I absolutely love the salads. But the reason I gave them 3 stars is because the customer service skills at this place are horrible. The owner has a gifted talent but her attitude is simply ridiculous. The wait use to be worse than what it is today so I don’t mind that to much. But if your looking for great salads for a decent price try them out.

So here’s the deal with Salads R Us the salads are excellent and they taste great the customer service and the amount of time you have to wait is ridiculous you have to wait entirely too long for the salad you can place your order at 8 in the morning to pick it up for 12 noon and I can almost guarantee it won’t be ready by 12 noon. But if you’re willing to deal with that then go with a salad because it is excellent!

This hidden gem of resturant is located in downtown Dolton, IL. They serve of the best salads made fresh daily. Whenever I want a salad I come to Salad R US. There is no other place like it.

The salads are delicious and creative. The ingredients are fresh and the meat cooked well. This is both a great thing and a bad thing. The wait is atrocious so don’t come here wanting a quick meal. If you work in the south suburbs and you got time on our hands to a large salad this is the place to go.

Called ahead, was told 45 minute wait! Arrived an hour later, waited another 30 minutes! Still didn’t get my salad, I left hungry & disappointed! Should’ve never returned after my last visit the owner is very rude & lack customer service skills!

Here’s the deal…
The good:
Salads are huge, they’re a meal in themselves. I had the garbage salad and it had salami, chicken, hard-boiled eggs, banana peppers, olives, white onion (should have been red) tomatoes, jalapenos (why?) and romaine lettuce. The ranch dressing was quite good. I was full when I was done and left one wee tub of ranch untouched.
The bad:
It takes forever, they only accept cash, the location leaves a little to be desired and, for emphasis, it takes forever.
That said, call ahead, and if you’re hungry, this place will do it.

Salads and sandwiches are great and consistent! They never disappoint! She is very clean and particular which takes longer but they are worth the wait!

Patronizing this place is like watching a great movie in the city dump.
The salads are GREAT, but the customer service sucks. Placing your order ahead of time and paying with cash are two mandatory rules for this spot, but even after you wait an hour before going; it’s highly likely that you’ll still end up waiting for your food. The attitudes of the cashiers/cooks are very poor, as they yap on their cell phones holding personal conversations; when they snarl at you from behind the thick bullet proof glass window.
If you don’t mind rude service and long waits; the salads are definitely some of the tastiest I’ve had in a while.

The salads are incredible! They are huge and made fresh which means you should call ahead. When you call ahead, make sure you wait another 45 mins to an hour to go pick up your salad. Not for someone who wants a salad on their lunch break. HORRIBLE customer service (mainly the owner). You can hear chastising of employees in the back of the very, very small establishment. Personal phone calls are held while you’re at the counter. I love the delicious salads, esp. the Grilled Chicken (very meaty) with Russian Dressing… but I cannot patronize due to the lack of customer quality service. It’s a shame
