Mr H’s Tacos

Live this place. I was turned on by my BF’s mom who typically eats like a bird. But she kills Mr. H’s food. I’ve been a few times majority when I haven’t been eating meat and it is still damned yummy. Their sopes are spectacular and the tostadas are even better. Chicken or Carne asada or just beans! You can’t go wrong with the carne tho. It’s never crowded (when I go) price point great, always fresh, the only con is the outside seating. Other than that, thumbs up to Mr. H’s!

I randomly spotted this place and pulled over, tacos sounded good for lunch. With the word «Tacos» in your establishments name I would assume tacos where the places specialty, I was wrong to assume. The I ordered two tacos de asada to go, when I arrived home first thing I noticed the tortilla was under cooked. The meat was tasteless no flavor or trace of any marinate.

Wow! Just stopped to get some tacos and they were amazing!!! The carnitas was by far my favorite. I love avocado and they loaded my tacos with it. I was very happy and now very full :)

Stop by for lunch… it’s a long wait for a taco. Order a one crispy taco and waited 15 – 20 minutes.
Taco was good no salsa or hot sauce on it (lost a star)
Probably will not be back.

cool lil spot for quick Mexican food but their burgers are not good at all their really bland

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Tacos de tripitas were cooked wrong and had no taste. Tortas had no flavor, and then I stopped, I could not continue to try and find something that would taste decent. This is the place you go to when you are desperate and even then you think twice.

A small location easily overlooked but, with some of the tastiest and cheapest food around. I’ve been coming here for years and they have the best carne asada nachos for miles! Some other of my favorites include their quesadillas and chili cheese fries.
Breakfasts are also yummy and you can pretty much create your own for less than other big chain restaurants. Weekends they have menudo. You might have to wait a bit for your order but, the wait is worth it. Also, you can call in and place your delivery for pick up. As mentioned in other reviews, the dining area is outside and not well kept but, you can always order to take home. Overall, diverse menu with a focus on Mexican food, tasty food, and they are open seven days a week starting at 9am.

French fries were black. No flavor. The place isn’t sanitize. Stay away. I’m serious. No taste

I love this place. The food is always made to order, a great price, and the staff is generally friendly. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because the dining area outside is not well kept, out dated, and not comfortable. I wouldn’t want to eat a meal there. Fortunately, I’m usually on the run and just pick up something here and take it home.
They have an AWESOME burger special of 4 burgers, 4 fries, and 4 drinks for $ 16.00 (or around there). I’ve tried several of the different burgers on the menu and and none of them have disappointed me. I have also tried some of the Mexican food and found it to be satisfactory. Carne asada torta and the wet burrito were both good. Although, I wasn’t thrilled with the rice. Tasted bland… the beans on the other hand were flavorful and worth eating.
Keep in mind, this establishment is small and doesn’t have some things you might expect. For instance, you won’t find onion rings or zucchini here to go with your burger combo. Regardless of that, I definitely recommend this diamond in the rough. Yes, the area is… like I said… rough. I’m sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised, just like I was!

Carne Asada fries are the best I have tried in the local area. non of that lettuce or cabbage filler. Just he necessary ingredients, and plenty of them.

I have my usual orders and theyve never steered me wrong.
The price is not that expensive and food is pretty good.
The breakfast side items can fill you up rather quickly and cheaply.

Been coming here since I first moved to Downey. First thing I ever had here was a bean and cheese burrito.

carne asada tacos and carne asada burrito had no flavor. Not coming back to this place. the lady was rude also. Parking is horrible.

Okay, this was the best fish taco that I’ve had in a long time. The carnitas was also great. The horcahta, meh. but that damn fish taco! I will go back just for that!

The nachos are delicious. On Halloween they give out mexican candy! :D
Cute little locally owned spot. There’s tables out front if you don’t want to order to go.
Prices and food aren’t bad at all.
This is supposed to be the «ghetto» side of downey, but eating here, you’ll be fine.

This place is decent. The food is not bad at all and the service is good. There is seating outside if you want to do a little people watching. Can’t say anything bad about this place.

Fast food service. Nice mom and pop operation. Very friendly service and that’s not just because I know them from having grown up in Downey.
Little far from me now, but I’d eat here when I’m in town visiting high school friends.

Not bad for the price. Parking is horrible, but the people who work there are very nice. Seating is outside. I usually get the 3 taco plate deal that comes with your choice of chicken or carne asada tacos, beans and cheese, and rice. All that for $ 4.99.
I always get this, and it never disappointed me. Sometimes they run out of carrots, which makes me sad because I love them. Overall, hot sauce could be hotter, but with all things taken into consideration, place is good.
