I usually like to go on Unilocal to leave pleasant reviews. Today, not the case. I visited Dr. Boyd’s office in the past and had not encountered any problems. My routine was pretty simple: make an appointment, receive an eye exam, discuss the results and move forward. This time around, my experience became a little more complex. I had problems with scheduling the appointment, kept leaving messages and my calls were not being returned. I decided to order glasses through their office and it was not a smooth process. The receptionist, Posh, insisted the glasses got lost and the order will be coming in. I honestly feel she did not place the order on time and kept blaming the company for not following through. She is terrible at returning calls, is never in the office, and is on her cell phone when she’s talking to you. Overall, poor customer service. Don’t go here. Also, my mom decided to leave her Ralph Lauren glasses to get the lenses replaced and they lost her glasses(before we knew how terrible the customer service was.) The whole process to replace took about two months of consistent persistence, not to mention stress, on our end to have the office replace the glasses they lost. The actual eye exam is okay. The customer service a nightmare!

I have been using Dr. Boyd’s services since approx 1992 – 1993. I have always had positive experiences here. My entire family sees Dr. Boyd for their eye care needs.

I came in for a routine exam on Jan 6th. I ordered a pair of glasses and I have yet to receive them, I didn’t receive a call that my order was in or anything. I decided to come in the office myself and Dr. Boyd assisted me. It turns out, the order was never placed! Great… I didn’t make a fuss about it, mistakes happen. He placed the order for me and assured me they would be in in 3 business days. It’s been a week today and I still have not received a call about my order. Came in today but unfortunately they were out to lunch. Both Dr. Boyd and the receptionist are very pleasant but this situation has gotten out of hand, luckily I have contacts to hold me over but what if I didn’t? Pretty sure I won’t be coming back if it’s this difficult to place and order.

I have been coming to see Dr. Boyd since 2000 when he use to be at his previous location. The one year I used some other optometrist I realized how wrong I was to leave and came back. Every time I have an appointment I am promptly seen and they get my glasses pretty quick. Posh, the receptionist, is also great and always gives outstanding customer service and is always willing to help me when I have issues with my picky eyes.

DONOT DONOT DONOTGOHERE On 8−23−14 I received an eye exam and purchased lenses, I handed Posh my Prada frames to have the lenses replaced. She told me there lab had lost my frames and she tried to give me the wrong replacement frames. I have gotten the run around for 4 months. I have submitted a complaint with BBB and will be going to small claims court for my refund if this is not settled immediately.

I feel like this is the WORST optometrist office in all of Downey. They have given me the run around for over a MONTH. Seriously what is wrong with their customer service? Also one other thing, it’s REALLY awkward when the ONLY good comment is from their receptionist… THEY’RETRYINGTOSCAMPEOPLE!!!

Both the dr and the receptionist were very pleasant. I enjoyed my visit. No long wait times. The exam was quick and painless. They had a good variety of frames in all different price ranges, colors and brands. I would definitely recommend them. :)
