open until about 4pm. I tend to want to get food like this when I don’t want to cook at night. Worth it.

This was such a great find for me working just down the way in Hastings On Hudson. Great Iced coffee and awesome sandwiches! Love this place!

They make a mean grilled cheese sandwich. My four year old demanded that we go to Scappys for lunch the other day. There was no discussion about it. This kid rules the household. Anyway, we got to sit outside at one of the few tables set up. The place gets pretty busy so there is a bit of a wait on the food. No biggie. Totally worth it.

Unilocal saves the day again! Had a workshop at Mercy College this morning and wanted a bagel. Drove to this establishment at the recommendations on Unilocal.I had a bagel with bacon and it was Delicious! Great choices of snacks as well.
Friendly personnel as well! I am absolutely delighted that I stopped in. The gentleman that helped me was kind enough to entertain my questions of the neighborhood and point out the awesome view of the water.
When we broke for lunch I told everyone to venture over and they came back pleased!

Family owned deli with great staff and amazing sandwiches. I LOVE that they have seeded bread and that they don’t skimp on the fillings — they’re always huge and a wedge (sub) can be enough for two meals. Prices are reasonable. Their chicken cutlet subs are becoming legendary with my co-​workers, who also have fallen in love with this place.

Everything here is great, including the staff. Chicken cutlets are fantastic, and so are all the other deli sandwiches. Prices are very reasonable. I only wish they were open later, because sometimes I really want a Scaperrotta’s sandwich for dinner and miss them!

Everything I’ve had here (breakfast & lunch) was amazing! The chicken cutlet sandwiches are the best I’ve ever had. I definitely stop in whenever I’m working in the area. The owners/​staff are all great and extremely friendly.

Love the #11 bbq chicken Cutlet sandwich. I just wish they stayed open later. It’s hard for me to catch them sometimes.

Amazing chicken cutlet sandwich combinations. The chicken is thinly sliced with perfect texture. I have been coming to Scaps for a few years now and cannot get enough. They have gourmet Italian food for a reasonable price, and the staff is very friendly.

KUDOS to being open after Hurricane Sandy hit — loved walking into down after the storm and getting a hot cup of coffee and a nice warm egg sandwich from Scaperrotta’s!
Only place I go for a breakfast sandwich in town!

I am from San Diego and came to visit a friend. She took me out telling me about this place and how GOOD the roast beef is. She’s not just bragging. SHE’S RIGHT!!! I had often watched SNL to see Mike Myers do Coffee Talk and make comments like” it’s like buttah”. I now know what that means! The roast beef was so tender, it actually felt like it melted in my mouth when I bit in to it.
All I can say is it sucks that there is NO PLACE in San Diego that can do Scaperrotta’s any justice. I cannot wait for my next trip back to NY!!!

I’ve lived in and around the area for years and never came here until a couple of weeks ago when I needed a breakfast sandwich so I figured I would try this place. Egg, bacon and cheese roll was delicious, decent coffee too. I liked it so much I went back the next day for one of the «signature» chicken cutlet sandwiches… I had the one with cheese and barbecue sauce and that was fantastic too… really fresh bread and tasty cutlet! The place was busy with locals who were already in the know and the staff were enjoying banter with the regulars. My service was a little more brusque and efficient… which was fine, probably because I was a newbie. I ate in both times and it is clean, bright and plenty of space. Will definitely be back.
