Do you ever dream of bark? I mean the most delicious white chocolate bark with sour cherries or an orange hazelnut dark chocolate bark… For over nine beautiful years, Laurie has been creating the most equisete hand crafted chocolates, which are always fresh and made to order. Laurie’s kitchen is not open to the public, but she has a website where you can choose which chocolates you would like to have sent to your own front door or office. I found Laurie’s Chocolates at Taste, Sand Castle Winery and I’ve been dreaming of them since. Laurie’s Chocolates are sold conveniently throughout Buck’s County and until you have had her creamy, delicious mouth salivating and to the point of drooling sea salt vanilla bean toffees, you have not lived! Now I am on a mission to slowly try all of Laurie’s creations, buckeyes, buttercrunch toffee, caramel wrapped pretzel rods, truffles galore, even with Merlot. She has four different award winning hot cocoa mixes, one of them has cayenne for some heat on those cold winter days, but I tried and absolutely loved the Chocolate Dreams, sweet Jesus this stuff is so good! Her chocolate sculptures and wedding chocolates are to behold and resisting to break them apart would be a sin for sure. My only regret is that I will be unable to attend the Buck’s County Chocolate show on April 30th from 10am to 4pm, where this chocolatier will be able to show her stuff, which can be paired with great wines from the Sand Castle Winery @1:00pm, the executive pastry chef of Le Bec Fin, Cedric Barberet, will be the judge of this cool chocolate contest, which Laurie will not be a part of, since she will be having the pairing of wine and chocolate with Sand Castle Winery. After all, it’s all about the world of chocolate, especially when paired with a good wine. Our mother’s may have ate bon bons while watching reruns of I love Lucy, but I think I have one over on Mom with curling up with a good book while sipping wine and indulging in Laurie’s Chocolates.
