Great, fun place. We stayed in cabin 2 which had 2 full size beds, flat screen tv, wifi, refrigerator & great shower. Cabins are behind the restaurant & tavern. Good food, not great, live band at night, nice looking swimming pool. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely go back.

This is quite likely the worst place I’ve ever stayed, and that is saying something since I took a trip around the country with my brother when I was 19 and we were trying to stay in motels that cost $ 20 or less in the deep south. The design/set up of the whole place is poorly thought out. The ‘cabins’ are just houses in a row with only a few feet between each other on a shoddy dirt(dare I say) road; it’s more like an alleyway. The cabins back up onto their pool, which might be nice if it wasn’t the pool that directly attaches to their bar(which comes replete with really stereotypically average rock music incredibly loud). For a town that is actually fairly serene and pleasant, they have managed to really take the class level down. The lodging itself has several major issues; 1) It smells. The sort of smell that implies it isn’t cleaned regularly. 2) It isn’t cleaned regularly. The amount of dirt on the floor, grime on the ‘bedside table’(TV dinner tray), and just overall filth in the bathroom was hideous. The fact that I arrived at 2:50 and they made me wait ten minutes to check in because they ‘needed to make sure the rooms were ready’ was the additional insult to injury. 3) Hot water doesn’t last, I’m a quick one in the shower, and five minutes of hot water isn’t too much to ask, is it? 4) The ‘cabin’ I stayed in was located DIRECTLY next to the pool and the parking lot, what does that mean? That means that at 1:15 am, when the bar closed down, a large group of drunk fools hung out by my door, waking me up, and definitely waking anyone else up(if anyone else was foolish enough to stay here). They were there for at least 20 minutes, no one ever asked them to leave, no one ever did anything to help move them along, which would be logical since the people at the bar must certainly be aware that guests sleep feet away from this. If they aren’t aware of that, they aren’t too bright. 5) You get a free breakfast, which consists of coffee, toast, and an egg. Standard diner food as long as you understand that everyone, and I mean literally everyone who is working there will be loudly complaining about anything and everything. A boyfriend is cheating? Complain loudly. You spill water on the floor? Complain loudly. You can’t find a man? Complain loudly. I’m certain that will fix your situation. Overall, this really is a terrible option for lodging, especially for the price(how do you justify charging seventy dollars for something that is so below average?) There is a beautiful looking bed and breakfast in town called the Freedom House Bed and Breakfast; if I’d noticed them online I would have certainly chosen it(it’s in a beautiful neighborhood, visually stunning on the outside… maybe it’s as ugly as this place but I doubt that’s possible!)
