Mediocre food and service. Building looks cool from the outside but the food and service were blah!

Went here for a friend’s birthday on a Thursday night. The staff here was very friendly and attentive. Our waiter Fabio was AMAZING. One of the best services I’ve had. The food here was also soo delicious. Definitely worth a try! They had live music which went perfectly with the whole vibe of the restaurant. Even learned a little Italian from the staff :) As we left our waiter and 3 other staff member opened the door for us and said goodbye to us. So nice and courteous! In love with this place! Definitely a must try!

Fantastic! I love their food. The restaurant is beautiful. Their crème brûlée is big and delish! I had a burrata salad with prosciutto and it was amazing. it was soft and creamy. Oh my god! their olive oil is amazing with the green pita chip!!! My daughter loves parmigiano regdiano and we had lots of it. The kids meals here are really big for a childrens size. I can eat it and be full. Her food was amazing. She has the chicken parmigianna and you could tell it was fresh and well put together. I will be back for more and more and more!!!

Divieto was incredibly delicious! From the bread to our dishes, everything was perfect. The ambiance and waiter actually made us feel like we were in Italy. The table experience of the Ruota di parmigiano was so cool! That’s the only reason we wanted to come to this place and it did not disappoint. I ordered the mascarpone pasta and it was so delicious. I definitely recommend this place and will come again. The prices aren’t too bad either. Great for a date night!

The restaurant has a beautiful modern look to it. They have a huge wait staff and provide excellent upscale service. My brother had the chicken marsala and said it is the best tasting sauce he has had, which speaks volumes from a guy who lives just outside of Philly. My wife loved her salmon. My sister had the eggplant parmesan and it was nicely plated(and all eaten!). We will be back!

The most delicious meal I’ve had in years!!! With that I say it all. As an appetizer we began with the calamari. I would absolutely recommend. Breading was light. Not too thick, so you could easily taste and enjoy the freshness of the calamari, but tasty and well seasoned. The lightly breaded slices of zucchini were a great touch. My boyfriend and I shared the shrimp and mushroom risotto. It was cheesy, thick, and yummy. The jumbo sized shrimp was clean(an absolute must for me) and tasted like it was seasoned and grilled perfectly. Overall, the six jumbo shrimp and the portion of rice were very reasonable. We also shared a steak salad. Not a big fan of balsamic dressing, but even with that, the salad was scrumptious. The black olives were fresh, crumbled cheese tasted lovely, and the steak was divine. Cooked medium-well as per our request, well seasoned, and delicious. We ended our meal with crème brûlée. Wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it was still yummy. I want to try the tres leche the next time I go. 5-stars! Hands down one of the best(if not the best) Italian restaurant in Miami!!! Service was outstanding! Ask for Virginia, she was an absolute doll. Very friendly and patient(our first time there). She made our experience all the better!

This is a good family restaurant selection. The menu has plenty of choices and although there are limited choices for wine by the glass, it’s good enough. If you like reds, I suggest the Pinot Noir Meiomi(by the glass) as a good option. If you’re going to order seafood go with the Sea Bass. It was served in a creamy butter sauce with vegetables and it was simply amazing! The risotto not so much to my liking, however you do have other sides to choose from. The service was mediocre yet I will give it another try as the food was good.

So me and my boyfriend go to a different restaurants on the 1st of every month. We had a funeral service of my best friends grandfather in Doral after worth we decided to go eat some where special. checked Unilocal and yes we were close to an Italian restaurant called divieto didn’t seem special on Unilocal but hey we are adventurist. so we came through. first thing i noticed the building outside is very modern super high profile miami. Second thing we noticed right when we came in we were greeted with Buongiorno i thought im loving with place. Third thing the employees open door looked clean and extremely polite. Fourth our waitress was amazing. It seemed like she would climb a mountain to satisfy us. Lol Fifth and what’s importantly the food was the best quality taste and texture i have to this day experience. I been to beverly hills I been to Italy itself. If u get my experience u will be loving diviato for the rest of ur life’s

Very nice restaurant with a great ambience. Had great food(Steak and Burger). Both meals to the point and very delicious. The waiter was very mindful. And, as we didn’t manage to eat everything, the doggy bag was«prepared» directly at the table, which was very nice as you never know what will happen in the background with your food. :)

Really nice atmosphere. Charming(and attractive wait staff) great wine list. Good sangria. On the menu you have two types of fettuccini. One is prepared table side with some old world cheese. I guess the other has regular cheese. Now. You may have guessed — I went for the table side… Which you know cost more. Not sure of my logic. Anyway. The actual cheese from the cheese-wheel was scrumptious. But the fettuccine tasted average. I think one problem is they are tossing & tossing your pasta in the cheese wheel. What happens to pasta when it starts to cool off? You know… Not very good. It kinda congealed a bit. So I picked out and ate the old world cheese chunks in it and drank my delicious sangria — red. 4 stars because of the ambiance, my server and I’d go back to try another dish.

