El Chef Restaurant

The best chilli rellenos I have ever had in a restaurant! My hubby said he loved the Carne asada burrito in red sauce as well. The people are very friendly and take good care of you. The prices are about $ 10 a plate but the portions are generous. The restaurant is colorful and very clean. The restroom was well stocked and clean. They even have a little area they sell pottery, if your interested. We will eat here every time we come to Douglas!

Love this place! The menudo is amazing. The people are wonderful and kind about everything. The chiles rellenos are so good! Not to mention the bang for your buck. Big portions and great prices.

Carne asada burritos are good shredded beef tacos where good but I didn’t care for the salsa

I love the food here. The staff is all family. They are sweet people. It can take awhile sometimes, but it’s worth the wait.

Every time I go down to Douglas, I try and stop at El Chef. Their menudo is top notch! I always go for the white kind because… well…it’s delicious! It comes with toasted buttered pan birote and a dish of all the fixings. Service is ok for a small town, nothing to write home about, but the staff is always friendly. My son doesn’t like menudo and he’ll order a burrito with fries. Being a typical mom, I have to sample my kids food. It was really good. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten food here that didn’t taste good.
If you ever find yourself in Douglas, make sure that you spot in a have a bowl of menudo!

I brought my mom and wife for mother’s day, it was packed. GREAT FOOD, great service, very nice ambiance and decore. trully authentic.

This is a great restaurant that has been serving the Douglas population for years!
I only ate inside the restaurant a couple of times and the service was decent, not the kind of service that you could do away with in a bigger city and still have such a high Unilocal rating. Usually I go there and order menudo to go. Wow, I am in love with their menudo! It is the ultimate comfort food! Muy delicioso :) Their tacos de cabeza are also really good! I am willing to be that the rest of the food is equally delicious and will have to adventure and try other items. How can this restaurant improve? Speed of service is slow and friendliness can be stepped up a notch, then I would definitely give them 5 stars!

Why is this place not showing up? The food is good, place is very clean, reasonable prices and friendly service what else do I need?

So this is a place I frequent when I’m working out at the cochise college flight line. They have 5 star food, the entire menu is great and simple. The salsa that comes with the chips is tasty, probably 4 out of 10 on the hot scale. You can request hotter which is about 7 out of 10 for heat.
I typically get the asada tacos, it is the perfect amount of rice, beans and taco to fill me up. Other greatness would be the burritos. Come with a big appetite because they will send you home with a dog bag if you don’t.
This is a staple in the Douglas community, the Sheriff, Local PD and Border Patrol frequent this place, as well as all us workers looking for a awesome meal!
They are always sweet and friendly, which makes for a 5 star experience.

The best Mexican food in Cochise County. Worth the wait. The chicken enchiladas melt in your mouth – delicious green chile (the hardest to make). Can’t recommend more.

As good as it gets? YES!
Now we are talking Mexican, food to die for! I will eat 3 meals a day if I could… if I could afford it I mean.
Even do I LOVE their food I hesitate sometimes for two reasons, a bit pricey and sometimes service seems to be coming in a turtle instead of a Macho Mexican Horse!!!
But you know what, this is one of those that you are willing to take whatever it takes to get to that food. It might be «sneaking from your family to go eat there alone and not spend too much money on a family meal or waiting a few –or– a lot more minutes to get your meal on a busy restaurant day «just to savor the goodnes of GREAT Mexican Comida!
