Yonan Carpet One

I highly recommend getting flooring from Yonan One; they make sure that every installation is done very well indeed, and work hard to see that each customer is satisfied. I especially recommend Julie, the point person who I worked with. She did all aspects of coordinating the work. There were a few minor glitches and she went far above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that everything was done properly and perfectly. I hope the company realizes what a treasure they have in Julie – if you decide to go to Yonan’s for flooring, maybe you will be lucky and work with her.

The Good:
Our salesman was very nice, knowledgeable and, admittedly, patient with us. If that’s all there was, we’d use Yonan Carpet One in Downers Grove, IL again.
The Bad:
Our installers did a terrible job that I am still regretting when I step on loose staples they didn’t get up (2 months later!) but more disappointing was the quality of their work. They were obviously working very fast, and even mentioned how they had a «side-​job» right after ours. If I could post pictures here, I would. The edges are different from hallway side to hallway side, where one side looks correct, and the other side of the same hallway looks like they stapled a half inch from the wall, leaving a deep depression along the wall on one side of the hallway, and not the other, making it look like two different in installation methods. This inconsistency of how it was laid is seen throughout the entire house, upstairs and downstairs.
On one part where a simple 90 degree cut was made, THEY CUT TO FAR into the corner, so now there is a stapled down, cut piece of carpet.
The stairs are pretty amateurish as well.
We’ll be going elsewhere for the remainder of the house. Period.

Painful, buying a new carpet should NEVER be this hard.
9 years ago when we were building our new home, I checked this carpet place out. I was not impressed and felt I could get a better deal elsewhere. We went with a competitor down the street. We were very pleased with our selections and throughout the years have returned to that carpet place for our carpet needs.
2014, we decide to replace our family room carpet. The decorator we work with uses this carpet place. I am hesitant, but agree. When we tried to order larger samples, they were 4 inches by 4 inches, that helped a lot (not). Then there was a problem with the seam. I called the other carpet place who provided me with the information I needed.
First appointment, the guy had predetermined how the installation would be laid out, without asking me, the homeowner, what we wanted.
With intervention from the decorator, we make a selection and ask him to return to discuss possible options for install. First, he showed up an hour late, no call, no apology, no explanation for an appointment which he had set up, at his convenience. He did not have the appropriate tools to find the seam. Next visit, he set up a time with the decorator. We are waiting, and waiting, and I explain this is his behavior and she said she had never experienced this before. She calls him and he told her he had a different time. When he arrives he is profusely apologetic and states he hates to be late. Really?
Fast forward, there is a problem with the install. That was September 19, we are still waiting for them to come out and fix it.

We were looking for a rug runner for our hardwood staircase. We ended up finding a rug on-​line that we fell in love with and purchased. We knew it would be a challenge to install because it was a geometric pattern and needed to wrap around our landing. Also, the rug was intended to be a floor rug, not a carpet runner. We consulted two other flooring stores to find an experienced installer and both stores basically told us that the job was too difficult (and I suspect because the rug was not purchased from them).
We visited Yonan and the Flooring Consultant, Jim, immediately greeted us and asked how he could help. When we explained the situation to Jim, he listened carefully and told us he would reach out to his installation team for guidance. Jim called us the next day to let us know that he found an installer and gave us the estimate for the job. It was very reasonable and competitive for the task at hand.
Fast forward to our installation today — the installer, Rey, called to let us know when he was on his way. He took the time to examine the rug to find the best way to install the pattern seamlessly. He then proceeded to install the rug with precision and care. The installation is far beyond our expectations. Rey is truly skilled at his trade.
I have never written a review but wanted to express our gratitude for such great service, from start to finish. Yonan will have our business for life. Thanks for making us such happy customers!

I had a flood in my basement, and Yonan carpet one was excellent.
Not only did they come quickly, they did the work flawlessly in my basement as well as my kitchen where the flood started.
I did not have to leave my house, the representative was on-​time, polite, extremely knowledgeable about my options and very competitive in pricing.
I never felt like anyone was trying to sell me anything or upsell me. I only felt like the representative from Yonan was trying to help me with what I needed done and within my budget.
I had to deal with many contractors during the flood restoration process, and this company was a breath of fresh air.
My carpet and flooring look better than they did before the flood!

I’ve used Yonan Carpet One twice. The first time was to get a rug bound for my living room and then we went back for basement carpet in January. Both times Mark, my salesman, was super helpful, respectful and responded quickly. I’m happy with the quality of both purchases… and I think I got good pricing!

Yonan Carpet One was great to work with. Prices were reasonable, staff was helpful and install was quick/​easy. We were able to have the carpet installed on a day/​time of our choice — something that was not offered with competitors. We would recommend using this company.

We’ve used them several times at a couple different houses. They have always been professional and their install has always been exactly as you would like it to be.
Most recently they were in to replace padding and re-​stretch our carpet after we had flooding. The guys were very nice and quick. They fixed a couple runs we had had in the carpet before the flooding and vacuumed everything before leaving.
They are our go-​to for carpets in this area.
