Awful experience!!! I tried two times this place and I just have to tell you this place is a mess, the service is poor(long time waiting for food, around half and hour), food not good, the ham bread(Venezuelan typical food) worst I ever had! My only advice. avoid this place!

Me encanto, me senti en venezuela de nuevo, los sandwiches espectaculares, la presentacion, nada que objetar, estan empezando y hay ciertas cosas por mejorar, pero el concepto y la calidad es A1. Felicidades.

I’m giving this place 3 stars instead of 2 because it truly hurts me to see how much money and time they spend in creating this business and would hate to see them close. However, I was SO disappointed the first time I tried them out. The bruschetta was literally a piece of french bread with chopped tomatoes on it(and olives because it’s mediterranean) The bread wasn’t toasted, the tomato didn’t taste seasoned, had no flavor… didn’t like it at all! Also ordered a Margherita Pizza and it was whatever. Nothing special. I also expected to find rare stuff in their market, like truffle oil and«delicatesses» just like it says on their name. I found stuff that you can find in the Publix 2 blocks away. There was nothing special about this market. Also, their wine cellar is BEAUTIFUL! Loved the decoration but the wine selection was cheap! Again, I hope the owners take these reviews to consideration and see that this gorgeous place has SOMUCHPOTENTIAL if only they put the same effort they put in the design towards their food quality!

I drive by Rey David almost every day on my way home. Finally, decided to stop and take a look at the Deli for myself even before reading any reviews. First of all, I was surprised to find it was an Italian deli because the name and logo is not even remotely Italian. The décor is kitschi Italian but clean, organized and overall nice ambiance. The deli had several employees standing around and talking but not paying attention to any customers. The great majority of products were Italian but some where not and most things could be found at Publix. The meat section was a feeble attempt of a butcher shop and the deli section was nothing special, again items you could find at Publix. Prices where difficult to ascertain although the items that did have a price were fair. Yet the real problem is that its not appetizing, its like what an Italian deli would look like in midwest theme park but not on par with the level of deli’s you can find in Miami. Another review mentioned Laurenzo’s, well Rey David is not even close. Laurenzos or Grazianos are not only better their not in the same league. I would be surprised the place lasts a year but looks like the owner has deep pockets so maybe he can afford to lose money.

This place bears the same name(logo included) and same idea of a very famous restaurant and specialty deli in Venezuela. The problem with the deli here is that almost everything they have there is easily available in Publix and if you are really looking for speciality ingredients and an amazing deli you rather have to take the drive to North Miami Beach and go to Laurenzo’s Italian market(totally worth the drive and the gas). We had lunch and I can’t say anything bad about it, it was average and for a 29 $ steak you expect something cooked right, the meat was neither medium nor medium-well. The service was a little bit slow but nice in and they treat us well.

Today our experience was excellent! We only had 2 coffees and a take out pizza, their Hawaiian pizza has a little twist which was good. We were the only people around 4ish which I thought it was weird since every time we go there is always busy.

Very disappointed! Don’t get me wrong, the food is Awesome! Had today the Auyama cream, Ajoporro and chicken crêpe and everything was fresh and delicious! Our table also had the salmon carpaccio which was very nice and the only throwback was the Granjero sandwich which had fried chicken that tasted old and was very dry. Although, would order food anytime from them but either take out our delivery: Worst service ever!!!, our waiter did not bring water for us to start our lunch, took forever to bring it when asked, had to remind him a dozen times, and overall reaaally slow service until of course he brought the check(which he messed up while splitting of course) and stood at the table until we had signed and handed them to him. NOTE there were only around 4 tables while we were there. They also ran out of the juice we were having during our lunch, also ran out of mushrooms for the crepes(kind of reminded me of the situation in Venezuela where you have to ask what do they have from the menu everyday) 2 stars just because it would be unfair not to credit the food but they need to do something about their service!

The wine sector has an awful location, not wheelchair accessible, which is embarrassing for a delicatessen in the US. Very limited options in the Deli, overpriced and attendants that couldn’t speak English. Another thing that bothered me was the lack of price labels in the deli. We have to ask for every single price and they search on a list for the price per pound, in Spanish(of course). Went straight to their Argentine competitor, and no wonder is was full of people and I was able to find everything I wanted receiving a great customer service, in English by the way or Spanish. I left this place empty handed.

Two stars because the staff was extremely helpful. Basically they spent way more energy on the bizarre furnishings than food quality. The bread is that pre-frozen stuff that you finish baking and it tastes super cheap. Come on — going to charge more than 10 bucks for a sandwich it had better be good bread. Need a real chef to take control before it’s too late iMHO.

Not a good first experience for breakfast. We orders Rey David Breakfast 2 and an Italian Sandwich. The scrambled eggs were tasteless, the sausage very salty, and the baguette less then average. The only good thing was the marmalade. The Italian Salami sandwich came cold(was supposed to be hot), I asked to re-heat it, waitress came back in less than 2 minutes and of course it was cold. They added alfalfa and green peppers to the sandwich for no apparent reason. The dijon mustard was a mayonese?! Again, the baguette was mediocre. The natural juices were ok, one Watermelon and one Pineapple. At $ 4.95 each I would expect a bigger cup. The service was very attentive. The décor attempts to be Italian, French and Latin American all at once… but in the end it looks ok. Will try them for lunch sometime soon.

Pizzas, Crepes, Grilled Salmon were superb. They have all kind of delicatesses and the local is big enough. Walk around to enjoy this feast. We tried several pizzas, crepes and the grilled salmon. Great. They just need a bigger beer variety. Thanks

I have been looking forward to this place. They have an amazing selection of charcuterie. Rey David sells the finest Serrano ham, called jamón ibérico de bellota(acorn). This ham is from free-range pigs that roam oak forests. The pound is $ 90 dollars. I liked that their price range is broad, they also sell another Serrano for $ 9 dollars a pound. The marketplace offers many unique products such as pastas, herbs, sauces and canned products which are not widely available. It feels a little like being in a mini Harrod’s food section. The prices aren’t bad. They also have a sit down restaurant. We had lunch and the food was very good. I had a chicken salad with honey mustard dressing and my friend had the smoked salmon pumpernickel open faced sandwich. It was delicious, the salmon was very delicate and it came with a yummy coleslaw with raisins. The bread was great. I can’t wait to come back for breakfast. The place is extremely clean, the décor is a bit over the top, almost garish, but well appointed. I think they will have great success.

I love this place. They have a carpaccio to die for. Their Italian gelato is amazing. They have a butchery, a liquor department with a wide variety of wines and hard liquors, and a gourmet market with food from all over the world. If you want to eat a REAL Italian NUTELLA this is the place! There is nothing like this place around.

This is a marketplace were you will find a large variety of products from cooked meats, salads, pizza, sweets, and much more. They have a butchery, a coffee bar, a wine section and a sitting area with table service. The person who helped us recommended a piece of meat which was the star of our grill at home. It was exquisite to the last bite and the only thing used for seasoning was course sea salt. The meat was fresh, juicy and tender at all times. Definitely will be back to dine in.
