ordered two records from sound stage direct, both were listed as in stock… waited about 9 days with«processing» status on my order before i decided to contact their customer service. The girl explained to me that everything was on back order, even though their website still had it listed as avail and for sale. She upgraded my shipping, perfect! When i got my order 14 days later, the labels sealing my records were ripped up pretty badly. This is NOT what I expected to get from SSD. As a collector I found this unnacceptable. When I contacted them again to let them know, the records were now out of stock. I was about to pull the trigger on a david bowie bbc session preorder, but decided to wait until I got the ones I ordered previously. SOOOOO glad i didnt preorder the BBC Sessions set, because who knows what I would get in the mail. only satisfaction I got from SSD was to return for a full refund… thanks for nothing ssd… hello ebay, here I come!

What happens when you order something from a business and they don’t have it? 1) Nothing — you wait and wait. 2) They get a hold of you and say — wait. 3) They get a hold of you and say — we don’t have it but we can upgrade or downgrade you for the difference in price. 4) If you’re Sound Stage Direct, they call you AND they UPGRADE you for no charge! Kudos to Seth and his team — small business(really, who wants to go to Best Buy) with unheard of customer service! Over a $ 200 upgrade on a $ 1100 purchase — now that’s action. Thanks guys, and happy holidays.

Could not locate it for the life of me no sign or anything. Maybe there’s a wrong address listed here on Unilocal

I just received my first two orders(placed separately) today. Since it is 100 degrees here today I rushed home from work to save my precious new vinyl from the hot front porch. USPS tracking and text messages are pretty awesome. I am very impressed with the care Sound Stage Direct has taken to package and ship vinyl. So impressed that I have another 7180gm audiophile albums ordered. Yeah, I foolishly sold off tons of vinyl collected all through the 70′ and early 80“s. Vinyl was dead right? If I could just find some of those again I would be a happy camper. Thanks Sound Stage Direct for«keeping vinyl alive». I’ll be seeing you again soon.

This week, I got in the mail, my first Pink Floyd album to play on my Rega turntable I bought from these guys a few months ago. Of course the turntable came in the mail like any other equipment would: shipped in its mfg box.(BTW I love this turntable so much) and of course it was delivered right when they said it would. But when I got my DSOTM album, I was really able to see how much SSD goes out of their way to make sure the customer experience memorable. The vinyl was packaged up carefully in vinyl specific packaging and there was a signed letter inside from the owner letting me know how much they value our business. Its was a really nice touch of class not commonly demonstrated in modern business. I recommend this company for vinyl and equipment with reservation.
