Every time I come here I feel like I’m in a friend’s kitchen, not a diner. Just a quaint place with amazing and creative comfort breakfast food! Can get a little crowded, but a small price to pay because everyone who goes there knows it will be worth the wait!

Good diner food at a good price. Getting in and out can be tough due to it being on a pretty major road. Service is pleasant and fast.

Not exaggerating. Best breakfast I had! We were traveling to NJ and found this gem on our way there. Unbelivably good breakfast! Had broccoli scramble, eggs Benedict, and pancakes. Every single one of them was delicious and awesome!

very mixed reviews. Sometimes good, others times not so good. Uneven service and quality of food. Been going for many years, but now down to every 6 months.

Can’t beat the Cross Key’s Dinner. Dinner does not do it justice, they have creative eats, fresh ground and brewed coffee, just all around top notch! Nice vintage atmosphere. I love eating here!

I am a BLT pro. I love this sandwich. I am also partake in breakfast potatoes. Not just home fries. This place hit the arrow in the bullseye. The BLT was LOADED with tomatoes. The sandwich was full fresh, cold tomatoes and hot bread, romaine lettuce nice crisp bacon and mildly toasted perfect bread. The potatoes had some fried onions to make them just excellent. Fast and friendly, this place was just what I needed. So glad that Unilocal!suggested this place.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times. I get mixed feelings every time. Coffee is good. Specials are good– except they always run out pretty early, which is disappointing bc everything else on their menu is basic diner items. Theres always at least a 20 min wait on the weekends– expected bc it’s not a huge place. Bakery items are made on-site so those are always great. Pancakes are fluffy and yummy. But their regular food items are just okay. Servers do their job but nothing exceptional. I don’t understand why this place got so many stars for an average diner. At best, it’s worth three.

This was such a terrific place to enjoy breakfast. I ordered the eggs Benedict and the eggs were perfectly cooked. I don’t like when the whites of the egg are still runny. It’s gross. Mine were cooked perfect and the hollandaise sauce was one of the best that I’ve had. The service was prompt and everyone wee courteous.

We love it here! Fast service, team effort from the wait staff to get you in and out in record time and really good food. We come for breakfast and brunch and there is almost always a wait but it’s worth it(and it moves pretty quickly). Definitely worth a visit(or 100)!

Awesome little gem hidden right off the road. We drove by and didn’t even realize the small place was a diner until we read the sign. We stopped in for breakfast and there was a wait… good sign! We only waited about 10 mins and were seated. Service was very quick, staff was to the point so it wasnt even like they were friendly or not friendly, but they definitely got the job done in terms of service. I had am omelette special they had for the day and it was great. A medley of flavors that I never would’ve put together. Turkey, mushroom reduction with onions, cheese and yum! It was a bit pricey for breakfast but I’m sure not for the area. Definitely worth a stop in. Also, there’s a cute little bakery hidden behind the diner… don’t forget to stop in there too for a mid afternoon snack!

Not a fan. I ate there 2 times. Both times yuck. I had tuna on rye with provolone lettuce & tomato. It was awful. It had a really strong fish smell and yeah it’s fish, but it shouldn’t have smelled like that. I had grilled chicken the 2nd time. Grilled is supposed to be a bit healthier. Not this. Slathered in grease. The lettuce was even greasy. ugh. never again

Good omelets. Good waffle. Quick and friendly service. Noise level: Loud I judge the cleanliness of a kitchen by the cleanliness of the restrooms, which are a bit dingy.(Still trying to find a diner that isn’t)

Food is always outstanding in this place. Highly recommend it! It’s a must visit(frequently) place… Breakfast specials are wonderful. Don’t pay heed to those who complain about the staff. They are clueless. I’ve always had a great experience here, and the food is worth the wait. The line out the door tells you all you need to know.

Five stars for breakfast joint. Besides the standard menu items — which are all excellent — the specials are amazing. Had eggs with smoked bbq brisket and corn bread. Just being able to get that combo alone would make me happy. But it was the best bbq brisket outside of Austin I’ve had — and I sample a lot of bbq. Hash brown potatoes were spot on as well. Wife had a navy bean soup that was really really good — and I eat and make a lot of bean soups. Eggs were cooked perfectly, nice portions, quality food, innovative choices, etc. what more do u want in breakfast joint?

We have eaten here a few times over the years but never again. We went for breakfast but there was a wait so we left. The hostess gave us a nasty look and yelled a rude remark out the door and across the parking lot as we left. A note fell off the door as we walked out and she expected us to pick it up and fix the way it was applied to the door. That’s not a customer’s responsibility and insulting us was not appreciated. As a result, we will take our business elsewhere.

We’ve lived in the Doylestown area for almost 10 yrs and bucks county all our life and not sure how we did not find this place until last weekend. Wife and I got pumpkin pancakes, which were fantastic. All of their specials really looked good and don’t think we could have went wrong. Kids got eggs and regular pancakes, which were also good. Expect to wait on the weekends, but well worth it. Great place for kids.

I left it up to my sister to set the alarm and wake us up for our 10:30 brunch reservation at some place in New Hope. Well old habits die hard and of course she shut it off and went right back on sleeping. Hello! I just traveled an hour and a half to come see you and now you’re telling me we’ll just have to go to the diner? OMG — the BEST diner. They make new specials all the time and it is so hard to decide what to get! You have to get there early though if you don’t want them to be all out of something. My sister’s first two choices were gone by the time we were seated. But I happily munched away at my fresh Belgian waffle topped with sautéed apples and honey cinnamon butter. Yes — that’s a real dish and they served it here. Cancel your fancy plans and go here!

This morning my hunger pangs were defeated by a housemade macadamia nut Belgian waffle heaped with gorgeous local strawberries, very stiff orange-vanilla Crème Chantilly and toasted coconut. The waffle was light and airy with a perfectly crisp exterior. Sublime! A perfect summer breakfast. Sadly, notwithstanding the dish’s immense eye-appeal(see photos), I could eat only a scant half of the serving. My all-time favorite brunching companion and personal Superhero, Mr. M, graciously agreed to handle the balance. Excellent bottomless coffee, as always. BTW, we had the primo location in the house: Counter seats with a view of the kitchen, where the magic happens. Again, endless gratitude to fellow Unilocaler and dear friend(AW) who was kind enough to share Cross Keys with us. You are the best!!!

I hadn’t been inside Cross Keys Diner in at least a decade, but walking in it seemed like time stood still. Everything looked and felt the same. This had always been a community center where locals stopped in for a meal along with their neighbors and business associates to enjoy the home cooking and the hominess of the décor. It still is. I sat on a spinner directly in front of the kitchen entrance and was immediately serviced by all the workers who were picking up orders or refilling their coffee mugs. The menu is diverse, but the real deal is in their breakfast specials. I opted for the Thunder Cakes, made with a mix of fruit and nuts and a substantial pancake mix that made even the short stack(2 pancakes) more than I could manage. The melted butter and house syrup absorbed into the coarse texture of the pancakes like water on parched land. The taste was healthy and filling. I added more syrup three times during the meal as it continued to disappear. Yes. It was way sweet enough. I couldn’t finish the 2 cakes, and wondered how anyone could digest a full stack. It did sit a little heavy in my stomach for a few hours, but not enough to reach a discomfort level. I realized later in the day the true meaning of «Thunder.» No need to elaborate. Cross Keys is still a meeting place that takes its cues from the 1980’s, right down to the rock music of the era. The staff is warm and enthusiastic. Definitely worth another round.
