What? How did I not know this place was there? Tucked away on a small corner across from Furys(dont go there) Good home made beers, get the tots! My only complaint is I ordered the chrizo tacos expecting them to be spicy. … you know, like chrizo. Much to my disappointment that was not the case.

I’ve visited countless times… always fantastic food. I’m not a beer drinker, so it’s cocktails for me, however, that part of the menu isn’t extensive. But I go for the creative food. With a farm to table approach, you never know what you’ll be offered. On two different occasions, I’ve been lucky enough to get the flatbread that includes sweet potato as topping… absolutely delish! Service is excellent.

Warmly greeted by hostess and quickly served drinks by a very efficient waitress but that was the only two good things to say about this restaurant! The food was terrible! I ordered the fish tacos that was so over cooked, the type of fish was undistinguishable. I knew I was in trouble as soon as the dish was placed in front of me, made me wonder why the chef didn’t notice how unappetizing the dish appeared.

My husband and I went for lunch. The atmosphere is rustic and pretty rad. However, it’s extremely loud and all of the tables are really close together. We were seated right away and it was very busy; the server didn’t ask us for our drink order for over 10 minutes. Once we had our orders in everything was served in a reasonable amount of time. I got the veggie burger which was bland had it not been for the toppings and my husband got a burger which he really enjoyed. The food was pretty good and the service was ok. I’m glad I tried it but I’m not sure if it will be another date destination.

I’ve only ever had brunch here, but it’s great. Really great seasonal specials, with great looking produce. I got a lobster omelette a while back and I’ve never seen so much lobster crammed into an omelette in my life, maybe I’m just too used to being ripped off elsewhere. The drinks are fun and inspired. I don’t get a lot of opportunity to go out in Dover anymore, but I’ll certainly be back here.

I really like going here — it’s always really good, with creative spins on food — sometimes its a hit, sometimes a miss(like the bacon chocolate cake — not a fan). They take time in creating their meals and it shows.

Not my favorite. We’ve tried it twice now and both times our meals were disappointing. While the variety the menu promises is exciting, the actual execution of the dishes is not. Most of our appetizers(while hot) were served warm/cold. Our entrees were much better than the appetizers, but still not something I would want to try again. I cannot understand why Dover cannot get food right. That said, the place is always packed so I am very likely wrong and you should still give it a go! Just stick to the beer.

Delicious brews and food. Bar service has always been excellent. Table service has been ok. Several waitresses seem less than thrilled to be there some of the time. LOVE the«local-ness» this place supports and offers!

Love the beer they make at this place. I try to grab a growler every time I come. As for the food it is awesome. Everything on the menu I’ve had has exceeded my expectations. My perception is that while it’s a brewery which pumps out awesome beers like«Chiggity Czech Yourself» the food is the most pleasant surprise about coming here.

Great atmosphere, everyone is friendly, great food made with local ingredients. Trivia night is well done and really fun! Best restaurant by far in Dover!

The food is pretty good and it’s a must for any beer enthuisiest. I never enjoyed the atmosphere as it gets really loud and the long tables make it difficult for a big group to mingle.

Went here for lunch with a friend. We had 3 kids with us — one in a stroller. For starters, the business isn’t accessible. There are several stairs at the entrance to get into the restaurant. That’s a shame. For lunch, I had a burger with pub cheese and fried onions. It was quite possibly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The meat used for the burgers was top quality. I also had a hard cider which was quite good. The waitress raved about the fries but I didn’t think they were all that. The ketchup is home made and I think I should have been impressed, but it was too chunky to stick to the fries. My daughters ordered a cheeseburger and chicken strips kids meals. They charge $ 2 to add a piece of cheese the size of a quarter to the kids burger. The chicken strips were good — for an adult. They were too spiced for my plain tastes of my kids. Service was mediocre. Ambiance is nice. I’d try it again sans children.

Went here once, had a great experience. Came again, not so much. Service and timing of receiving food was horrendous. When a problem with our meal was brought to the attention of our server, we were told we’d need to wait more than 20 minutes to get something else, leaving us with no choice but to eat something that was awful. The manager graciously gave us a $ 3 discount for our troubles, and didn’t even come to the table to apologize. This is no joke.

I cannot say I’ve had a better micro brew experience… achem, I mean, «craft beer», experience than 7th Settlement. To begin, the beer is incredible. The Brown Ale is by far, the best Brown Ale I have ever had. And the food, so far I am 3 for 3 with 3 different delicious meals. Additionally, the décor and overall atmosphere at this joint is wonderful. The staff and crowd are both friendly and the place is warm and inviting. I highly recommend 7th Settlement in Dover, NH for a food, beer or both!

