Ordered a Steak Calzone, with Jalapenos and a slice of Cheesecake. Total with tax came to $ 18.51
Pros:
Huge portion of Calzone. (+1)
Cons:
Very tiny Cheesecake slice for the price. (–1)
Jalapenos was additional $ 1.00 for a very tiny portion. (–1)
The employee who got the Cheesecake flung the order on the counter. Kind of disrespectful. (–1)
Our employees routinely order from this place. One of the employees raved about the huge portion for $ 7.99 that he ate last week. However the issue I see is the following:
— The flier at our office (might have been outdated) had a Large Steak Calzone listed at $ 7.99
— Their website has a Large Steak Calzone at $ 8.99
— Unilocal’s full menu link displays a Large Steak Calzone for $ 9.99
— In actuality, I was charged $ 11.99 for a Large Steak Calzone. With Jalapeño it was $ 12.99.
— It was a bummer when the $ 7.99 became $ 12.99 by the time I went to pick up the order (–2)

Great pizza but horrible customer service. I really love the pizza here but I really hate their customer service. It’s a love hate relationship. I don’t know what’s up with this place is it being run by the owners relatives? It would explain why they keep such bad employees. The employees here are not friendly, seem annoyed at being there, and even more annoyed that I decided to make them work by ordering pizza. A couple of times I have dropped by they are closing earlier than their posted operating hours. This place could be so much better if they had employees who actually like to work.

The food was excellent. I do admit I was a little mad they showed up after an hour when they quoted 45 min but still… deeeaaamn the pizza and salad was on point. Thanks PIZZATIME!

got sandwich with fries today. nothing special about the food and the guy added 1.00 to trip without asking me which i already was gonna tip 1.00. not a spot i go to often.

If you like cold food and being lied to, I highly recommend Pizza Time. I called and asked if they could send an updated menu. They told me no menu. 6:23 on a Wednesday evening I ordered 3 sandwiches, 3 pizzas, 1 spaghetti. I was told 45 mins. Over an hour later, I called and was told the driver left and is on the way. 20 minutes later, I called and asked to speak to the manager. The woman said «he’s not here». I asked for the whereabouts of my order since 20 minutes elapsed and they are 3 easy miles away (10 minutes via bicycle). Now she said the order was just coming out of the oven when I called last. My doorbell rang. The food was here. I asked the driver if it was still hot. He assured me it was hot and fresh. Truth: the cheese was hard, the pizzas and spaghetti were cold. Waiting an hour and a half for cold food is unacceptable. What a waste of $ 90. It was great as Pizza King in the 80s. Bye, bye, Pizza Liars.

Love their pizza! The flavor the cheese melts right off just like it should. Wings are so tasty and just enough spiciness. The potato wedges are just as good. Calzone is really good got the large and it’s huge. Have not been disappointed at all.

It was almost a year ago that I first tried Pizza Time. The food was so awesome that time that I really wanted to come here again on this visit to California. The pizza is still as awesome as ever and the wings are too. Great customer service again. I was greeted with a friendly smile and they were very attentive to me. They also renovated the place and it looks fantastic. I still highly recommend this place.

Usually have pretty good service but today we waited more than an hour and a half for our pizza and the workers were very rude when we called and asked for an update. They told us different stories each time

Recently remodeled, this petite joint is perfect. The pizza, calzones, potato wedges are all good. Highly recommend trying this place out.

Haven’t been here for a while, but today I decided to try it again after seeing it was remodeled and that they were getting pretty good reviews. And I’m glad I went. I just got a pepperoni & sausage pizza, but wow was it good. I really am impressed. Plus they have carry out prices for pizza, which made my wallet very happy. Can’t wait to get some more pizza and try their other menu items.

my coworkers and i placed an order on monday march 30^th to have it catered for april 1^st for a party we are having at 1130am. they said they would call and confirm our order at 11am they never called so we decided to call to confirm with them but they never picked up there phone at all, weve been calling since 1115am till 12pm nothing. we had to call another pizza place to have our food catered. we will never order from pizza time again.

Pizza Time in Downey has no where near my favorite type of pizza, but it is still some pretty decent pizza. The only kind we tried was a pepperoni pie with relatively thick crust, which is not what my husband and I like. But it was still good, I thought.
If you’re going to try Pizza Time for the first time, call in your order for carryout. There is not really much of a dining area I have never ever seen anyone actually eating in there of the three times I’ve been. It would probably only accommodate small groups.
If you carryout, usually it takes about 15 – 20 minutes for your food to be ready.
TRY THIS…
I really enjoyed their lasagna and spaghetti dishes. And their salads. Every time I got their salads everything was fresh. Actually I couldn’t believe how fresh their salads were.
We’ve tried the family combo special. Good gosh it’s tons of food for around $ 30.

