It’s great to have a hardware store in Doylestown again. They stock a wide variety of hardware and the people who work there are very helpful. Recently I was able to pick up a new knob for an appliance — the person I asked knew exactly where to find it. Always a pleasant experience.

This is the owner of Doylestown True Value and I would like to respond to Paul’s comments above. 1. Our manager on duty in no way ever raised her voice or was disrespectful to the customer. In fact, she treated him with courtesy and respect while explaining the situation. For anyone who wishes to see it, we have the entire exchange on our security camera. 2. We never threatened to call the police. We called Paul’s house just to verify that the services had been paid for since the customer did not have a receipt and did not inform the front end cashier about the situation. We did not request that Paul return to the store. He did this by choice. We merely asked Paul to call with his receipt number so that we could verify it in the system. We all have bad days and it appears that Paul was having a bad day. We would love to welcome him back to the store so that he can enjoy the best that Doylestown True Value has to offer. Thank you for all of your support. See you soon. Best regards, Dan, Owner True Value

The Mgr at this store confuses being polite and friendly with good customer service. I picked up some scissors I had sharpened. I had paid for the service when I dropped them off. I forgot my receipt but the employee said it was ok. I left the store and, to my shock, the store then called my wife and demanded I bring the $ 15 receipt in or they would call the police! I drove all the way back and gave them the $ 15 receipt; told them that I had spent 2k there in the last year(which any competent manager would have checked before calling), and that they could kiss my business goodbye. The manager then called and apologized and offered to refund my $ 15. I guess I’m old fashioned but I cant be publicly insulted and then«compensated» with small change. If you want friendly service, high prices and an opportunity to be accused of theft, then Doylestown True Value is for you. I will never set foot in this store again.
