Delicious place! I was a bit skeptical as I haven’t ate Indian halal food but the owner/server was kind enough to explain some foods to us and explain some of the tradition, awesome!!! I ordered the mixed and the chicken and beef was delicious. Oh and the nann(probably spelled it wrong) but it was the best«pizza crust»(I needed to compare it something) I ever had. This will be a good stop for me anytime i want food food. Downey please go to this place!!!

Came here on a random Saturday night after grabbing some pastries from Portos. My sister loved the mango lassi since it was just right and not too sweet. We got the garlic naan to go with our food. Try the chicken tikka and the masala. They both have different sauces. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area.

Though this place isn’t even slightly fancy, the food and service are outstanding! The veg dishes here could turn me vegan, I swear. But that will never happen. Their meat dishes are equally delicious. Best veg dishes, imo: chana masala, daal and palak paneer. Meat dishes: mixed grill platter and meat samosas. If you like Indian/Pakistani food, eat here! You’ll be glad you did!

Just finished dinner with my husband here and I have to say it was a great meal. Everything we tried had incredible flavor. We had the Qeema Samosa as an appetizer and it was crunchy, flaky goodness! We ordered the Mix Grill Platter which had a mix of boneless and bone-in chicken, pieces of what seemed to be beef kabob, onions, and bell peppers. Simple, incredible flavor. We also had the Chicken Tikka Masala(mild) and the plain rice to round off our meal. The chicken tikka was also great, not too spicy, not too sweet and the sauce was a nice compliment to the grilled meats and rice. The garlic na’an was also very good. The dish portions were perfect. They were more than enough for both us and we still had leftovers! The service was also top notch. From the young lady that greeted us, to the man(whom I will assume was the owner) who took our order and asked us how the food was. A young man also came over and asked us for feedback and if the TV had been too loud(they had what appeared to be an Indian music channel on). We told him it wasn’t. It added to the experience. Overall, great food and service!

My boyfriend KP and I came to this place. Watered down Tikka masala, saag wasn’t that great either. The garlic Naan was not fluffy, but looks can be deceiving. We’ve definitely had better. We won’t be coming back to this place. Good riddance, back to Artesia we go.

First time hear and I had the karahi ghost with lamb, garlic naan and rice and washed down with a cup of chai. The food was exquisite am telling and Shahid the owner was really nice and good hearted man. Definitely going back since am always in Downey. Also if you haven’t tried Indian food it can be really spice so don’t go all macho thinking you can handle it. I recommend medium spicy for first timers.

Oh man, this place has great foods! Great customer service, clean, and, the owner and his family are really nice. :) By far, they have the best tasting veggie samosa. The garlic nann was perfect and not burnt, Mali chicken masala had a refreshing taste, and the tandoor chicken was delicious. Everything was fresh and hot. It was perfect.

I rarely rate Indian Pakistani restaurants five star as the taste is never close to authentic or homely. But this is an exception. Loved every bite of food that went into our mouths. Licked our fingers as evident from the picture below. We had the chicken seekh kabob, mutton pulao, yellow dal, bhindi, chicken karahi and roti. Everything was delicious. Just like back at home. Not excessively oily, spice level spot on. Shahid sir who runs the place is an excellent cook and very friendly.

First time here. Place is small but it is beautiful inside. The food is excellent! We got the Malai chicken masala(my favorite), chicken tikka, regular naan bread, yogurt with cucumber, and last but not least mutton pulao. Everything was really good and you can ask for a certain level of spiciness on some dishes. The owner was nice. Location is a little bad but its what makes this place a hidden treasure.

Amazing food and service! I work in the area and was craving Indian food. I usually frequent restaurants in Artesia for this, but I found this gem on the way to work and love it! It’s a tiny place but honestly it is so homey and nice to eat in. The food is fresh and authentic, and the workers are sooo kind. I hardly eat meat so Indian food has always been a go-to for me, so I’m definitely going to be ordering from here for lunch very often. I got the garlic naan, the dal tadka, and their vegetable samosas. Everything was delicious! Their raita is excellent as well!

