Halpern Eye Care

My eye doctor was great. That’s what the two stars are for. I switched from a different optometrist, and he was 100x more thorough than the last one.
This is where any decent service stops.
I’m SO tired of calling a doctor’s office and being hounded about my insurance information. I have insurance. I told them I have insurance. I told them that I would bring my insurance information in when I came in. This is like a $ 200 exam. I’m not having open heart surgery. You’ll get to bill my insurance company, people. Chill out.
After making my appointment, and explaining that I would find my eye plan, (already knew they took it) and being told that was fine, I received no less than three phone calls asking for my insurance information. Finally, I found it a few days before my appointment, and gave it to them. (Though I did say I’d walk in and show them the cash for the exam when I walked in, just to put them at ease that I could, in fact, afford the exam)
I get there, pressed for time, and am told that they can’t find it. So I wait, and wait, then they finally find and verify my insurance. They were not cool about this at all… I felt like I was being treated as someone trying to scam them out of a free eye exam. I could have achieved this end result walking in with my insurance information that day, which was my plan in the first place. (I, like most people, don’t carry my eye care plan information in my wallet, like I do my health insurance card)
I needed glasses. I was willing to pay their jacked up prices for a pair, but, somehow, I get to the desk to order my glasses, and the guy can’t find my prescription in their system. THE PRESCRIPTION THAT WAS JUST ENTERED INTO THEIR SYSTEM!
Walked out… ordered glasses online. (frames and coated bifocal lenses… $ 130)
Won’t go back.

Highly recommended. Dr. Iskaner is wonderful. His care and advice keep my eyes healthy. The staff here is very friendly and professional. Overall: great service, great selection, great experience.

I highly recommend this office. Everyone is super friendly as well as professional. They are very knowledgeable about the care of your eyes. I have a hard time choosing glasses, but they are so patient and so helpful that my decision is much easier here.
