New Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant

We went here for lunch. The ratings were fairly high for this type of restaurant and they did not disappoint. We had garlic chicken and orange chicken. Both were done very well. We will be back. I avoid more chinese restaurants as they usually cut corners unless you are in Europe bur this place does it right. Very nice staff here too.

Their food is good and better than some in this region. A neighbor suggested them and we liked their take out. However, we thought we’d try eating in the restaurant one weekend in December. The aquarium was magnificent. Beautiful tropical fish. While the fish tank was heated, it seems the dining room wasn’t. We kept our coats on. The room was empty and that was probably why. We asked if they could turn it up and the very nice waitress said she had tried but to no avail. You can see in our photo my wife wanting to warm her hands around the super hot tea mugs. We had to ask for sugar, not on the table. The food was great. Shrimp egg fu yung and General Tso chicken. The dumplings were good too. The cold room sapped the heat from the food so we had to eat it quicker than we’d prefer before it got cold. We will wait till Spring to try again.
Went back in the spring with my wife and we had a wonderful meal there, and the temperature was perfect. Service is very attentive and kind. The food hot and delicious!

I felt obliged to write a review for chinese food restaurant i have been ordering from since high school. This place was formerly Number 1 hong kong or at least they tell me that.
Here are some important points from this place
1 the food is always the same quality. I like it, you probably will too. If you don’t you just might not like chinese food.
2 For the past 12 years it has always been 15 minutes for pick up 45 minutes for deliver. No matter if i order the minimum or 15 combination dinners, I have always had the option for pick up in 15 minutes or deliver in 45. They obviously employ psychics.
3 They always give you a free soda. Like a 2 liter coke (might be one of those 1.5L) Which is an added perk.
4 «Crab cheese» is crab rangoon. They could have updated the menu, but i have an old one.
5 Their catering trays are not a bad idea to feed 6 – 8 people. Get some rice too unless you don’t need rice. I can make due just eating extra Generals Tso’s

This is the best fast food/​delivery Chinese Restaurant in NJ, but also nice to dine-​in. I love that the hostess is multilingual (English, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese) and very friendly. The vegetable fried brown rice is a delicious compliment to the sweet and spicy General Tso’s Chicken. They serve some of the best sweet plantains I’ve ever had (a Latin American dish reflective of the Latino/​a community in Dover NJ).

The first time going to «NEW Hong Kong Chinese restaurant «61 East Blackwell Street 973 989 2130 was a wonderful experience. We had chicken rice soup the hostess was very nice. Has large TV 5 medium tables 5 huge Tables beautiful fish tank. Very clean and cozy Thank You owner Joe Y

Hands down, the best wonton soup I’ve ever had.
We usually order delivery, but I was passing by, so I decided to pick it up myself… I was shocked at how clean & beautifully decorated the restaurant was! Really nice ambiance… I may have to eat-​in real soon.
We’ve only ordered from them a few times so far, but I really think New Hong Kong will be my new «go-​to» for our Chinese food needs. We’ve tried a few dishes & so far, everyone has been pleased.
The General Tso’s was excellent… not cloyingly sweet (as is usually the case). My daughter is a fan of the lo mein. VERY reasonably priced.

I work at a local pizzeria, and I’m sick of pizza and Italian food. I spent the last couple of days looking for a decent Chinese place in town. I think I found it. Now this isn’t a sit down place, but the food is pretty damn good.

Tried the beef & broccoli in garlic sauce lunch special. It tasted great. Nice reduction on the sauce too. Also tried the singapore mi fun. Great stuff.
Now for the negative things. There was a giant barrel of msg sitting right there as you look into the cooking area (they are currently using the barrel for a chair!) I usually try to avoid it. Also they really need to do a thorough cleaning of this place. Especially the floors in the cooking areas. It looks like food is being swept into all the corners & instead of being removed & areas sanitized.
So great food but the restaurant is lacking in cleanliness. I hope they clean the place up so I can feel more confident about occasionally eating here!
