Calvary Chapel Christian School

My son went him from Kindergarten to 10^th grade. First off, I’m a single mother and I have NEVER in my life felt so judged as I did by the elementary school staff. When my son got to their middle school, I found out at report card time that he was failing English. When I asked his teacher why I hadn’t been told, her response was something to the effect of that she had many students and couldn’t keep pace with who was failing and who was passing. The school is so expensive, more than CSULB, and that’s the answer I’m given??? I worked 2 jobs to keep him in this place! I feel so much effort is spent on keeping everyone in line and remaining Christ centered that education falls through the cracks. There are many more incidents that took place but finally after his sophomore year, I yanked him out and put him in Wilson in Long Beach. He was slightly behind but luckily he put in extra effort to catch up with the «evil public school kids». I will give it 2 stars because it did give him the foundation, once out of what he calls the «bubble» to stay away from the negative distractions. I’ve never felt so unwelcomed by Christians in my life, to the point that writing this review brings me almost to tears.

Amazing day care staff and teachers that love the children as much as they love and enjoy teaching.

This school is outstanding. The teachers and staff cares about our kids not only in their academic achievements but most importantly in their spiritual growth. It is a private school and it cost $$$ but we make sacrifices for our children’s future. They also have homeschooling program as an alternative and it cost much less.
This is one of the Christian schools in the area that is accredited.
