This store has an amazing collection of merch that spans dang near the entirety of gaming existence. Their pricing is very good — I bought Jet Force Gemini(I know, I know) at another store on a whim, and lo and behold, CGR had it for a full $ 13 less the next week. I mean Earthbound is like $ 200, but what are you gonna do? Another major pro of this store is just the overall presentation. I just like what they’ve done with the place — hardwood floors, plushies filling the front windows, classic controllers hanging from the ceilings, operating game systems ready to be played, the list goes on. And did I mention the framed signed copy of Mike Tyson’s Punchout? Killer! On top of this, every game I’ve bought from them is in very good condition, as are the boxes/containers/what-have-you. As a person who usually avoids used merchandise when I can, I have zero issues with CGR’s pre-owned stock. They’ve always maintained the original art and packaging, discs are clean and the cardboard slip case of my Mass Effect Trilogy is near mint condition. Most importantly, the staff are all friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The first time I ever walked into the store, I asked for an NES copy of Arkanoid on the off chance they’d have it. I didn’t see it on the shelf and nearly lost hope, but one of the dudes kindly went into the back, and wouldn’t you know it, came out with a very reasonably priced copy of a frickin’ classic! I have nothing but good things to say about CGR, Dom and his entire staff. Oh, and if you ever get tired of waiting outside the chain stores every time a wave of Amiibos comes out, just go here. As of last weekend, CGR had at least six that were totally unavailable anywhere.

I will never shop at GameStop again. Sure, it’s an okay place to shop if you want to find a brand new game system, but what about the classics? Older systems are nearly impossible to find in good working condition. I just purchased a PS2 in great condition. I was also able to get a few games, memory card and controller, all for a very reasonable price. They do carry newer games that most of the time, beat the prices of competitors. The staff is also fantastic. They are very knowledgeable, and genuine with their customers. I never feel pressured when I shop here which is greatly appreciated.

This is where you should buy video games. You’d be a fool to go to GameStop again. While small in size, this store is packed with tons of great games, spanning every generation. There’s something at CGR games for every gamer to enjoy. The games in the store are all great and affordable, and the people working there are just as genuine.