This may be a liberal 3-star rating, but 2.75 stars don’t exist. The good: Nice atmosphere(very typical gastro-pub environment), attentive service, clean, and a promising looking menu. Oh, and the beer is above average, a solid B for beer(oatmeal stout is great). The homemade ketchup also gets high praise from me, though it needs a bigger hit of vinegar and onion powder. I cannot stand big name ketchup, theirs might throw you off because of how tomatoey it is, but it definitely gets bonus points from me… because my points matter in the real world.(That’s sarcasm). The mediocre: The food! I do not understand why gastro-pubs, in this area, cannot make a consistent and delicious menu. It’s as if they give someone the reigns, they get«creative», and no one points out their short comings because it’s a cool place. It’s not creative, it’s not good, it’s the epitome of mediocre, and it’s the biggest downfall of the micro-brew/gastro-pub industry. The food here is not bad per-say, but holy crap is it boring. It’s boring, and it’s either way over seasoned, or blander than bland. For example, I got a Reuben, a very simple sandwich. Incredibly salty corned beef, essentially raw cabbage for sour kraut, and beautiful french fries. A side of cole slaw, it was essentially cabbage with mayo… no vinegar, no sugar, no nothin’. Pretty dismal on the Reuben. The wings were also pretty nice; ginger cider glaze was almost ginger-less in flavor, but still was a very nice glaze. The«creamed bleu cheese» was also a nice touch. The Bad: The pricing… is all out of whack. Some menu items are priced exactly where they should be, others… not so much. For example, a scallop dish on a Brussel spout hash with cauliflower purée, sounds lovely. Problem is, it’s not 6 scallops for $ 23+…it’s 3 scallops sliced in half for $ 23+. That’s a no-no. At $ 13.99/lb market price currently, that dish is marked up about 72%. Yikes. Not to mention they were overcooked, and over-seasoned. The hash and cauliflower purée were very nice though. Check this place, maybe order some beers and apps and go somewhere else for entrées. It’s perhaps time for a new Chef or a flavor profile overhaul.

Atmosphere is a pretty cool eye candy. Rustic. Clean & cool. Our waiter was outstanding. Hospitality on point. Food– my husband & I were underwhelmed with our sandwiches. Beer was just ok. I’ll come again with a group but won’t be a destination spot for us.

I want SO much to like 7th Settlement. I’ve been several times and always been a little underwhelmed. It has SO much potential and I love the farm-to-table concept. Unfortunately, it’s always just a little disappointing to me. Whether it’s waiting 30+ minutes for your burger to arrive, or feeling that your meal was just shy of good for whatever reason, I can’t really recommend it as a great place to go. I don’t know if it’s one of those concepts that is great in theory and the execution is lacking, but it just falls short for me almost every time. The menu descriptions often sound a lot more delicious than the plate actually ends up being.

Good: Owners are nice guys. Friendly atmosphere. The interior styling is really cool, just check out what the bar is made of! Guess they counted the rings and it’s older than the country the bar is in! Beer is great and always changing. Bad: Farm style seating is miserable. Especially if your party ends up getting stuck next to someone obnoxious(loud, elbows,…). Eh: Food is ok. Has gotten much better over the years. Very local and unique.

After reading good things and loving scratch kitchens and local brewpubs, we drove over an hour to come here. Luckily, we had other things that made our visit enjoyable, because this place wasn’t it. The restaurant vibe and industrial atmosphere is bright and airy. The bathrooms are clean as is the restaurant. There is on street and lot parking. We sat at the bar and it was quite busy with only one bartender. Our disappointment started with the fact that this is a brewpub and you have no idea what beer is what style or flavors. You’re in your own. The bartender who could not be bothered with us didn’t have a handout nor did the menu explain anything. We ordered a few different beers on tap by way of a sampler. I’ve been to a lot of places and tried a lot of beer. Four out of the six tasted nearly exactly e same, one was terrible and tasted like grapefruit juice and the last one, a brownish, was okay. Sadly, the best part were the scratch-made spicy peanuts. But seriously, they’re peanuts, how hard is that? We tried the pretzel braid, which was okay, but would have been better with a hot beer cheese dip rather than the grainy mustard. We noticed others who got an additional handout with the daily specials, but we were not that lucky. Poor service. When we lef, we asked the hostess if there was a handout explaining the beer and she looked at us like we were from Mars. We couldn’t get out of their fast enough. We will not return.

I have been here twice. I love that they use local food sources. The beer is pretty stellar as well. My favorite that I have tried has been the Oatmeal Stout. I think I will try a flight the next time I’m here.