I’m no expert in this cuisine but I enjoyed my meal here. Just one thing they could fix on one of their dishes and I shall explain later in my review. So I get my hair did in the area and whenever I’m visiting someone else’s hood, I tend to check my bookmarks and or cuisines I might be craving that day. Zaiqa was high on my list that day and I made sure to pay them a visit. The first visit I sat and looked over the menu. Be sure to be on the look out for the signage, because this place can be easy to pass by. Also the parking is weird. I just park right up front and pray no one is coming in when I’m backing out LOL. The interior of this place is interesting. It’s small inside and I’m glad I’ve gone in when it’s not packed. The cashier area is interesting because in a glass case homie has watches and jewelry you can buy. Random AFLOL. Can’t knock the hustle right. Anywho, I decide to order what I mainly came there for and that was Chicken tikka masala. I also ordered beef biryani, palak paneer and how can one not order Garlic naan!!! While I waited he gave me a taste of fresh naan. Pretty tasty, very garlicky could have more of a buttery taste but I’m not complain much. So food is ready within 20 min or so and I drive back to my gfs house anxious totear this food up!!! I get a plate and start plating! Get comfy on the couch and dig in. Everything was so flavorful. I like taking the biryani and pouring the chicken tikka over that and also doing the same with the paneer. The chicken was moist, the beef in the biryani is always moist. The palak is soooooo good and hearty and I love those little cubes of paneer. All I need is this over rice and I would be a happy girl eating such a hearty meal. I had no complaints from my meal that evening. The second trip I ordered everything but the palak paneer and that’s because I didn’t want a ton of leftovers to conquer: p The seasonings were definitely their but my chicken tikka masala was a bit of a disappointment. They had the spice factor on point but man was the chicken severely overcooked. So bad it make’s me want to order without chicken since I shredded my store bought rotiseriee chicken and OMG was that so much better. The beef biryani was just as good and I love how I can eat on this dish alone for days: D Oh and the owner gave me a free dessert that was damn good, my sister loved it too!!! It was like a rice pudding. I added raisins and it made me feel like I was eating grandma’s rice pudding again. Even with the little hiccup of the chicken tikka masala, I would most definitely come back without a doubt!!!

Came here the other day after work and I was happy to see a highly rated restaurant near by especially since I was craving naan. The server was very friendly and had me sit down and I was given a menu. I told him I was vegetarian and recommended a few of the popular vegetarian dishes. I ended up picking a preena tikka masala which was basically like tofu in sauce as well as some rice and garlic naan. In terms of taste, it tasted just fine however the presentation as well as the portion were a little bit small relative to the price. I felt I didn’t great value for my money. It was close to $ 15 for everything and I didn’t quite get full. On the bright side, the garlic naan was delicious. Its hard to not like naan! Anyhow, I’d definitely give it another shot because the server was very welcoming and I’d probably have a better experience if I tried the other dish he recommended.

The man and woman who I assume are the owners are very sweet people. I ordered the chicken rice, garlic nan(bread) and another chicken dish. The rice was soo, soo, but the chicken and bread were delicious. I think I would have liked the rice better if the chicken was off the bone, I didn’t like pulling bones and stuff out when eating the rice. The portions are large too and the place is nice inside. The man gave me a card on my way out so that I could order ahead and not have to wait! Overall, a good place with nice people.

I Unilocaled for Indian food driving on Imperial and Zaiqa popped up. I did not know what to expect so I parked and ordered. I liked the food so much that we stopped by to pickup food to go Sunday afternoon. I ordered Delhi Beef Qorma Special, Beef biriyani and a Naan during my first visit. ~20.00 We ordered Karahi Ghost, Mutton Pulao, Delhi Beef Qorma Special, Beef Biriyani(Medium spicy), Chicken Biriyani and a Naan during our second visit. ~52.00 Pros: 1) A polite gentleman assisted me with my take out order the first time. He mentioned that the curry would take 15 – 20 minutes, and it did take 20 minutes. I like it when employees don’t overcommit.(+1) 2) Food was delicious. Beef biriyani and Beef curry were a highlight.(+1) 3) Very close to work. Abundant parking in the lot nearby. 4) Unlike the other desi joints in little India, this restaurant does not close in the afternoon. Cons: 1) A tad bit too much butter than what I would like to see in curries.(–1) 2) Chicken Biriyani portion was lesser than the Beef biriyani portion. I will definitely be back.

Zaiqa(which means TASTE) stands up to its name. It is so. So. Tasty. So happy that it is only a few short minutes from the bfs house. Go downey eats! 1) Naan is a must have. One order will give you one Naan that is around 10 inches in diameter. My favorites are the Roghani&Garlic Naan 2) Chicken Tikki Massala: perfect to dip my Naan in &the spices are jjst amazing. 3) Mixed Grill platter: when in doubt, get the mixed platter. It has all the different types of meat put together and they are all worth trying **Green chutney sauce** please put it on everything it just freshens up the whole plate. The owners are kind & the food is amazing. What more can you ask for?
