Comcast Service Center

I was just here this past Monday July 6 2015. The even thou the line was long but it moves pretty fast.

Brutal! I’m using this form as a place to rant because really there is nothing else to do at this point. Just moved and had to move comcast Internet and cable services. In the past week I have spent close to 5 hours on the phone with this company and spent 10 hours waiting for installation and still do not yet have it up and running and it’s looking like they’ll have to come back yet again. The company is everything that is wrong with corporate America. No matter how bad customer support is it doesn’t matter because I have no choice but to use them because I need Internet to do my job etc. I don’t blame the poorly trained or poorly equipped workers but clearly they are understaffed and the people whose opinion matters could care less. In what other industry do you get a three hour window of if someone might be there and when they do get there they don’t have the right tools?!? I’m sure others have had bad experiences but there has gotta be a way I can stick it to the man? Never done a Facebook rant before but it had to be done. Ideas and comments welcome

Just finished a 55:11 phone call with 2 Comcast representatives.
Both had poor services skills. The call lasted so long because they were searching for information he whole time and pulling my information.
The 1^st representative kept on trying to up-​sell me through the entire call.
The numbers and packages they offered over the phone were much higher than the website.
This company is AWFUL!!!

Outside of Boston? Check
Difficult to get to? Check
Sketchy neighborhood with classy gentlemen to heckle the ladies? Check
Ridiculously long lines? Check
Even the RMV is more accommodating than a Comcast Service Center.

This is a review for Comcast customer service in general, not just this specific location.
I have been a customer for three years now (mainly because there’s not many alternatives in Boston) and have had my ups and downs, but this has been the worst experience yet.
I give them two stars because I truly adored the guys who met with me and gave us a great deal, our bill went way down this year and we have more services. They were hilarious and personable, and did everything they could do to get us set up with a plan that didn’t put us into crippling debt. However, everything else about this installation was awful. A few things really irritated me.
First, when Comcast comes to remove their own cable boxes in order to replace them with different/​new ones they WILL NOT take the old ones with them and require that you bring them to a service center yourself. This is a result of the installation guys, who are probably at Comcast offices at some point during their day, being «unable» to return equipment. For a young adult living in the middle of a city, it is incredibly difficult for me to carry 20 pounds of equipment to our «closest» Comcast service center, which may I add, is in the middle of a very questionable area in Roxbury.
Second, I was given an address by the installation guy of a location in the south end where I could drop off our stuff. After lugging all the equipment there on a hot day, I found there to be no such location, and then had to pay a lot of money to get a cab out to the Roxbury location (there isn’t convenient public transit.)
When I dropped off the stuff, the lady at the counter told me I was missing small power cords from the boxes, which frustrated me further because the installation guy had said that everything he gave us to return was all we needed. I didn’t want to face another charge on the account for a failure to return anything. Luckily I argued my way out of it.
Normally, I find that there is an average 20 minute holding time for any customer service phone calls that are not promising them more money (I only waited 30 seconds to sign up for Comcast…) while the phone techs are nice, I feel the money we saved on our new cable plan was then spent on my trekking around the Boston area to find a service center.
I hope that soon there is another good cable option in the city so I can run far away from Comcast. For now, I’ll take what I can get.

It’s really weird to see so many negative reviews. I have been here a few times, initially to start up my Comcast service and to replace and return a few devices. I never had a problem at this location, ever. I would say to go as early as possible. If I need to go to a comcast service center, I find that it is usually best to go as early as I can because there’s less of a chance that there will be a long wait. Be polite to the workers here. Remember, they are normal people like me and you, they just happen to work for an evil company.

The prices charged don’t match the services provided with Comcast. This is one of the absolute companies to deal with and is the reason consumers should have a CHOICE in cable rather than be dictated to whom provides it. I waited over an hour just to get a box from a rude staff member!

I would almost rather experience a root canal then have to call COMCAST. It is painful, EVERY single time. The service employee’s that make it out to the house are usually SO nice, not necessarily, competent in what they do– not all, but some. The customer service is truly a disgrace. I have never had a phone call take less than a half hour… usually only to get bounced around. I’ve had the service for 7 plus years, I’m paying $ 175/​month. I call once a year, usually… you would think that they could get it right. I mean, I understand it’s not the person on the lines fault, so I TRY MY HARDEST to be patient with them, but come on people, it’s insane. I’m thinking VERIZON has got to be better?

Ordered cable and internet service and they said I’d have service by weds. it is now friday with no service. I missed the first NFL game of the season where peyton manning threw 7 touchdowns. I am beyond livid. Really bad customer service

i have been a comcast/​xfinity customer for about 7 years and never have i ever experienced what i experienced recently. my internet was not working and continues not to work because comcast states that, «we cannot get a technician out to your residents until august 20…» my internet stopped working on august 17 so you do the math. 3 days with no internet??? are you serious!!!
after being on the phone, getting transferred with many different service agents/​it agents to trouble shoot the system most of the day and being put on hold multiple times for minutes on end so they could, «update their system and try to figure it out» is unbelievable!!!
all they could do is say that they were, «sorry». i’m sorry too for paying an outrageous amount money every month for cable and internet and dealing with this auful service. after all that, when i asked them to credit my account for the days for not having access to the internet they stated that, «they could not credit my account until after the technician comes to my residents». are you serious!!! i don’t believe that…
answer me this: is this the type of customer service that we want to deal with after being a loyal customer for 7 years? i think not!!!
maybe i’ll just change my service. who’s with me…

Sometimes you have to turn in your old cable box or drop off a payment. This is a place you can do it if you live in the area. Conveniently closed at lunchtime!
Easy street parking for the most part. Convenient to Savin Hill and Upham’s Corner.
