Food is tasty, portions are right, fresh food, tender meat, excellent cheese, weird arepas with condiments (looks like Colombians and not Venezuelan) service is standard (delay in refilling glasses of water), pricy with respect to extra sauces (small portions of sauce and costly and they do not make you aware of these extra charges.) avocado pricy for what is expected (decent piece and not just few tiny slices, pricy)… Tips charges to bill even when 2 people eating… Music is Colombian and foreign to Venezuelan «typical restaurant» (Canaima is Venezuelan)… Hope they make it better and fix these issues (pls other competition for guidance, too many other options, so make yours special to us, customers, not costly for everything you offer). 3.5 I have been here only for lunch. Menu is mostly the Venezuelan typical fare. Not that I am an expert on the Venezuelan cuisine, but the most common dishes have seen in other Venezuelan places are available here. I find that in general the food is good. In particular, I have tried the Mahi-​mahi with vegetables and it is ok, the vegetables are steamed and well seasoned, with good flavor. It seems a large place more oriented for performances and shows from Thursdays to Saturdays from what I have seen.
For lunch, and given the location, is kind of expensive, though. Maybe if they could have lunch specials, the flow of people could increase in weekdays. Service is decent, however, the kitchen delays a bit in sending the food over, even though the times I have been there, the place is not full.
if you are in the surroundings, it does not hurt to give it a try. I assume that the experience will be more rounded and lively in the evenings with the shows and the ambience, will give it a try one of this days.

I’m always on the lookout for new Venezuelan places that take me back to my childhood days… As far as the food is concerned, this place does just that. It’s delicious.
The papelon con limon drink has the perfect amount of lime in it. Some places put too little lemon and it ends up tasting like high fructose corn syrup… but here, it’s a refreshing & tangy drink that quenches the thirst!
We ordered the potpourri de arepitas to start, which I think was my favorite thing of all… It’s a combo of sweet and savory arepitas that come with queso de mano and crema de nata. The savory arepitas here come with a twist: they season them and throw in some green and red bell peppers! yummy! Then I ordered the cachapa, which is probably my favorite Venezuelan food. IT. IS. ENORMOUS. Enough to feed two people. It was perfection.
I have yet to find a Venezuelan place that has some ambiance, though… This one feels like a giant cafeteria with no warmth. Apparently it turns into a club at night… I don’t know. Maybe the space is too big, and therefore hard to decorate.
I’d go again, though. The quality is pretty solid.

Amazing food, wonderful atmosphere and extremely friendly staff!!! Went to the restaurant with a group of friends and had a great time. I will definitely be back.

El peor restaurant venezolano que voy en mi vida, la unica forma de surgir es votar al cocinero, que comida mas mala y cara, no regresamos nunca mas.

As a Gringa, I am not an expert on Venezuelan cuisine. But I know what’s yummy and the food at Canaima is delicious. The chicken is some of the juiciest and most flavorful I’ve had in Miami. The arepas are a perfect blend of sweet and cheesy-​goodness, and the yuca is crisp to perfection. Even my Venezuelan husband who doesn’t like any Venezuelan food except his mother’s cooking said they clearly know what they were doing. We went on a Sunday afternoon and loved the live music and the vibe. Next time I want to try Canaima at night which is also meant to be a great scene.

Really sad after 2^nd visit total disappointed. Service terrible the manager (Female) need a lot of improvement in my opinion really lack in all. The food is really good, unfortunately this place have long way to go in every aspect they can be awesome cause have a nice place real good food but terrible management. I won’t comeback.

Las cachapas divinisimas el lugar y la música excelente pollo a la parrilla no me gustó la atención es regular …

Inicialmente no estaba muy convencida por los reviews Online pero decidimos ir personalmente y experimentar por nuestra propia cuenta y la verdad q La comida es excelente, la música muy buena un ambiente muy familiar y aunque mi esposo no habla nada de español disfruto mucho de la atmósfera amigable del restaurante, definitivamente lo recomiendo.