Best authentic Italian food south of NYC! The calamari is the best I’ve ever had. Cooked perfectly… Ambiance, is old NY style. Hammed tin ceilings, quaint bar, dark wood seating, lighting is on point. Service, is outstanding. From the moment you step through the doors to the moment you exit… Food, is the best I’ve had south of NYC. Everything is made fresh, recipes and ingredients are authentic creating an exquisite menu… My favorite Italian restaurant in years.

Found this restaurant on Unilocal– was curious since I always drive past it but have never made an attempt to try it out. I was a bit hesitant since last time I visited this location it had a different name and the food was HORRIBLE and overpriced. But, we were pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious! I had the fettuccine Alfredo w/grilled salmon, family had the skirt steak, a ham and mushroom pizza and the Bolognese lasagna. I personally tried them all and they were all so damn good! The service though, could use some improvement. Our waiter forgot a couple of things. I ordered a glass pinot noir w/my entrée and had to remind him to bring it. My mother ordered a bolognese lasagna to go and he completely forgot. We noticed when we received the bill at which time the kitchen was closed and the chef declined our waiter’s request to prepare it then. This is something that irritated me. WRITE things down. There’s no way that someone could remember every little request from a group of five not counting your other tables. That being said, will definitely return!

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Doral. The menu is exciting and has a lot of variety. The appetizers and side dishes are fun and the entrées are beautifully presented. The food is imaginative fresh and beautifully prepared and the staff is attentive and playful. We come here every time we are in Doral and always look forward to returning.

WOW. I don’t get to Doral too often, but this trip was well worth it. Phenomenal service and even better food. Share all the Antipasti and have the Fiochi di Pera. They had live music which was beautiful and not overbearing for dinner conversation. I plan to stop by any time I’m in the area and highly recommend it.

1st Timer — Good date spot! Sat at the bar for a glass of wine some aps and a pasta entrée. Pasta was cooked perfect. Good energy, nice and easy vibe + a singer started singing some music(to a track) which was a nice touch. Speakers were a bit«scratchy» but I did notice they were Bose speakers so maybe just a «bad speaker day».lol Definitely go back:)

The quality of the food was great, the service was a bit disappointing. We went there to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. During my search for«Great Restaurants for Birthdays» reviews claimed that it was a good choice for that occasion. I guess I expected better. The pasta dishes are really good and also the Chicken Madeira is excellent.

The best fettuccini of my life delicious succulent amazing, I really want to give this place five stars but the service was not the best. Our waiter was always uncomfortably hovering when we didn’t need him and was nowhere to be found when we needed him. He also was a little rude, like I said the food is delicious but the service is ok.

When a friend told me that yesterday was National Spaghetti Day — and coincided with getting my Unilocal Elite Badge renewed — I used the mobile app for a new pasta place to celebrate our by the western ‘burbs and Divieto showed up. It was definitely a good spot to celebrate at. Since I was dining solo, I sat at the bar watching the Heat game on one of their overhead TV’S(oh and they have a HUGE flat screen on one of the walls as well.) Service was pleasant, and I was seated immediately. January brings a freezing winter(65 degrees) to Miami, so I started with a bowl of Lentil soup instead of a salad. Divieto’s soup was creamy and delicious with a generous helping of beans, vegetables and herb garnish. Bread service was great with a mix of rolls, and hard bread to dip in oil, shredded cheese and herbs. I also asked for balsamic vinegar. The main reason I was there was for the Spaghetti, and it hit the spot. I’m talking about a generous bowl of noodles just this side of aldente, with about 3 or 4 meatballs, a generous helping of Marinara(of course I ordered extra sauce!) and added red pepper flakes(no cheese) and this was a plate worthy of its day. Full belly, happy heart. The pastry with berries and ice cream I ordered to go was just as tasty later, with plenty of blueberries and raspberries. Definitely a nice place to stop by for Italian in Doral!

