They get one star because they have state of the art technology. They get another star because they have lots of glasses to choose from. where they fail is you are just a number, among many other numbers waiting to get their eyes checked. you only see the actual doctor for a very brief time. Only after your technician has completed 90 percent of the exam. Everytime I have gone, and my family and I went there for years, it is always crowded. You basically move from room to room for different parts of the exam. And the eye scan they recommend is not covered by insurance. I decided to take my business else where to a place that actually cares I am a customer. Like eye2eye optometry in downtown dover. Sometimes it’s possible to get too big dr. Halpern.

I was contacted by a Halpern representative in response to my review here. She invited me to contact their insurance manager for assistance with my billing issues, which I declined, as I had already spent considerable time on the matter before giving up and paying the overcharge. She then offered to send me a check for $ 50 as an apology for the inconvenience if I would send her my mailing address. I bit, although I thought it would turn out to be a scam, and sent her my mailing address. A check has since arrived, and assuming it doesn’t bounce [ ;) ] then that goes a long way toward improving my view of them. As I mentioned in my original review, the docs and the facility were fine, it was the billing department I had major issues with. It appears as though they’ve turned over a new leaf, and I appreciate that.
