Came in from out of town and loved this place! Décor outside looks plain but on the inside its well decorated and very cute! Staff was very friendly and my iced latte was just as good!

The 1st time I visited this location everything was so awesome! We’re from Louisiana and don’t have Dakota Coffee and my wife and I were amazed at the yummy drinks. We both agreed they were better than Starbucks. Every time we visit the area we visit a Dakota coffee. This is my 5th and last time at this location. They can be great with the quality ingredients they have but due to lack of training of the employees, they usually fall way short and we end up with disappointment in our expensive drinks. The consistency in quality is just not at this location. How can they mess up with a frozen drink made with a mix? …just put in enough of the mix so it has flavor and doesn’t look like pulverized dirty ice. Don’t let this review scare you off from trying Dakota Coffee however, just try it at a different location. I’ve never been dissatisfied at the other locations.

Truly awful owners. Any owner that would keep his employee’s tips deserves to see his business go under. Also, depending on who is making your coffee you might get a bad drink. To be fair, none of the baristas are really trained. The baristas that do make good drinks are the ones who have prior experience. There’s a reason most of the customers get frozen drinks. It’s really hard to mess up dehydrated mocha mix.

I frequent this place often. Baristas are nice and friendly. Coffee is superb and the atmosphere is funky and artsy. The thing I do not like about this coffee shop is the owner/manager castigates his employees in front of customers. I have been there twice when he has done this and I am not going to return to the shop. The man talks to his employees like dogs says«I’ve done this for ten years.» He may have had reason to criticize his employees but as a customer I don’t want to hear it. Afterwards the employees whisper about his actions and what they did wrong and it throws the whole coffee shop vibe off. Avoid this place at all costs of you see an older guy with a beard behind the counter, otherwise it’s a great place.

Lukewarm coffee, uninterested server. 10÷16÷14. Still have a snack rack in front of cream/sugar station. Won’t be going back.

I want to like Dakota, I really do. We patronized the closed location in Eufaula, as well as what I believe to be the original location on the Circle. Shoot, we even have a pair of DCW mugs at home. For reference, one star for me would be either absolute dreck or a ghastly experience. Two stars means I won’t be going back. Last time we were in Dothan, I got passable espresso, but had to reason with them to avoid being overcharged. This time I had to buy two separate doubles to get four shots without being charged $ 1.49 per extra shot. Even that might be forgivable if the brew was good. It was not. It was bitter, tasting of old beans, and was well below proper temperature. It was only made drinkable by taking it home and adding it to a cup of brewed coffee. Dothan is big enough for one of the major players to open a convenient location in the near future. Unless the product improves, when competition arrives, I expect Dakota’s train to leave the station.

This is a neat place to go. Prices were comparable to most other coffee shops. It is located in a small shopping center next to a gas station. The two female workers seemed happy, one singing continually while I was in there. My wife greatly enjoys a mocha and still prefers a Starbucks mocha. The service was good and friendly. The cup is the same as what you would get at a gas station. A branded coffee cup would also prove the experience :)

I love it, the owner and the recommendations. I don’t go to Alabama without stopping in. Too bad Sept 11 made him close a few locations. It’s worth the trip though.

Dakota Coffee is a great little coffee house. Locals know it as a great place to meet a friend to talk or study. It’s also a popular meeting place for small community groups. Dakota Coffee stays busy trying to satisfy the local desire for frozen coffee drinks, but they still remember how to make them hot too. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great. Free Wi Fi. Genuine pound cake baked by a genuine grandma. Homemade cupcakes.