I attended a friend’s bridal shower at Divieto and really enjoyed it. They gave us a room away from the rest of the restaurant, and really made us feel taken care of the entire time. The management and event planner were awesome, and the servers were very friendly. I had a cesar salad and the chicken pesto gnochhi, both of which were delicious. The sangria was also very good. The bar is lovely, and it’s definitely a nice bar to hang out at with a couple of girlfriends on any night of the week. I will definitely go back again!

In Miami for work for a few days and went here tonight. FANTASTIC!!! My partner got the spaghetti with meatballs, side Caesar salad and House Merlot. I got the Mascarpone Pasta with a side Caesar salad and the Chianti. Everything was excellent!!! From the wine to the salad to the fresh bread with olive oil and spice dipping sauce to main course — pure heaven. Wanted to try several restaurants while here these few days since we primarily have tiki bars/bar food in the keys where we live, but I may just have to come back here again during this visit. Our waiter was great. Service was top notch and ambiance was really nice.

My expectations were low because I’d seen this location changed ownership more than my husband changes underwear. I don’t have a husband but sounded like a good start to this review. Especially because from the moment I walked in with my sister on a Saturday night, I felt like I was on a romantic date at a romantic sports bar? Basically, they have plenty of screens to keep your sports-loving husband busy while you listen to the smooth sounds of a live saxophone player walking around the restaurant. I loved the dichotomy of it all. Now to the important stuff: the food. You can’t go wrong with the burrata appetizer with prosciutto. My sister ordered the lasagna(I think). Whatever it was, it was damn good. I ordered the pasta with pear and walnuts in it as recommended by the server. It was mighty tasty. My only wish is that the walnuts were crushed a bit more so I wouldn’t have embarrassing flying walnut moments. We had the tiramisu for dessert which was standard. The service here was excellent. We totally took advantage of the Unilocal Check-In deal and the owner was very kind and very happy to provide the discount(unlike other places that shall remain nameless). I came in expecting little and I come out wanting more. Can’t wait to go back and try some of their other dishes.

The service was excellent. Our server Raul was very nice. I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was good, although the menu says that the Ravioli are filled with«chunks» of lobster, it was more like a lobster paste. However, they are filled nicely and I enjoyed the dish. The vodka sauce that covered them was good as well. The bread they serve before the meal is excellent. The olive oil with spices and grated Parmesan cheese is a nice touch. My husband couldn’t finish his meal so the manager brought us a to-go box and packed it herself in front of us, which I appreciated. When we left, we forgot the bag on the table so our server Raul ran to the parking lot to give us the bag! This was the fist time a server does this for us. I forgot to mention that the server opened the door for us when we left! Again, the service was excellent. Recommendation: At some point our server got busy. The manager realized and she came to help us. Then I saw the manager grilling Raul and the kid was even sweating. I felt bad for him. I appreciate that the manager wants excellence, but she shouldn’t have shown her emotions where customers could see her. Raul came back and apologized to us. I tipped him well because he was very humble and gave his best. I may come back and try the fettuccine. Thanks for reading :)

Divieto fills a void in authentic Italian eateries in Doral. The atmosphere is dark and relaxing. The food is always amazing and completely filling. For the reasonable prices the value is outstanding as you’ll definitely leave satisfied. The Chicken Piccata was outstanding.

I have Been following this restaurant on facebook since they opened their doors or at least since they joined fb. Being that it was a co-workers birthday and I work in the Doral area I brought her to this restaurant for lunch. We arrived around noon and surprisingly, it wasn’t packed and we were quickly seated. After a few minutes our waiter came to take our drink order. Soon came the bread basket with the dipping oil, the bread basket had an assortment of mini breads, the oil dipping sauce was the usual dip that consist of olive oil, black pepper and PARMIGIANO. We proceeded to place our lunch order, I ordered their lentil soup which I have heard is really good and my friend ordered a New England clam chowder. A few minutes later, they brought the clam chowder soup that my friend ordered and failed to bring me my lentil soup. I waited and waited and yet no soup. When the waiter came to our table to prepare my lunch on site, which was a creamy fettuccine prepared inside the parmigiano cheese wheel(my input on this, below) I told him that I no longer wanted the lentil soup as they never brought it. He said nothing not even an apology. I wasn’t impressed with our server, the food might be good but service needs to improve. I will probably go back withy family and hopefully have a pleasant experience this time. Going back to the preparation of the Fettuccini… although it looks interesting, I am not sure it’s very hygienic as the waiter’s hand, although, wearing a glove that covers only the hand, is inside the cheese wheel mixing the pasta and the sauce together, leaving the forearm exposed to arm hair falling inside. Maybe I am too picky but It made me think twice about what I ate.