They recently added a breakfast pizza: bacon, eggs, and jalapeño. I love breakfast, so this is so up my alley (if only my hubby wasn’t so picky about the crust!). Oh, but I’ll try it someday… And add chorizo! I just hope it isn’t a limited time offer. I forgot to ask.
They also offer calzones, antipasto salad, Greek salad, chicken salad, ribs, fried chicken, sub sandwiches, drinks, and a few appetizers and desserts.

Every time I have come here they honor their 10% off Unilocal check-​in offer. I’m so happy they provide this offer as hardly anyone else in Downey does this.
Most recently for a game night at our house, I ordered 2 lasagna dinners ($ 19.98) and 1 spaghetti dish ($ 8.99) to go. With tax ($ 2.33) my order came out to $ 25.87 to feed four adults and 1 child. Each dish comes with a small styrofoam container of salad and some breadsticks. That’s GOBS of food! Plus they provide paper plates, plastic utensils, crushed red pepper (my husbands LOVES that they give us this), parmesan cheese, Ranch dressing packets, and napkins. Larger pizza chains do NOT do this anymore. In fact, they seemingly charge you for all of it.
We had plenty of leftovers to divvy up at the end of our meal. When our girls get older and they have slumber parties — and I know they will — I will most definitely order some lasagna dinners for all of them.
It may not be your absolute favorite pasta dishes, but my orders have always been brought out piping hot with fresh, cold salads.
Sometimes it seems like it’s hard for the person answering the phone to hear with the kitchen so close to their ear. I often have to repeat what I’m saying when I call them.
Also, the online menu does not correlate with what the extensive menu on their TV screens say.
PARKING
It’s located in the middle of a strip mall. Parking can be hit or miss, but there are usually some spots open in the vicinity.
BOTTOMLINE
Decent, very affordable place for carryout filler food for families and bachelors/​bacherlottes who don’t mind leftovers for breakfast the next day. :)
The employees are always very nice. My old phone froze right in front of the girl at the register the first time I tried to use the Unilocal check-​in offer. She was really cool about it and still ended up giving me the discount.

The pizza is not bad considering its local and convenient to Downey residents. The overall service is my only concern. I don’t need anyone to kiss my butt when I call in an order or walk in but to be arrogant about how you don’t care about service is when I write a review.
Flat out people who work at Pizza time are rude and don’t give a shit about customer service.
I get customer service and I understand retail because I worked it for over 20 yrs. so when I have the front counter guy give me horrible service I let it slide because he may of had a crappy customer before me. However when I call in and I get the worst attitude, that’s it I’m done. I will give someone else my money and business.
Good luck Pizza Time, your gonna need it especially in today’s competitive world of pizza. You lost me as a customer and I can guarantee you will lose more of your base customers with your poor service.

So I decided to spend my Valentine’s Day at pizza time in Downey but as soon as I walked into the restaurant I should have walked back when I seen the cook who looked like he hasn’t showered in days and a huge Mohawk but I decided to give it a chance since everything was so packed because of Valentine’s Day. So the server come to take our order and was rude didn’t say hi or anything. So he takes our order like it killed him they take forever to bring our food. We finally get our order and there’s a roach in our food. We call the man over and gets the salad with the roach in it and tries to take out like we didn’t see him and says there’s nothing in here luckily I took a picture he said let me get you another salad I said I don’t want anything in here just give me my money.

I ordered a medium pizza and two cans of soda total was 16 something & once the pizza arrived I gave the guy 20 bucks he didn’t have any change so I paid 19 bucks for a medium pizza.
This pizza was soooooooooooooooooooooo nasty. Had a weird taste to the cheese and so much oil not kidding I used four napkins to dab it down for my children –_​– my kids couldn’t even eat a slice. Complete FAIL
First and LAST time ordering here. I don’t mind paying 19 if it at lease tasted good. I wouldn’t even give this pizza to a homeless. All bad
It’s really loud when I called can barley even her the guy on the phone, I felt like I orders a jug of oil –_​-​. I ate one slice and horrible heartburn.

The pizza sub is absolutely delicious.

This place is always good, never have to wait too long, & they always have some kind of really good deals going on. Got my 10% off with no problems using Unilocal when I checked in too. Staff is always friendly & the place is clean. Think I’ll be coming here all the time. Oh, & they have a pretty big menu, not just pizza. Gonna try out the Hot Wings today.

This place is ALWAYS good when I come. I don’t what the hell other people are talking about with their sob stories and 1 or 2 Stars. I’ve tried a lot that is on the menu and it’s ALL GOOD. Sorry if others have had bad experiences, but they should give it another shot.

my brother used to have an apt right around the corner from this place. When he told me it was the best, i didnt believe it. We have ordered from here time and time again.
