Though not as showy as their next door competitors, Mattress Express delivers on quality service and true knowledge of the product they sell. The BF and I went in looking for a mattress that was within our set budget and fit our sleeping style. Hector, our salesman(who I believe is also be the owner), took note of that and directed us immediately to three different Sealy beds. Don’t be turned off by the humble décor. No, it’s not as showy as the guys next door and no, Hector wasn’t wearing a suit, but rest assured that you’re getting a good quality mattress and your money is going to an honest, hard-working man. He explained the«plushness» of each one and examined the way we laid down. He noticed that I laid on my back when I was testing it out. He was quick to point out that we should test beds by laying on them the way we usually sleep — meaning I should have been on my side rather than my back. After we agreed on a bed, he went on to reassure us that we were getting a good value out of the one we chose. It was on special, so it was a really good deal. He showed us a diagram of the guts of the bed — what made this bed superior to Bed ‘A’, but not as expensive as Bed ‘C’, etc. He continued to explain the skeleton of the box spring(the bed base) and how it was most likely better and more durable han the one we currently had at home — and he was right. He was truly knowledgeable and was truly genuine in matching the right mattress to us. We originally went in looking for a king size bed, but he convinced us that a king size is overkill(we’re not big people) and that a queen would be more economical and easier to own(king sheets cost more, easier to move, etc.). We hadn’t thought about it that way and appreciated that he wasn’t out to make a quick buck. We actually stopped into his store first, but wanted to do comparison shopping next door at Sleepy’s. He encouraged the idea because he knew how important it is to be thorough in making such a big purchase, but he also knew that we would come back to his store.