Was in search of a yummy Italian place near my mom’s house. I had never been here so decided to try it out based on some of the reviews I read. As soon as I pulled up I was a little hesitant. I’m not a fan of chain restaurants but oh well. Inside was inviting for the most part. They definitely tried to set a more intimate feel with the dimmed lighting and soft music but with such a large place it’s a little difficult. We were seated at a booth off to a corner which was nice and more private. Our server came over to greet us… in Spanish. Now, I’m hispanic and I get that we live in Miami and I’m at a restaurant in Doral but geez this really bothers me. It’s not a Spanish restaurant ya know? So on to dinner… the menu is pretty extensive which is nice. We decided on the chicken madeira and fiocchi di pera. The chicken was extra cheesy(no problems there) and very flavorful. A little on the salty side for my taste, but that’s my taste. The fiocchi was also pretty good. The pasta itself was very good but the cream sauce was a little thick. I paired the food with a glass of the Pinot Noir they have by the glass and it was actually very good. Was actually too stuffed to try anything else but the deserts looked good. Overall a nice experience. I don’t know that I’ll come back on my own though… I’m partial to the mom and pops.

This was good but it could be better. We had the tuna tartare, the sea bass and sauteed veggies, the beef carpaccio with truffle oil and the lobster ravioli. We challenged them a bit by sitting outside but we weren’t the only people on their patio(view of the parking lot — I just like fresh air and they have the a/c on fairly strongly). The locals dress up to come to this place. Best to communicate in Spanish with your server if you can. We had several misunderstandings until we starting doing that. Our server did not indicate they didn’t understand us but obviously they didn’t. Our entrees came 5 minutes(felt like 5 minutes maybe 7) after our appetizers were delivered. That’s just silly. We each had one bite out of appetizers. The tartare lacked flavor. I requested lime to squeeze on each piece of tuna and that made some improvement. The seabass — the fish was very good, indeed moist as their menu described(juicy) and the veggies were good. I regretted getting something with a butter sauce though. That’s just me because I am dieting. I’m sure it added flavor and it definitely tasted good. I did see that they had a fettuccine with cheese made the genuine way in a Parmesan cheese wheel and the cheese they add to your pasta on request is shaved from a cheese block. That looked good. They did not offer cheese for my partner’s ravioli dish. Possibly inappropriate but leave it to the customer to decide. There was a baby SCREAMING in a corner of the restaurant(at least they were in a corner) when I went inside to go the restroom. A gentleman eating alone at the bar across from that corner looked very unhappy. Nothing a restaurant can do about that. It was Sunday night and it is expected people bring their kids out on Sunday. I read on Unilocal they were trying all sorts of things. Indeed the menu is very extensive. I read someone saw sushi on the menu — that is no longer there. I requested 2 samples of glass wine to decide which bottle to order and then they brought me a glass of wine. I purposely only tried glass wines that were available by the bottle. There are only a few of these. That was a misunderstanding. They saved me from myself though. My dining partner just stuck with beer(he had 4) but he had intended to share the bottle with me. My glass of wine took forever to show up after I made my choice. I finally asked someone who came out to the patio to the other table being served to check on the bottle I was expecting and our waitress asked me not to ask other people for things because it creates confusion. I wanted to take my dining partner out for a nice dinner to thank him for some wonderful technical help he gave me. The choices within reach of the Hampton Inn Miami Doral without a huge drive are limited when you want to go upscale and we had BOTH already eaten at the Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine. He had chosen Chef Adrianne’s Vineyard Restaurant and Wine Bar which sounded fabulous. It was a 15 mile drive which I was willing to do but it was booked. The person on the phone explained that they close at 9 on Sunday. I wanted something with some seafood choices so that excluded some local popular meat places.
