I would love to write a review today. But I can’t. I called to find out today’s shop hours — the phone message said 5pm. I like to shop local as much as i can. I was there at 4:15. Went out of my way this afternoon to get there. Door locked. Store dark. Waste. Of. My. Time. I’ve had reasonably good experiences the two other times I shopped here. My plan today was to purchase 1200 yards of a nice cashmere lace for a special shawl I want to start in the next few days. Unfortunately, I will not be shopping at Forever Yarn. I’ll order this evening from a small mill I know in Rhode Island.

I live in South Philly and usually just go to Loop or Rosie’s but I was visiting my bf in Horsham and called Forever Yarn to see if they had the yarn I was looking for and coundn’t find elsewhere. She said she did and I rushed over there. It is alittle tucked away but I am also geo-spatially challenged so for normal people it might not be too difficult to find. In any case, she has SOOOO much yarn! I loved it. Lots of ladies in there knitting as well. The owner is very helpful and a great businesswoman as I went in thinking I only need a couple skeins of something affordable and ended up getting $ 150 worth of yarn(which is not a lot for great yarn but I am a poor poor human being with a knitting addiction). Anyway, I will probably hit Forever Yarn every time I come visit my boyfriend(and if I can spare some money). I loved it there!

This store is a great find nestled down an alley in Doylestown. I go there fairly regularly for yarn and knitting advice when it’s needed. The owner of the store is very knowledgeable and is easily able to help you find yarn that will work with a pattern you have. She has a gorgeous selection to browse as well. I have stopped by on several weekend mornings to sit and knit. The ladies who gather there are all very friendly and can also offer great advice and opinions as well as good ideas for future projects. Most days it seems everyone orders lunch from one of the nearby shops, so it’s a nice way to spend a few hours out of the house. One of the best knitting stores in the area!

This little yarn shop is a bit hard to find, tucked behind another art studio/crafty space, but it is packed with some great fibers, and a really knowledgeable owner. And if pure yarn doesn’t get you going(if you’re reading a yarn shop review, I can only assume that it does — in fact — get you going) there are tons of finished pieces hanging around and looking lovely. Also, lots of buttons. The owner — although friendly and knowledgeable and super sweet — is a little hands on for my taste — she’s damn good at the up sale, and is totally the devil to my «don’t buy everything in the store» angel. However, this place is cozy and sweet and has some great, typically priced finds.
